So grateful for these guys. They know what they are doing AND they are HONEST with pricing. I started going here a few months ago after my forever mechanic closed and I feel I lucked out. So I wanted to share to help someone else find a good mechanic. They will not rip you off like a lot of those other places. Services that I have had so far: oil change, car check, tire rotation, new wheel bearings and some other stuff around this done, they have fixed my tire on another occasion and most recently helped me to secure something to my car for a fraction of the price another place was trying to charge me. You can't go wrong. Not to mention their waiting room is very comfy and has large cushioned seats while you wait. They also have a fair price on gas also. If I could give a negative rating I would. We picked our car up from being worked on after spending a profound amount of money. A day later the issue persist and is now worse. received a text message from VInce to follow up with how the car was running, obviously responded with the current state of the vehicle. no response. The vehicle barely made it to the shop to see what was going on, only to be met with the most unprofessional customer service experience ever. Friendly but a bit behind the times, neighborhood automotive station. Best price for gas within 3-4 miles. Better also if you pay by cash for efficiency as the pumps are not outfitted to take credit cards individually. There also are not many pumps, 4 in total but there never seems to be too long a wait. so just took my truck to pullens they scanned my truck told me I need 2 air fuel ratio sensor and 2 o2 sensor told me it would be $2000 I said that high so they said to just replace the 2 air fuel sensor because that is what was effecting the performance of truck so they replaced them and all said and done bill was $1500. today I was driving truck and ran horrible I took it back and they told me basically nothing they could do but replace other sensor but won't resolve the driving issue and charge me another $189 to scan again. I really don't like be taking advantage of. I never have trusted mechanics. I will be contacting consumer affair. I will get my money back. read more

I called to get a diagnostic test run on my transmission as another shop didn't do transmission work but they felt my issue may be transmission related. Called for a cost estimate which was very reasonable compared to the dealership prices I had seen online. Brian (or Bryan) got me in 1st thing the next day. Brian, Kevin and the rest of the staff I interacted with were very friendly, knowledgeable, and didn't try to talk down to me or make me feel bad for not being a "car guy". They even went above and beyond in trying to diagnose the cause of my driving issue when the transmission was determined not to be the root cause of the problem. All in all a great experience. I've taken my car her a few times for different things that i needed. The last time I had taken my car in because I could smell gas and I wasn't sure where it was coming from. I take it in and they tell me what they need to replace and what the cost will be. Well he failed to mention that I was still being charged a diagnosed fee. I've never experienced this at any other car place if you decide to allow them to fix your car. I went to Pullen's to have my transmission replaced. This has been going on since November. They fixed my first transmission and before I even went five. Ike's, I could feel it "jumping." I brought it back immediately. One week later, I had no updates. When I called back, I was informed that my previous service guy has been terminate and they are doing everything to get work orders completed. Brian appeared sympathetic and promised he would get on it right away. Than we got another run around that they were waiting on the warranty company to tell them what was needed since I am under warranty. Once again it was me calling asking what was going on with different stories each time. Three weeks later, I have my car back. I had my car back a little over a month when I was driving it (mind you I was in the Poconos) and the car stalled. I got the car to move but wouldn't go over 20 mph. They ran. Diagnostic and 8 transmission codes came up. I called Brian again and he told me my warranty doesn't cover towing but if I can get my car back there (on my dime, they will look it over. They have had the car now for over two weeks and they are still waiting on the warranty company to get back to them. They are not communicating with me. Any and all updates are from me calling. Brian had a different excuse and reason each time I call. So far this new transmission has cost me car rentals Nd a tow. This latest problem has been going on now for almost three weeks. I wish I didn't even have to give this place one star. I am contacting the BBB today in regard to this situation. Hopefully will have a car again soon. But I have zero faith it will be fixed properly considering this is how the "3rd" transmission they are putting in my car! read more

I'm a fan of Pullen's because they consistently have the lowest prices in the immediate area, even though they could raise them a bit and still be lower than the X. The attendants are quick and very friendly. And you can pull up on either side of the pump due to long hoses(get your mind out of the gutter) I've heard good things about the garage, and they even have a small convenience store. Took my diesel vw there to find why the battery was dying ever few days. They said they had to wire harness it for $500. A week later they said it was the radio causing a short. When i picked it up after hours the radio was dangling from a cable in front of the shifter and my dashboard they took apart had all the parts lying on the floor. I took it home and two days later the battery was dead. I called the owner who said he would give me a 15% discount to check it again. I am a senior and half a grand is a lot of money for me. The car has been sitting in my driveway over half a year since. The dashboard is destroyed. I am now afraid to take it somewhere else for fear of getting ripped off again. This place used to be one of the best, with trusted mechanics and friendly staff, but in the past 5 years or so, they have really gone downhill. In the past 18 months alone, they have refunded me TWICE due to sloppy mechanic work - one of those times the mechanic failed to check my fluids during a routine oil change and sent me home with low engine coolant. Most recently, a part (a seatbelt latch) was replaced this past September and broke today without warning or reason, leaving me stranded with a young child 40 miles from home. When I spoke with Vinnie, the owner, he was both condescending and defensive and seemed completely unconcerned that there is a pattern of poor service coming from his shop. Perhaps there has been a bit too much attention paid to renovating the front office and not enough actually supervising mechanics. It's a real shame because this place used to be awesome and trustworthy, but no more. I'd sooner drive my car with Flinstone feet than give Pullens another dime. read more

I live in Pa but work in NJ and went to Pullens for a flat tire one morning and I keep going back for everything. So friendly and thorough and honest and their follow thru is aces. They give you a fair price and break down all the fees for you. They also have a shuttle service which is very helpful especially for us out-of-towners. This is the second time I had all transmission fluid leak out.. Had it towed or dollied to Pullen's with little hope.. My first choice was a dealership but at 10 years and 200k miles I was looking at salvage value. I would have started at -$140 and over a week for them to look at it. Pullen's found the leak in a day and saw a weld failed so they replaced the part and tested my transmission was good to go. I was hesitant to drive and review but after 200 miles and a heat wave later, the repair was great and better than before taking it to them. Coming from outside the county, Pullen's was given the highest internet rating in Mercer and addressed the problem explicitly and then some. I wish Union and Middlesex counties had a Pullen's! read more

Needed a car battery..ugh. Called around and got quotes..these guys were right in line, maybe a little cheaper. Place looks like not much on the outside, but they have a nice seating area inside, and a couple nice service managers. My battery was installed in maybe 20 minutes or so...they did a battery test for free which was nice. I mentioned the quote I'd gotten a couple hours earlier and that's what I was charged! Needed wiper blades, which I knew, and those were also right in line with what I would have paid in Wal Mart or something, PLUS they were in stock! (Every time I tried to buy them someplace at least one of my sizes was not in stock) So, they didn't try to sell me $1500 bucks worth of stuff that was not needed. Very happy with the service, and for not getting a lousy, "women are stupid" attitude like I had gotten at another garage a couple days earlier! We won't be back. :-( We've always felt comfortable coming here, but the last few visits have left us sour. Being charged the $60 diagnostic fee for a dead battery, (when we said when we brought it in, "We think it's the battery") and then putting a higher end battery ($120) in a car with 170,000 miles on it, just doesn't seem like they have our best interests in mind. And with this visit, we told them how we felt about the last visit, wanting to give them a chance to save our business, they waived the diagnostic fee for this service, which was a blown tire and bent rim. There wasn't much to figure out! Would that have been a $60 charge as well? And they still didn't initially offer the lowest mileage tire on the first round....again, for a car with 170,000 miles on it, a 40,000 mile tire is plenty! So, even with their "discounts" and the cheaper tires, we took it to STS and they beat their BEST price (at $328) by $83, (33%) paying $245. Oh, and then they "forgot" to put our tire back in our trunk when we said we weren't going to get the work done there, so when we took it elsewhere for an estimate, we didn't have the tire. So, while they are nice to deal with, we really are sad to be leaving, but can't pay 33% more because they're nice guys. read more

Do Yourself A Favor And Avoid This Place At All Costs. I Moved To An Apartment Complex Around the Corner From This Place. When I Had An Issue With My Car, I Spoke To Some Neighbors and People In Town Who Recommended Pullens. I Brought My Car In With A Check Engine Light On And Random Stalling. I Was Contacted A Few Hours Later And Was Told I Needed a New Idle Air Control Valve. I was Given A Price With Labor And Thought It Was Reasonable. When I Went To Pick Up The Car, I Was Told I Had To Pay A Diagnostics Fee On Top Of The Repair. I Argued This, But They Would Not Release The Car Without Paying. There Was No Mention Of This Up Front When I Dropped the Car Off Or When I was Contacted With a Quote. I Tried to Plead, With Them On This, But They would not Release The Car. Dealerships Don't Even Charge A Fee As Long As You Decide To Fix What Is Needed. To Make Matters Worse, I Had To Bring My Car Back The Next Day As The Car Was Idling Much Higher Than Normal After The Repair Was Done. They Called Me And Told me I Needed a New Electronic Control Unit Which Would Have Been Over $2,000.00. I Took My Car Out This Place And Went Somewhere Else. The Place I Brought My Car Had to Change the Idle Air Control Valve Again, Since It was a Faulty Part. This Resolved The Issue With My Car And It Was Fine After That. I Stopped Into Pullens a Few Days Later With the Faulty Valve They Installed Asking For a Refund and I was Told to Leave As I was Interfering With Business. I Will Not Go Here Anymore, Not Even For Fuel. read more

I have had 3 cars and have been going to Pullens for service and spent many hundreds of dollars there. In March 2017 I got a battery for one of my cars. It kept dying. I took the car back in October 2017 and they told me to make sure to run the car for 15 minutes every week. Not helpful. Got a new battery at another place (the Pullen's battery still under warranty) and after much discussion they offered a new battery. Didn't need it anymore. Asked for a refund or discount on my next service call. "Vinnie" never called me back. Will find a new garage. read more

I am very particular about my vehicle and I brought it here for BG Trans Flush knowing that it was a simple process. The shop is much nicer than the outside appearance would lead one to believe. It took 2 days to do something that should have been a 2 hour job, that is the only reason they did not get 5 stars. The people there are very professional and are willing to listen. I was very particular about the parts used on my car and there was a mix up with their supplier. I would go back for service, and my only wish was that it was a more timely service. I gave them all the info up front and the delay could have been avoided. But, the end product was a positive experience. read more
