Dishonest lying liars... Sad to leave this review as I initially had a pleasant experience... Dr.Kopec did a mental health evaluation for a workplace assault on a workman's comp claim. He wrote the date of injury incorrectly by over 30 days. I noticed that this was an issue and called to have it amended the next day. I was told that no changes would be made, I asked to speak to Dr.Kopec and was told "he called in sick today." I looked up the law RCW 70.02.100 that states "For purposes of accuracy or completeness, a patient may request in writing that a health care provider correct or amend its record of the patient's health care information to which a patient has access under RCW 70.02.080." I went into the office to hand in a written request for amending the error. I was not allowed to enter the building. They locked the doors and told me that they were closed. A patient arrived for an appointment with Dr.Kopec shortly after, he was indeed at work avoiding his mistakes by lying about his presence. They unlocked the doors and let the patient into the building. I was told that because LNI had already paid, I was not allowed in the building. Not only was I refused the ability to submit my written request for amending mistakes, but I was lied to multiple times. After an hour I called back to speak to a manager where I was again refused basic human decency and told that the amendment had been made without my written consent in an effort to cover their tracks. This was done illegally and I was advised to seek legal counsel for how I was treated and the emotional distress inflicted. These people are liars. Plain and simple. They will discriminate based on your insurance, and once they get paid they will literally lock you out of the building to prevent you from filing paperwork they will not be paid to process. I am extremely emotionally distressed and distraught by my treatment and have spoken to an attorney about legal representation. They're cash grabbing liars that will lock you out to prevent doing necessary paperwork if they are not being paid extra. I have video of them yelling at me from behind their locked door, refusing to let me file my amendment paperwork supported by Washington state law RCW 70.02.100. They lied multiple times and are dishonest by nature while breaking the law. This should not be acceptable in any industry let alone a trusted mental care provider. I am still unable to speak to Dr.Kopec or schedule an appointment to address these issues. Avoidance and neglect. I hope they get their money as it seems to be the only matter of concern at this establishment. Would not recommend to my worst enemy. read more

My appointment with Dr. Brosious at Puget Mental Care was one of the most frustrating healthcare experiences I've ever had. I paid $180 for the visit expecting professional, compassionate care, but instead felt dismissed, ridiculed, and completely unsupported. My concerns were brushed off, and no meaningful treatment or prescription was offered despite my clear need. Rather than feeling heard, I left feeling belittled, mocked and worse off than when I walked in. If you value empathy and respectful mental health care, I would urge you to look elsewhere. I am honestly confused by all of the very negative reviews. My daughter has been going to Dr Kopek for over 3 years. She is 19 now and I attend the appointments with her. We have always had a positive experience. I have never felt like he does not listen. He has said things that I did not agree with and I felt that he listened to my concerns. Many reviews have bashed him because he suggests for his patients to not use marijuana. Dr Kopek was also worried about my daughter's use of occasional marijuana. He never said he would not treat her, even though it was illegal as she is underage. And guess what, he was completely correct. She has had several scary episodes where her body reacted negatively to using marijuana, likely due to her underlying mental health issues. I have never had trouble scheduling an appointment or obtaining refills. There are rules for mental health refills, such as being seen when advised. You may have trouble getting a refill if you do not schedule your appointments as advised. But this is for every doctor office for any medication, especially mental health meds. read more

As others have stated "Dr." Kopec deserves ZERO stars. He is unkind, unprofessional, extremely judgmental, and passive aggressively sarcastic. I am unsure why he works in mental health when he has so little empathy. Red Flags I wish I hadn't ignored: 1) Don't ignore the reviews. The bad reviews are 100% accurate. I ignored them because I was desperate for help and I absolutely regret it. 2) Kopec is an anti-vaxxer. I had an in-office visit in Jan 2021 and asked when I could get the covid vaccine. Kopec stated that he wasn't going to get vaccinated because he didn't believe that the studies were conclusive. wtf 3) My final med review with Kopec lasted exactly 7 minutes where Kopec literally shamed me for asking for anti-depressants. I have a history of depression and have taken meds for 15+ years. Kopec told me I wasn't "sad" enough for anti-depressants and that I don't like working since I took the day off to try to get help. Kopec then handed me a 30 day mood tracking journal so that I could prove to him that I needed meds. While I was scheduling my follow-up appt, Kopec said I didn't need to make one and sarcastically added that I should remember to call and cancel it. Well, Kopec sounds like you confused psychiatrist with "psychic" when figuring out your life's calling because I canceled my appt 2 days later. read more

This man brushed off my concerns and put me on a cocktail of meds that landed me in the hospital for 5 days. When I got out and had to follow-up with him, he blamed it on the fact that I had smoked marijuana on occasion. I would only recommend Dr. Kopec to my enemies. read more

I'm confused about the low rating for this office but I also don't have the same doctor as everyone that is upset, so who knows. Personally, my doctor is Dr. Brosius and he is great, making my experience far different that the others rating. He is very attentive and addresses every concern about my life and about medications and side effects. Amnity is thoughtful, compassionate, and knowledgeable. She helped me through the postpartum period and was able to squeeze me in when I needed prompt support. The office staff have always been quick to answer the phones and communication has been good. I have been using this office for years and would recommend them to others. read more

Very poor experience. Five minutes into my first visit he wanted to prescribe me drugs without discussing any of my medical history. He asked if I used cannabis and I told him that I occasionally did. He then went on a rant about how cannabis was masking my anxiety and making me unstable. He confessed that he refuses to treat people who abuse federally controlled substances. Keep in mind, we never discussed anything medical and anxiety was not the reason I was even seeing him. He said he'd seen enough patients to just know what was wrong by looking at me. He never asked me questions pertaining to an actual condition, and he never did any kind of analysis. He just tried to give me drugs and guilt me for using cannabis. After presuming that I had mental conditions that were never actually vetted, he told me he'd never treat me if I used cannabis, and that 15 years from now I'll look back and thank him for being hard on me. In my opinion, this is totally unacceptable from a healthcare provider, especially mental health. His presumptuousness and overall arrogance was astounding. I demanded he give me something since I had paid for the office visit already, so he printed some vitamins from Amazon and told me to buy them and they'd make me feel better. read more

Dr Kopeck asked me two questions about if I had friends or no I said no due to being bullied mixed with my depression he went on to make an assumption that I was autistic because I didn't have any friends and had poor communication skills literally took no test asked 2 questions and said I had some autism like what the heck, that alone pissed me off and the fact that he acts like he's a god doesn't help please if you need help go somewhere else also he told me my blood pressure wasn't high because of my weight and told me to see a hypnotist to lower my blood pressure which I think is dumb as hot shit read more

DO NOT GO HERE - These people are frauds. They are more concerned with getting your money then helping. The providers are rude and condescending. When I asked one for a roadmap, or some expectation what treatment would look like, he told me 'he couldn't say' and insisted: 'it takes time', 'we'll see more next time' and other vague dodges. They would give me instructions like "Do this a few times a week" and when I asked for more specific instructions I was called hostile. To be clear, the provider insisted that he "was following a process", and then refused to give me any details about the process, giving more vague non-answers. Further, Is it really appropriate for someone engaged in treatment of mental health to resort to name calling? When I complained, they told me if I don't like it I can go elsewhere, so I asked for my money back. The manager said "This isn't Target, you can't have your money back if you're unhappy with the service." Then he insisted they are not a service provider and I only paid for an opinion. They then insisted I leave before the police were called. read more

The administrative staff here is incompetent. I asked for a refill a month ago and I keep getting the run around, promises and no action. I have been without my medication for days because those who are supposed to keep the clinic moving apparently have more important things to do than attend to their patients' needs. I'm reading all of the 1 star ratings and I can't not chuckle a little at these reasons. I read one that says he is "blunt" he is, he doesn't tip toe around subjects and gives his PROFESSIONAL opinion. So if you are sensitive and take offense easily then move along rather than giving him a sh*tty review cause you can't handle it. If you know some medical stuff and suggest something that he might think could work or be helpful he doesn't put his nose in the air and act like an arrogant a-hole like some he listens. He cares about his patients regardless of what you read here. Maybe the other ratings he didn't treat them the way they are used to. He is different but he is amazing. If something isn't working, he changes it until it does, and I'm not talking about giving you another med to fix the side effects. He wants you on the least amount of meds you need to be on. He isn't a magician, he doesnt know how you will react to a med and neither will you but the second you go to him and express your concern he does something about it. I've been to some that just tell you to sit tight and wait... he isn't the waiting type, he wants you better. If something isn't working and its clear he looks in other directions. He is the best DNP (not a psychiatrist)I have ever come across. I'm grateful for him and the care I have received, he helped me get my life back after I was an inpatient for a week, and because of him I am laughing and smiling again. I will forever be grateful for this man and his wife, she is lovely and super friendly. As to the rating that said they are all about the money.... it is a valid concern that people be insured and able to pay. That does not make them money greedy its them protecting their business and his time. No one wants to fight to get paid by uninsured or insurance that doesn't cover them. Get it together. The rating (on a diff site) that said "abusive psychiatric experience I've ever had. Robert Kopec is manipulative, abusive, careless, and completely unprofessional" makes me laugh, this is a perfect example of someone who can not handle a different kind of care. He will not coddle you or tell you what you WANT to hear, he tells you what you NEED to hear to better yourself. His concerns with marijuana are valid. So if you are all for that then don't see him, find someone else who isn't about getting to the bottom of your problems and will support this method of "treatment". Dr. Kopec is a very intelligent and caring provider who clearly wants to help his patients, but does not hesitate when he feels he needs to tell someone something straight. He comes from Europe where doctors are not all smiles and superficial niceties, but professionals who don't beat around the bush. As for the use of marijuana's influence on the efficacy of medications and the course of mental states and illness, obviously Dr. Kopec is correct: the use of marijuana can bring on various psychological states and even prompt mental illness in patients who had previously not shown symptoms. So those who need to do more research are in fact those who complain for example that Dr. Kopec doesn't know what he is talking about when it comes to marijuana. If you've got mental problems, persisting in your smoking of marijuana certainly will in many cases certainly not facilitate treatment. read more

Dr kopec and his staff have helped me in more ways than I can begin to write. I had been misdiagnosed all my life and he took the time to find out the true issue and ever since my life is in control. Adhd is a major hindrance and can look like many disorders if not treated. I am grateful to this doctor for helping me find order in my chaos filled brain. I highly recommend. Especially being one who isnt much into talking about myself or my issues, it helped that he can read body language and see the truth without me having to say much. It's been over a year and I only see positive progress. And his front office is the most friendly ladies I've met in a long while. read more

First, prepare yourself for the 22-page questionnaire. Second, expect that Dr. Kopec will diagnose you based on that questionnaire. I hadn't been sitting in his chair for 10 minutes when he informed me I am bipolar -- and my father and daughter are bipolar as well (despite never having met either). 10 minutes! I have been diagnosed with clinical depression and have seen many mental health practitioners over the years - NONE of which have identified me as bipolar. He also handed me samples of a medication which I researched online and discovered is a method of treating schizophrenia. Finally, and most importantly, his manner is very condescending and belittling. I went to him for help but left his office in tears -- feeling far worse than when I walked in the door. This was a terrible experience I will not be repeating. read more

To start off, I would strongly advise against seeing this doctor. You will leave more stressed than when you arrived. I have an extensive background with psychiatrists and have been on several medications because of a few diagnoses. I spent at most 15 minutes with this doctor, barely touching on my past issues, when he brings up my use of cannabis. He told me some pretty outrageous things that cannabis can do like making me psychotic and make my anxiety and depression worse than what it is. He clearly does not know anything about cannabis, as I have never felt any of these issues while high on it. I have had mental issues since I was 7 years old and have been on various medication since then. I only started smoking cannabis about 4 years ago and have seen no change in the anxiety or depression while intoxicated. AGAIN, I have had my mental health issues since 7, and when I am on medication I can live a normal life. However, according to this guy, all of my problems are from cannabis, THAT I STARTED SMOKING 4 YEARS AGO. I just wanted to go back on medication, not have an aggressive talking too about my cannabis use and end up leaving with more stress. Every doctor I have seen in the four years of smoking cannabis has known about it, and never once have I had a negative response regarding my use. I know it has it's problems, but cannabis is not why I am a psychotic mess. Dr. Kopec, I suggest you study some more about this topic. read more
