A friend of mine told me about "Sara Flowers". Basically, she's the go to person in Toronto for flowers. If you're looking for someone who knows their stuff and has talent and is still affordable despite the hype. When I visited, I chatted with her and she's done stuff like Rob Ford funeral, stores like LV, restos like Kasa Motto, Chase, etc. I went in and basically said do what you think is right, after giving her some general instructions, and watching her work, she really is brilliant. In terms of the actual store itself, I was really impressed at the stuff they're carrying. There's a large retail front selling house items, and gift items. Very cool stuff actually. The card section is excellent. Hilarious actually. Everyone's got succulents, but these guys also carry coral cactus (the only store in Toronto I've seen so far). They also carry Parkhill Candles (really hard to find, but excellent) and at a cheaper price than I paid in the U.S. Other cool things as well if you're looking for gift ideas. Overall, this place is worth the drive for me. Flowers are expensive, but at least I don't feel ripped off here. I was blown away by the variety of common house plants as well as tropical shrubs. I wish I could have stayed longer to find something to bring home, but we were rushing to an appointment. If you need fresh, beautiful flower arrangements or healthy bushy houseplants then you should stop by here.
