I don't know what happened to this company over the last decade or so, but the experience we just…read morehad is not even close to the previous 2-3 times we've used them. Estimator came out, and first told me that the type of gate we were looking for simply did not exist, despite the fact that I showed him half a dozen videos of the gate we were looking for in operation at other sites. He never ran a tape measure to get accurate measurement, and he didn't listen to our needs. Sent over an estimate for a cedar fence when we requested a bid for iron. The bid included prices for both a manual and an automatic gate, and the difference between the two bids was astronomical. Looked up slide gate operators. The most expensive operators come in at about a fifth of what San Joaquin wants to charge, and that gate operator is literally the only difference between the two bids. San Joaquin makes it clear in their bid that electrical wiring of the unit is not included, so the upcharge isn't due to subbing out to an electrician or anything. I called to clarify. A "partner" told me the quote is accurate and talked over me at every point. 500% markup for parts is predatory.

The 2' wide, 12 gauge ground wire is held down with landscape pins and hog ringed at the corner. A great crew, professional, friendly, and efficient. There were a few hiccups, mostly due to COVID -19 and the supply chain. Nice, functional dog fence and gates which are working well. I have 152 acres and I might need San Joaquin Fence again. When I called the first time I had been promised on 6/20 that I would have my estimate by 6/22. No problem. I called later 6/23 for an update, no big deal. I was told that my message would get to my estimator and they would follow up. Awesome. I call 6/28 and had an unpleasant phone call with Kendra. She, by the end of it hung up on me because "they are so very busy". I didn't even have the opportunity to ask her a solid time frame to follow up since the owner of the renovation I'm working on wanted a price after already waiting weeks for it. I'm not certain why they feel like regular questions are insulting or disrespectful. However, that's how they will treat them. If a company doesn't think communicating effectively is necessary, then you shouldn't be in customer service.
