History

Established in 1980.

The law firm of Puff & Cockerill L.L.C. dates back to 1980 when founder, Jeffrey V. Puff, started a law firm in his hometown of Woodbury, New Jersey. Over the years Mr. Puff has represented individuals as diverse as his second grade teacher and a Superbowl quarterback. The firm has grown from Mr. Puff and his first paralegal, to now 26 full and part-time employees. The firm is primarily a "people" firm, in that it serves the needs of ordinary people. There is an emphasis in Wills, Trusts, estate planning, estate administration, matrimonial law, including, but not limited to divorce, custody and domestic violence. The firm also handles real estate law, land use, small business law, guardianships, Medicaid planning, civil rights, personal injury, worker's compensation, and bankruptcy. The firm takes pleasure in having the privilege of representing individuals and assisting them with their legal needs.

Meet the Business Owner: Jeffrey P.

Jeffrey V. Puff was born and raised in Woodbury, New Jersey. He graduated from Bucknell University in 1975, and from the Marshall-Wythe School of Law, College of William & Mary in 1978. After graduating from law school, Mr. Puff returned to his hometown and opened a solo practice, which is now the law firm of Puff & Cockerill L.L.C. Mr. Puff has served as the Prosecutor for the City of Woodbury and the Zoning Board Solicitor for the Township of Logan. He currently serves as the Solicitor for the Greater Woodbury Chamber of Commerce and as Chairman of the Gloucester County Bar Association Real Estate Committee and Gloucester County Bar Association Probate Committee. Since Mr. Puff first opened his doors, he has never stopped moving and has never slowed down in 37 years. Outside of the practice, Mr. Puff is active in both community affairs and his church, where he serves as Chairman of the Finance Committee. He also maintains strong ties to his alma mater, Bucknell University.
