It took me 15 minutes to drive there, could wait in my car, then came in 10 mins before my appointment. The man at the front desk helped me sign in, and took me to a room. The medical assistant took my blood pressure and asked me a few questions, so when the doc came in a few minutes later, he could get right to assessing what was wrong. I strongly recommend checking in on your phone and reserving a spot. Much better than waiting room limbo.

This saga has been going on for over a year. I went to AFC Yorktown for a strep test, I had been…read moreexposed and was having symptoms. Test was easy and quick enough. That was it medically. The main doctor asks what I do and finds out I work in a neighboring town. He then starts chatting up their new location and says I should let my coworkers know about it so they can go there. A few weeks later I get a denial from my insurance company because AFC billed an "extended visit" and now I'm on the hook for over 100 bucks! The only thing that extended anything was the sales pitch for the new place. I fight back and forth with them, requesting proof of what was done to "extend" the visit. Nothing. Only more bills. Finally I get a woman from their billing department threatening to send me to collection. I tell her to go ahead and I will file a complaint with my insurance company for fraudulent billing and the attorney general. I haven't heard from them since. I hate to be a Karen but this was total BS.

They claimed my appointment was supposed to be at 12:30 so I was 15 minutes late and they couldn't see me. When I showed them the text message that they had sent me confirming my appointment at 12:40, they said Optum had switched scheduling platforms so the appointment time had been changed to an earlier time. When I mentioned that it would have been nice if they had informed patients about the time change, I was told that the system was all automated and they were unable to send out schedule change messages! BUT WAIT, it gets worse: They rescheduled me for 6 months later. When I got home, I realized that the new date was Labor Day. After slogging through their automated phone system for 15 minutes, when I finally got to speak to a human and asked them if they actually were open on Labor Day, the person first told me that there were a lot of appointments scheduled for that day so they probably were open. After a little more investigating, I was told that Labor Day is in fact a "no provider" day, so I rescheduled my appointment again. Chances are if I hadn't noticed the Labor Day appointment, they'd have cancelled the week before and I would have to wait another 6 months.

They tried to turn me away 2 hours before closing saying they don't take walk ins. Their website and their automated call system say they take walk ins up to 15 mins before closing. Don't let them lie to you. They turned away multiple people while I was sitting in the waiting room, including someone asking for a Covid test. Just unconscionable. 2. They had my negative lab results for 4 days and didn't call me so I continued taking an antibiotic for no reason and having stomach side effects for no reason because of their negligence. 3. The dr repeatedly misstated my symptoms to me despite me continuing to correct him. 4. SO MANY 5 star reviews from people with only one review is such a red flag. Can't believe places get away with this nonsense.
