Dr. Ronan was the third pulmonologist I sought care from and have never looked back. She's EXTREMELY smart, up-to-date on all current medical research, spends so much time with each patient, and is genuinely invested in your well-being and health. I have a habit of googling and researching my symptoms and diagnoses and this is not always received well by other doctors I've had. However, Dr. Ronan encourages me to do this, as she knows the patient is an expert on their own bodies, so she wants to take into consideration any possible theories you may have about what's going on. In addition to Dr. Ronan, her staff are amazing. Her MA is quick and responsive. They have the prior authorization process down and will work to challenge insurance companies if initially given a denial. I've told Dr. Ronan that I literally owe her my life. She brought me back from the lowest point in my life, due to chronic illness, to a place where I can live a happy, healthy, "normal" life of a 42 year old. She never gave up, even though my conditions were complex and took a lot of trial and error, and was along side me through everything. Everyone deserves a doctor like Dr. Ronan!

I called the office and Maggie the scheduler, was able to get me in to see Dr. Bridgett Ronan in a few days. The office assisted me in having my CT scan results sent to their office prior to my visit. Once I arrived at the office they checked my temperature before I entered the lobby, ensuring the safety of all patients present in the waiting area. Kasia, the doctor's assistant checked my vitals and gave me a brief pulmonary function test. She was very friendly but also very efficient. Shortly after I was checked into the room, Dr. Ronin arrived and explained my CT scan in great detail. She was warm and friendly at the same time very professional. She not only explained the results of my CT scan, she showed me the images and how she arrived at her determination. She took a lot of time explaining my condition and I felt very confident in her advice. She did deliver good news but I must say that even if she were giving me not such good news, she would have done it in a very detailed and compassionate way. I will be followed by Dr. Ronin for the foreseeable future to monitor my condition, and I really look forward to seeing her again. I'm 61 years old and Dr. Ronin is one of the best doctors I've ever encountered. I would recommend her to anyone who wants a very knowledgeable, educated, warm and compassionate doctor.

I really like Dr. Bohan, but the East Valley Clinic is a disaster…read more At my 2nd appointment (10:30 AM), I waited more than 2 hours and was told I'd be "the next patient after lunch". I LEFT. Currently I've been trying for nearly a week to reschedule an appointment. I've never reached a real person and have left 4 messages. No one has returned any of my calls.

I am submitting this complaint regarding Dr. Arturo Castro Jr. at East Valley Center for Pulmonary…read more& Sleep Disorder due to unprofessional conduct, dissemination of false information, and what I believe to be retaliatory patient abandonment. My wife has stage four lung cancer. Over the past three months, she has been repeatedly hospitalized at Banner Hospital and Mercy Gilbert Hospital due to tumor progression in her lungs and recurrent pneumonia. During these hospitalizations, Dr. Castro was one of the physicians who evaluated her. One day prior to my wife's discharge from the hospital, I spoke directly with Dr. Castro and requested that oxygen be arranged for her transportation home and continued home use. Dr. Castro stated that he would not order oxygen unless my wife came to his office for a follow-up appointment first, after which he would submit an order to Preferred Home Care. I explained that during prior hospitalizations, oxygen was arranged directly by the hospital before discharge. Dr. Castro responded that this "is not how it works" and that my wife "would not be approved" unless she first saw him in his office. This information was false. Hospitals are fully able to arrange discharge oxygen when medically necessary, which was later confirmed by hospital staff and another pulmonologist. The interaction left me with the strong impression that Dr. Castro was intentionally creating barriers in order to force an office visit before providing medically necessary equipment. Because my wife was extremely weak, we planned to follow up with pulmonology once she stabilized. After discharge, we contacted the same office to schedule an appointment with a different pulmonologist. At that time, we were told by office staff that my wife's name had been marked in the system as "Do Not Accept Patient" under Dr. Castro's instructions. I was shocked. My wife has done nothing wrong. She is a critically ill cancer patient who requires medical care. Blocking her from accessing any physician in that practice appears retaliatory and punitive simply because I questioned inaccurate information provided by Dr. Castro. This behavior raises serious concerns: * Retaliation against a patient * Interference with access to care * Dissemination of false medical and administrative information * Possible patient abandonment Physicians take an oath to place patient welfare first. Denying or obstructing care to a terminally ill patient because a family member questioned incorrect information is unacceptable. My wife is fighting for her life. She should never be used as leverage in a personal or financial dispute. I am requesting that this matter be formally reviewed and documented. I also strongly advise patients to be cautious when seeking care from this provider.

When I was there a few months ago for my appointment that is scheduled annually on a Monday, they had failed to call me to let me know my provider wasn't going to be there, they did get me placed with another person, but not really any apologies, and they called all the other patients to cancel all the appointments for the day, even with the front desk lady talking about how they knew the provider wasn't going to be there the past Friday, she just didn't take the time to call and cancel that day. Then they called and left a message to reschedule my husband's appointment back this past Nov. and luckily he still had the voicemail, because of course, they didn't actually put it on the books and he showed up for his appointment and they didn't have it! Didn't care either until he played the voicemail for Amanda and it was her that made the call! The office staff are seriously making us consider changing pulmonary offices.

Last month, I came in to see Dr. Ahmed and had been on steroids for a week. He told me I was wheezing but told me to just keep on the same dose of steroids and that I would be fine. This whole practice has become nothing but money hungry. Requiring multiple appointments to get routine care. Also continued to order labs that were not necessary and that Medicare would not pay for as I had no diagnoses to support them. I was told Medicare requires every 6 month "wellness " visits which is not true. I am extremely healthy and require no concentrated medical care. I certainly do not need all these labs drawn every 3-6 months. My diagnosis list included things I had never had nor been treated for. In this day and age we all need to be good stewards of our Medicare dollars. I am a RN and know Medicare guidelines very well. I do not recommend you go there. We all must be active participants in our healthcare and this is not the place for this!
