My husband and I, along with our family, have been loyal customers of Puglia's Produce for many years. Unfortunately, after today's experience, we will not be returning. I noticed that fruits and vegetables are now being sold pre-batched in baskets, without allowing customers to choose their own produce. I attempted to purchase Champagne mangoes, which were packaged in sets of two. In every batch, one mango was clearly good while the other was rotten or overripe. I tried to pick 2 good mangoes instead, and without warning, a short heavy set woman came up behind me, pushed me, snatched the mangoes out of my hands, and told me I had to purchase them "as is." I was then told they were "only $1 each," as if customers should accept rotten produce simply because it is inexpensive. No customer should be treated this way, especially loyal shoppers who have supported this business for years. Selling spoiled produce bundled with good produce and expecting customers to pay for both feels dishonest and unfair. Buyers should be aware of what is happening here. Produce and plants are exceptional, decent prices. Cider is the best around when in season. Most of the employees are nice and helpful. I do avoid the owner because I don't care to hear about his extreme political views, but he has good products at a fair price so I'll give him my business and credit for that! read more

People who don't like the sign out front can keep it moving. Freedom of speech and why not be proud of what you believe in?! I don't know why anyone would find it offensive. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions and if that offends you then that says more about you than the sign. They have beautiful flowers and nice produce. Large selection of grow your own veggies and fruits. Some staff are rude but the majority have always been nice to me. Prices are expensive but you get what you pay for. I bought my flowers a couple weeks ago and they're thriving and I'm getting so many compliments on them. read more

The flowers and produce are mediocre at best, but I had been going there because it was convenient. After viewing his disgusting sign, I will never spend another penny at his market and I have many friends who feel the same. I whole heartedly believe in freedom of speech and have the greatest respect for other peoples' opinions even when I don't agree with them. Very stupid move to insult people upon whom you rely for your livelihood. I don't understand this WOK terminology, but if it means wanting people to be treated equally, if it means respecting people who are different, if it means including everyone and if it means being empathetic and caring, then I am most definitely WOK. I wish you a successful season, as for me and my many WOK friends, we will be taking our business elsewhere. Some suggestions for others who feel the same way: Bloomers' plants are far more hardy and they offer a 20% military discount on everything and that includes veterans. My husband is a Vietnam vet. While everyone is entitled to their own opinions on currents events or political issues, I'd expect, at bare minimum, proper use of contractions. This has nothing to do with the actual business more so one employee. I was in cvs earlier and there was a woman being extremely hostile with the cashier and i assume the supervisor that were there. I understand people get frustrated but she followed the supervisor to the office and was pounding on the door. No matter the situation there was no need for the aggression. I only know it was the same woman because after my cvs trip i stopped over at puglias because my mom loves the flowers from there but after seeing the same person there I decided to leave in case i ended up treated the same way. read more

Would be a ZERO if that was an option. Stopped in today to buy some plants for my garden. As I was looking at some perennials, a woman (if you call her that) was stocking plants. She mumbled something I didn't really hear and then when I didn't respond, she blurted out "ok well I won't say shit else to you then". In shock, I say to her, "excuse me are you talking to me?" She ignored me and walked away. Minutes later, she returned I asked her again and she replied very rudely "It don't matter". Needless to say, I had to tell her a few choice words, dirty b Never!!!!!!!! Never!!!!!!! Never will I ever set foot on that property, buy anything or recommend anyone to this trash place. read more

Update: This place is still marred by employees with serious attitude problems, which is a shame when they have such great plants and produce available. Today I was there to finally get some annuals and big flower pots for my summer yard. I followed routine, didn't load up my car until I'd had a polite young man write up my receipt and pay inside - over $200 worth of plants, I might add. As I'm loading up my car an older woman comes up to me and asks "Can I write that up for you?" I'm huffing and sweating a bit as it's hot out and I've just loaded 4 large planters so I tell her I already did so and paid inside. She gives me a major stink eye like she doesn't believe me. I tell her "hold on, I'll show you my receipt" (which was under the planters I now had to move.) And she says, "Yeah, I'm gonna ask to see it since you're giving me attitude." Me?! She's the one accusing me of being a thief! I hand her the receipt, she glares angrily at it for a while and then FLINGS it into the trunk of my car, on top of my plants, muttering still about my "attitude" and "just doing my job" while storming off. I have to say their need to broadcast their politics on their roadsign is a bit of a turn-off as well. Don't know what it has to do with selling produce but I think, sadly, I'll take my business elsewhere from now on. read more

This place needs to be reported to the state and fined or shut down. I'm the midst of COVID-19, not one employee was wearing a mask or gloves. All customers shopping were wearing masks. This place obviously has no regards for the safety of their customers. I turned around and walked out. You will never get my business again. I've been to other farmers markets and farm stands in the area and they are following state mandated regulations. So I'll continue to frequent them and not Puglias. read more

I usually do not go to any farm market in the middle of the day, but needed a few vegetables for dinner. Two weeks ago, I would have given Puglia's a four star rating. I had gone in the morning and at that time, Puglia's was following the stay safe rules. Today, May 23rd, I have to give them a 1. Out of all the workers that I saw between 3-3:30, only two of them were wearing their mask correctly. Most of the young adults were wearing the masks on their chins. A few workers had no mask whatsoever. Puglia's did have signs posted that said to stay 6 feet apart, but there is no system or monitoring in place (at least for today), especially at checkout. People were crowding together at the register when I was checking out making me very uncomfortable. I won't be back for a while. read more

Have been shopping here over 35 years and have no idea why a business owner would insult his many long time customers with angry political signage that could offend many of them. I have been shopping at puglias almost 4 years now and I am shocked as I look through these reviews. I saw the employees in masks ALL season. BC Iv seen many people working outside without them and was pleased they were following the rules. Not only have I never had a problem with their staff... In shop or registers...But they dollar produce section-ITS amazing... NOone has NJ melons like Puglias. believe me I have looked far and wide. In the fall... Their nightshade vegetables are off the hook! Their absolutely perfect. I go here every week and will Never stop. Sorry to see so many bad reviews. Felt I should show the other side. Just went last week for a bouquet of flowers and some fruit...everyone was very nice, they have a large selection of produce and flowers. I didn't have on a mask because I was OUTSIDE and I didn't even notice if the workers did or not because I'm a normal human being and I'm not concerned with other people's health choices.
