However not so with Dr. Oktaei! She has been the only dentist to date who has proven time and time again - to perform various dental procedures on me using only local freezing with unbelievable pain free success. From dental cleanings. repairing a broken molar, needing to extract teeth, to fixing my numerous cavities - Dr. Oktaei has successfully performed all of these dental procedures on me using only local freezing - without me feeling any pain! Also every dental procedure provided lasting results without complications. For example, just recently I needed emergency dental surgery to have my upper wisdom teeth. extracted. I still recall how anxious I was fearing the worst since I was over 50 years old. Where having my wisdom teeth pulled at this stage presented certain risks and possible complications as I was told by oral surgeons at the Emergency Department. Being put under general anesthesia or using Nitrous Oxide gas also presented other risks. So I opted to have my wisdom teeth extracted by Dr. Oktaei using local freezing only. To this day I remain amazingly surprised at Dr. Oktaei's skill and ability to pull both of my wisdom teeth so quickly and efficiently using only local freezing. Before I knew it - both teeth were extracted without me feeling ANY PAIN through out the entire procedure. I also had no complications afterwards. Needless to say, over the past 5 years of being Dr. Oktaei's patient - I cannot but praise her enough! Her knowledge and skills to address and fix any dental problems I have presented has been resolved with ease. In additional to her professional expertise the added bonus is that she exudes such an amazing warm personable disposition towards all of her patients She truly cares about her patients' oral health, she listens to her patients' voiced concerns and alleviates one's fears. What I also love about her is that she presents to her patients various available options to resolve a particular dental problem and then gives the patient the choice before proceeding with the dental work. She also never compromises on the quality of dental services performed. Her dental practice is also very price conscientious which helps patients who may not have a dental insurance plan. Her clinic also offers a reasonable dental payment plan for those on a limited income. They are brief in their summaries and tell you everything you could do rather than help guide you towards what you should do. They are particularly bad at pediatric dentistry. When my son was getting one of his first check-ups, it became evident he was missing two front teeth. The dentist proceeded to use the term "recessive gene" three times and claimed my family must have the same "recessive gene" problem -- we don't, neither do members of my wife's family -- and then made me feel stupid for not noticing this issue. New parents need to feel supported with their children's health. These dentists made me feel ashamed and confused. When my son was about to get his first cavity filled at 4 years old, the dentist first claimed it would be very challenging cause it was late in the day, then had us come back later in the week first thing in the morning, then gave up and referred us to pediatric dentistry, which we should have done in the first place. It was a tremendous waste our time and frankly I'm appalled by their righteous attitude. Also, they don't do direct billing, so be prepared to pay up front fully even if you have coverage. Don't get me wrong. These dentists are skilled and trained. They know dentistry. Their attitude sucks. I have seen medical specialists my entire life and I'm very attuned to who demonstrates care and who just treats appointments as work. Leaside made us feel like a job and not people. So, I did, and was under the guidance of the front desk girl, that I would receive this money back once my insurance paid my balance. To my dismay, this did not happen. In fact, after reaching out to my insurance provider I discovered that the claims were bring made with an incorrect birthdate, meaning the only reason they were denying my claim was because the information didn't match my records. Once this mistake was pointed out, instead of returning the balance, the dentist chose to instead take as many x-rays and do as much work as possible to effectively fill my claim maximum for the year. I was never given back my money, the claims were all forced through over a long period of time, outside of the time the work was done, and worse still I receive notice that I am, in fact in debt to this dental office. Further, the last time, I visited this office, was for pain in my tooth, at the same location as previous work done by the dentist less than a month prior. Upon my arrival, the assistant opted to take x-rays, after my queries and strange looks prompted by my past experience, she informed me "don't worry you won't be charge for the x-rays, this is to fix a tooth we've already worked on, it wouldn't be right." Moments later, the. Dentist arrived and abrasively told the assistant to charge me for the x-rays before quickly going into my mouth, poking the painful problem tooth before claiming that it was not the problem, but in fact several other teeth that were not in pain. After this interaction I cancelled the rest of the appointment and left abruptly. I will not pay and outstanding balance as I did not agree to any additional product and left your office with pain in my jaw that I didn't previously have. To re-iterate, this is the second time you have sent me notice and will be the second angry letter you get from me. I will be posting this review online as you seem to have not taking the letter as sufficient notice. Stop messaging me, the next prompt will result in legal action; I will pursue this missing $500 as well as report my complaints to the RCDSO. I have no moral reservations or conflict in escalating this issue, leave me the hell alone.
