While it's a charming bed and breakfast, do note that breakfast isn't complimentary--it's made to order. The property is small and cozy, which adds to its charm, but you can hear sounds from neighboring rooms and the occasional neighborhood dogs. If you've never been to Coyoacán, this quiet, neighborhood is where Frida Kahlo grew up, and you'll find several memorials dedicated to her nearby. One of the highlights of Casa Jacinta is the idyllic garden downstairs, where the plants are taken care of. This beautiful boutique hotel is in a lovely and serene neighborhood in Coyoacan just walking distance to the mercado, central park area, Frida Kahlo museum, and tons of great places to eat. Our room was charming and clean, and the bathroom was beautifully adorned with tilework. It looks like it was a house turned into a small hotel, so it feels cozy and homey. They don't have too many rooms, which makes it feel more comforting and personal compared to a big hotel. There is a communal room with tables that serve as the breakfast area each morning (available for purchase). They also provide a self-service station for coffee, tea, and filtered water. This room also opens up to a lush backyard with seating providing a perfect tranquil ambiance. This hotel definitely exceeded my expectations. The staff was incredibly nice and accommodating to us. I loved it here and recommend a stay here if you're in the area!

But after my stay here, I can say they were absolutely right!!! This is the most perfect hotel/B&B EVER. I'm so glad I stayed here over other soulless hotels that were cheaper. From the first welcome to the last goodbye, every staff member here has made us feel so warm and cared for. Breakfast: This was my absolute favorite part -- I usually don't care for hotel breakfasts because I'm always on the go, but once I had the first bite, I moved our itinerary around so that we could get their breakfast every morning! They start around 7am with the bread and coffee, but the hot breakfasts start at 8am and end at 10am. I got to try chilaquiles, enchiladas, and enmoladas while I was here, and they really make them with heart and soul! These were the best things I ate during my trip to Mexico City! Also really loved the outside garden in the mornings with all the greenery and birds chirping. Location: in the heart of La Condesa, walking distance to Roma Norte, both neighborhoods were great for strolling through parks and art galleries. We ubered to other places further away and it was so cheap and convenient. Rooms: We stayed here for 4 nights and went to Oaxaca for 3, then back to the Red Tree House for the last night, and both rooms we had were cozy and comfy, with AC. They have great shampoo/conditioner and shower gel, amazing water pressure and temperature, everything was so clean, and I got to sit outside in the balcony and took it slow for the last morning we were there. Housekeeping was amazing, everything was perfect when we came back every night. Safety: They lock their front doors and the front gate so you need your key to get in, and there's a safe in every room. Happy Hour every night 6-8PM: This was such an unexpected bonus! I didn't even plan for us to be at the hotel during those hours because I wanted to see everything in CDMX, but it ended up raining during those hours and we went to one, and it was so much fun chitchatting with other like-minded travelers who shared what they loved about their trip -- We ended up going to a few more & got so many tips from other guests! The hotel dogs Romeo & Booz - I love them and miss them so much! Side note: I LOOOOVED all the art work and interior design and colors. Felt like I was in an art gallery but at the same time so comfortable at a friend's home. HIGHLY recommend!!! If I could give more than 5 stars, I would!!

We were travelling from Australia. Our room and the ambiance of the house is tasteful and cosy with a stunning art collection, soft music and a beautiful peaceful garden. It is a refuge away from the busyness of the city. The breakfasts are to die for and the happy hour was an opportunity to socialise and network which is helpful when the city is new to you. For me the two friendly resident pet dogs were a bonus as I was missing my own. I can't recommend the Red Tree House enough.

I checked into the hotel this afternoon and a couple of hours later they texted me "from the front desk" asking me if everything was in order or if I needed anything. Then after 10 when i was getting in bed they called me from the front desk to tell me that there was a police operation and that I needed to go downstairs or give them access to my room and that I also needed to show them my passport and suitcase. When I refused and asked for an explanation they became aggressive and threatened they would enter the room by force. It was obviously a scam but they had my information, the one I entered for my checkin. I felt so uncomfortable and unsafe that I left in the middle of the night and checked into another hotel. I've traveled to Mexico so many times and never had an experience like this. Would not recommend staying here. The rooms also do not have a security lock which made me even more nervous about staying the night knowing my details have been leaked by the hotel staff and I was being targeted.

Dafne was exceptional - we communicated via email prior to our arrival. She helped arrange a car pick up at the airport and also helped us book a couple massages, setting it up in an empty room as a surprise for my husband. The massages were heavenly by the way. Juliana was also amazing- she gave us fantastic recommendations on where to eat locally, and always offering to help when we needed it. A few notes about Casa Goliana - It is gated and they have 24 hour security that let you in. Area is safe and this seems standard for bed and breakfast in the area. It is one flight of stair up to the reception area. We were in a King Suite which was another flight up - stairs were fine for us, but a consideration if you have mobility issues. Location is great - a few blocks from Collima which is where all the great restaurants are and not far from Parque Espana which is a great place to walk around. Noise level - a number of reviews state this place can be loud. When we stayed, we were one of 2 rooms there. It is an old house that has been converted to a B&B - I think a total of 9 rooms. Creaky floors in some spots, and the wardrobe in the room was loud if you didn't attempt to soft close the doors. However, it didn't bother us and since we normally pack ear plugs when we travel so we had no issues with a sound sleep. Bed was really comfy by the way. Breakfast was quaint - the tamale offering is excellent - still thinking about it.

It was close to the neighborhood we wanted to stay in, so I would call it a win. They only have 8 rooms, which makes it a great BnB. The receptionists and doormen we've had the pleasure of meeting were all amazing. They were so kind and welcoming. The only downfall is the AC unit. We had sleepless nights because of it. In the middle of the night it would start making a buzzing noise, and not the kind of white noise you can sleep through either. It also didn't feel that cool at night, it was kind of humid. We didn't complain because everyone is so nice there! Hence the 4 stars for the AC... The place is homey and beautifully decorated. The mister and I really enjoyed our stay. We would definitely recommend it. There's plenty of places to walk around the area too. We used Uber, so it was convenient. It's only a 20 minute drive to and from the airport.

This is the best hotel I've stayed at in CDMX on approximately 30+ trips here. This includes the W (nope), Westin (uh-uh), Sheraton (chaos, if there's a demonstration - and there usually is one ongoing), even the St. Regis, Ritz-Carlton and JW Marriott - all too stuffy. Santiago from NJ, by way of the NYU Shanghai campus, was excellent and almost everyone here speaks English perfectly. I felt like I was in NYC, except that the service was better and the staff was much more accommodating. Breakfast was included, nothing spectacular, but everything was solid, good coffee, fresh fruit, fresh pastries, good jams and yogurt. Perfect, light start to the day. The room was not big, but well laid out with every amenity, refrigerator, beverages, Nespresso machine, bottled water and a selection of assorted snacks - all complimentary (except alcohol, unnecessary with all the good bars nearby). The gym was literally situated in a single hotel room on the lower floor. It was tiny, but fully equipped for a one-person, HIIT session. The single issue was the incessant bass drone from the bar nearby. Earplugs didn't work because it wasn't possible to mask the low Hz frequency effectively. Every major museum was about a 25 minute stroll through scenic neighborhoods to get to. Some of the best restaurants (Nobu, Sylvestre) were around the corner. All in all this is probably the best place to stay in CDMX. If not for the bass from the bar, which was totally not the hotel's fault, this was probably the quietest hotel I've ever stayed in Mexico (no children or pets, I think, but not sure). No drunk teens shouting in the hallways - idyllic. About $500-$700/night depending on date. Totally worth it.

The space itself is stunning and beautifully decorated yet very comfortable. Elvia and the team provided top notch customer service with care - we especially appreciated the delicious breakfast every morning. My partner and I are a lesbian couple and felt very safe, definitely a very LGBTQIA+ friendly hotel! We loved the neighborhood, San Rafael, for its authenticity, history, food, and proximity to a lot of other things on our itinerary. Right upon arrival, we were greeted by incredible architectural and design details, an amazing staff, and the most adorable dog, Bonito. Axel and Elvia and were attentive and didn't mind our millions of questions or requests (including using their laundry service or where to get the best tacos within walking distance!). Our room was cozy and calming resulting in restful sleep, and the fresh fruit and delicious Mexican breakfast in the mornings by Nora and Lupita was the absolute best way to start our day. Finally, housekeeping made it so we'd always return to an inviting and tidy room every evening with a fresh jug of water. I was drawn to El Patio 77 for its charm and pledge to sustainability, and it did not disappoint. A few things to note (which didn't hinder our experience whatsoever, but might be useful for other travelers): Location: El Patio 77 is located in the charming and quiet neighborhood of San Rafael, but a lot of our planned activities were in Roma Norte or Condesa. We knew this at the time of booking, and were excited to be a little further away from the city center. This did mean about a 20-40 minute Uber ride most of the time (depending on traffic), or a long meandering walk. My partner and I both love walking and felt pretty safe in the area, so this was not a problem for us. I encourage visitors to spend some time in the neighborhood and check out local shops and restaurants. Rooms: It's an old home with lots of quirks, which means you may hear movement throughout the house. We stayed in the Veracruz room which we loved and got great sleep in, but it did get a little warm at night. There was a fan in the room which helped tremendously, and we'd wake up to the smell of coffee and breakfast cooking on the nights we kept the window open (this was an incredible way to wake up). Bathroom: In our room, and I imagine in others as well, there was no door to the bathroom, only a doorway. It's not so different than most hotel rooms these days, but if you are planning on sharing the room with someone and aren't comfortable with the bathroom arrangement, this is something to note. Luckily the property is absolutely beautiful with a number of calm corners where, if someone needs privacy, the other person can go and read a book, work on their laptop, etc. All in all, we loved our time here and look forward to returning to CDMX and staying at El Patio 77 once again! Big shout out to Bonito, Alan (the owner), and the entire team for making this a magical little spot.

Breakfast was standard: sliced fruit, toast, juice and a warmer main dish. The weekend fare was a bit fresher and tastier. Transportation: it was located 3 long blocks from a metro and directly in front of a bus line. With the connections, going to the city center is about 20 min. We opted to walk, which was about 25 min at a moderate place. So if you want to be away from the bustle, and be able to stumble across cute coffee shops and eateries, this is a good spot. Rooms: the room we chose felt very cramped. We chose the bedroom with 2 beds, advertised as larger than we expected, thinking the sleeping arrangement would be easier on our different travel body clocks. But we do not recommend it - go for another room if you plan to stay more than a couple nights. We peaked into the others and they were significantly larger.
