I had a very disappointing experience at this urgent care. From the start, I felt dismissed -- the doctor barely examined me and immediately wanted to prescribe antibiotics without running any tests. I had to insist on being tested for flu and COVID, and only after pushing did they agree. The flu test came back positive, which confirmed my concerns. If I hadn't advocated for myself, I would have been misdiagnosed and given unnecessary medication. Patients shouldn't have to fight to receive basic, appropriate care. read more

I've never posted a review before, but I have to because if I could give this urgent care ZERO points, I would. I made an appt for 11:00am -- and when I got there there were about five people waiting. They were all walk-ins. But the receptionist told me it didn't matter if I made an appointment, everyone was taken in the order they walked in. (Huh? Then what's the point of making the appointment?) So I waited 45 minutes to be seen. The first person who took my BP, temp etc (Randy) was lovely. Everyone else? Totally disinterested and uncaring. The PA who saw me was so abrupt and rushed -- she spent maybe 2 minutes with me with NO exam. Then she said they'd take tests for Covid, Flu and RSV. I asked a question or two, which she seemed really annoyed about -- and then left the room. I waited another 20 minutes and a young woman walked in and said I could leave. I said no one took the tests. She said "oh" and took the tests. Here's the other thing...every other urgent care I've been to does a rapid test for these issues -- and then follows up with the long test to confirm. This one... just the long tests. They said the results would be posted on the portal within two days. I've been checking the portal every few hours. Nothing. So I called the office just now and they said "Oh, they should have been on the portal." I asked when the results came in... and they said "yesterday." No apology. No nothing. NEVER GO TO THIS PLACE. Treated my wife for a burn on her arm. We waited about 15 minutes to see a doctor which I thought was pretty reasonable. The staff and doctor were very helpful and we were very satisfied with our visit. They called in prescriptions for us immediately. We had been here once before during covid for testing and had about the same experience. We would definitely use this location again in the future. Do not go here for a COVID test. Nothing about this urgent care practice is typical. To be tested you must have a video visit. But when you sign up on the website you're not told this. In order to move forward with the video visit, you must get a code and text it to a website. If you're not in a location with great cell service or WiFi, this doesn't work. I waited nearly an hour for any interaction with a human and finally when I explained that their procedure didn't work they agreed to give me a COVID test. I was told I would have results within the hour. It was about 3:45. I didn't get a call or a text or an email. I called the Mohegan Lake office and used the directory to reach the lab. No one answered the phone, no one returned my call even though I explained why I was calling, and I didn't get a call the next day. I called them the next day and no human answered the phone and no one called me back. I called again and let it ring about 50 times and again, no answer. I wondered if they took the rapid and PCR tests and threw them away. This all took place on my birthday, 8/2/57. On 8/5/57, Quest Diagnostics sent me an email to let me know that a test I was given and Quest analyzed was ready. My PCR test was negative. I'm guessing my rapid test was thrown away. If you need a rapid COVID test, go to Westchester Medical Center; but definitely not Pulse-MD. read more

WARNING: I was required by the state of NY to be tested for Covid in order to avoid avoid a 14 day self quarantine, and paid for the testing out of pocket. I have not recieved my results after 8 days, and if I am unable to get the results in the next few days, I will have spent $100 dollars for the "virtual visit" that was required in order for Pulse MD to schedule and perform the test, but will still have had to quarantine for the full 14 days. I would not recommend this facility for testing if you need your results back in order to avoid the state mandated 14 day quarantine after suspected exposure. I was tested for Covid at the Mohegan Lake location 8 days ago, and have not recieved my results. I have called several times and spent between 30 and 60 minutes listening to the phone ring and have not been able to reach anyone to ask about my results. I have attempted to view my results using the directions for the Quest app they gave me at the time I was tested, but am unable to verify my identity despite entering the last 4 of my SSN 3x a day for 8 days now. Is there an alternate phone number (I have called both the Mohegan Lake number and the broader Pulse MD number, again, several times a day for 40+ minutes each time, for the last 3 days since I was told results would be 3-5 days and I was tested 8 days ago) or an email address where I might have better luck? read more

Went in to take my wife for an x-ray. The tech broke my wife's earing by bumping it off the counter where she herself put it. The tech's name is Le Francia. The administration gave us the run around for over an hour when we complained about the broken earing and asked to make a compaint. At then end they said it wasn't their fault. To add insult to injury, I paid for the x-ray bill online, but the system gives you no confirmation number. Terrible customer service, little empathy, subpar medical service, and deteriorated premises. Do yourself a favor and go to any other place. read more

Very disappointing. At first they were really accommodating and had a good system in place... I went to get a rapid covid test on Sunday . I was happy to see they offered appointments (that told me there was no wait time). I get to the site and it's a drive thru. Awesome no problem! It's my turn and the nurse proceeds to tell me have to do a virtual visit.. now I have to get off the line do the visit and get to the back of the line which is getting long now.. I pull to the side and wait to be interview virtually, 20 minutes waiting for the person. Once he makes his way in the camera, he's kind of nasty getting offended with every answer I give him.. whatever it must be me. I get back on line get the test. The nurse proceeds to tell me that the pcr results will be delivered via email and they will call me with the rapid results. I had an event to go to that night so I needed tangible proof of a negative test. He tells me to come back in an hour to get a print out. I asked what time they closed he tells me 8pm. No problem. Run my errands come back to the location at 7pm. They're closed!! So I have no rapid test results. We're now on Wednesday, I have yet to receive any results! However I wake up to a text message from the DOH stating I tested positive for COVID! How does the DOH know my results before I do! I've been calling this office since Sunday And getting a live person is impossible! Voicemail is full so you can't leave a message with the lab or the nurse. A waste of time. I explained to her that I was experiencing back pain she immediately said that there is no xray tech and when I asked where I should go then she said with an attitude I dunno another urgent care or your doctor. Used Pulse-MD as I was quarantined while waiting for a negative Covid result - everything seemed to be going off without a hitch; prompt return of my call, and check-in with an MD, who ultimately determined that I needed a script for antibiotics, and would arrange for a local pharmacy to call me. ... ..................... The pharmacy never called, and I still don't have the drugs needed. And they won't return my messages to follow up with where they sent the request to. tl;dr - you might have better luck going to the pharmacy with with a note from your mom. read more

Went in 2 weeks ago with what turned out to be the flu. I walked in at 3pm on a weekday and was the only patient. So was checked in quick, didn't wait long for the doctors. Other people started to filter in after me and they seemed to be taken care of pretty quickly. All staff and doctors were friendly, attentive, felt like they enjoyed their jobs. the doctor had a trainee with her and asked permission if the trainee could participate in my exam. I like that they're teaching this way. Front desk person called in my prescription for me. Just all around great experience considering what circumstances I was in. read more

Lauren, the front desk receptionist, was so incredibly rude to me in front of my son. When I asked her name she was so proud to tell me like "yes report me.. nothing will happen" attitude. I have never felt so disrespected. I came in today because my throat has been killing me and ive been throwing up since friday and many other things. As im telling the doctor whats wrong shes sitting here laughing like oh adults dont need medicine for strep and just disregarding everything i say. When she finally says shes going to run a test for the flu and strep i told her i needed a note for work as well and she starts laughing and goes "are you just faking your symptoms, is that all you needed?" Excuse me but i would have much rather been making money all weekend instead of laying in bed sick. She then proceeded to get into a screaming match with me and then said fine ill give you the test still and jams the cotton swab down my throat. No on picks up the phone and you are unable to leave a message. I had to drive to the office to get paperwork so that my child can return to school. What a joke! I went in for a horrible sore throat, I lost my voice, my head felt like it was going to explode with a low grade fever. I also had fluid in my ears. I was told it was allergies and told to use Flonase by the nurse. Three days later I went CareMount and I have a sinus infection. Would've been nice to get antibiotics 3 days ago and already have been on the mend. Don't waste your time here. read more

Fraudulent Care ~ Avoid At All Costs, or it will Cost you and you won't receive proper care. I went in for a physical and was told 'they don't do that' after being 'seen by the doctor' despite being told they do by the secretary in the office and a pule-md associate over the phone. Once I was "seen" by the nurse practitioner I was berated & told that they don't do physicals. It also says that they do annual physicals on their website - don't trust this - false advertising. She kept the door open the entire visit, shouted at me from the hallway and disclosed my medical information to the entire clinic. She tried to prescribe me antibiotics for a question I had about ticks. She was trying to claim I was being seen for a tick related illness and that she would prescribe me medication for this but she was not willing to answer any question, personally examine me for the physical that I was there for, or run any tests. I was made to wait for 45 minutes after booking an appointment and was seen by this practitioner for a total of 3 minutes. I received a bill for over $200 for this visit. It would be in your best interest to avoid this 'treatment' at all costs. read more

I came here because it is close to my house. No wait both times, so that's a huge plus! First time my son had pus coming out of his tonsil. You could literally see it just by looking into his mouth. The nurse practitioner there said his mouth looked fine. My husband had to tell her to look again. Second time my son was screaming in pain about his toe that he banged up. Their XRAY tech said his toe was fine, just bruised. We ended up bring him to the ED becayse days later he's still screaming. He had a fracture and needed an orthopaedic surgeon. Are you kidding me? You can make that kind of mistake and still stay open? Isn't that negligence? read more

When they called to follow up my sister told them that my niece did actually end up having strep and had to go to ANOTHER doctor to confirm. Again, this happened twice. I went there tonight because my step son needs to have a physical to obtain his working papers. The job is pending the physical because without it he can't get the working papers. He recently moved from out of state and we are in search of a good pediatrician for him. I called this facility and was told I needed $45 and my step son and no appointment necessary. My son was hired (pending the paperwork) and his employer was willing to give him an additional day to get her the paperwork (that being tomorrow). Well the doctor or nurse, not sure who she was, who was there this evening said from around the corner not evening coming to the window mind you, I dont do physicals on minors he needs to go to his pediatrician. #1 I called and the staff knew we were coming in and the details of the visit #2 it says ON THE WEBSITE that school physicals are done at this facility. So thank you for breaking my son's heart! Needless to say he missed the job opportunity. read more

Was very impressed with Pulse-MD Urgent Care. Have been to a few walk in clinics and had to wait a long time. At pulse I filled out the paper work and was taken into the office rite away. The staff was very friendly and very thorough of checking me out. Rite down to the EKG and getting my prescriptions into the pharmacy. They showed true concern for me and As for Dr. Sam he had taken plenty of time to talk to me and was not rushed out of there. It was quicker and also better then waiting in a ER. I have been back there again I'm sorry Dr. Sam was not there but still had the best care there nothing has changed. Very disappointed with Pulse MD. I made an appointment online for Saturday for a COVID PCR test and received confirmation via text. I needed the results by Tuesday. First off, when I arrived and called the number on the door, I got no answer and no voice mail. Then I called the general Pulse MD number. A representative told me I needed to do a video interview first--except that nothing in the online instructions, nor the information I received via text, mentioned that. The rep insisted and was able to make me one in about 10 minutes. So 10 minutes later, I called into the interview and waited and waited and waited. I gave up and started calling around to other testing sites. Then I got a call back from the Mohegan Lake center by a nurse who said I should come to the back door and would swab me. So I did that and thought I was golden. The testing turnaround was supposed to be 24-48 hours. On Monday, I logged into the lab website to check my results. Nothing. I call Pulse MD and do the telephone tree for lab results. I end up in voice mail-- except the voice mailbox is full so I can't leave a message. So throughout the afternoon and this morning, I keep checking the website and calling every the Pulse MD number I can find. No one picks up and there's still no room in voice mail. The host of my Tuesday event arranges for a quick turnaround PCR test for me, though I have to show up more than 90 minutes early. I just checked the website again, 72 hours later, and there are still no results posted. I could understand such poor service at the beginning of the pandemic, but by now, 21 months later, it is inexcusable. It's even more frustrating because I cannot find a real person to figure out what went wrong. read more

I went there for a facial injury and while the nurse and radiology tech were both amazing. The Nurse Practitioner that I went with was terrible. She broke HIPPA laws by discussing my case and treatment with my brother without discussing it with me first and she refused to listen to me about the pain I was in. She kept downplaying everything and tried to send me on my way without so much as an x-ray. After I insisted and the radiologist called me back with the report I ended up having a serious injury so not only was her behavior unprofessional but she ended up being wrong. read more

Unbelievably horrible attitude and judgmental people at the desk. Just went there with a friend to print out his previous visits of his history there and they laughed like 5 year olds about his diagnosis because it included the word "anus" until we left without holding back. We continued to hear laughter as we were walking to the car! I didn't know hemorrhoids are so funny. Will not be coming back here ever again. I do not recommend this urgent care My boyfriend went in because he cut his thumb very badly, he went in by himself it took him 20 mins just to get in, even though he was the only patient inside. When he finally got checked in a nurse harassed him about how he would pay for the treatment when he had already paid the initial walk in fee. He told the nurse that his finger was going to bleed a lot and she said it was fine but once he took off his bandaid it started bleeding, the nurse was scared out of her mind. When the nurse was putting in the Novocain she put it in wrong and he felt the stitches in half of his thumb. 1 week later one stitch fell out.
