One of the most exciting world cuisines, to me, is the Indian cuisine and regrettably the…read moreconcentration of such kitchens is very limited in the southern part of Sweden. New Delhi Tandoor might seem as a valid choice and a strong contender but sadly all that merit and reputation is a thing of the past. Centrally located, in a calmer part of the Lund city down town, this nicely as well as authentically decorated Indian restaurant feels warm and welcoming. The nice, cheerful and accommodating staff is another check in the YES box. Regretfully this is where the checking for yes boxes ends. What are the big NOs you might wonder and here is the short list; at New Delhi Prices are always increasing when the quality or for that matter the restaurant VAT is decreasing. The buffet, whether served at lunch or dinner, is limited and boring. The buffet rarely varies and often the dishes with meat are overcooked or dry. Spicy lamb kofta is nicely seasoned but species won't save it from being dry, the chicken dishes are again well balanced but often overcooked. In general the sauces provided lack real depth and are somewhat runny. Going to the a la cart menu pricing, once again, seem odd. Most mains regardless of what type of meat used cost the same. This could perhaps mean many things but most defiantly, and without speculating, it means portions are uneven. If you order chicken dishes the portion size are normal whereas lamb dishes are smaller. Prawns are the worst to order as you might be able to count their number only on one hand. The vegetarian dishes are the stars of the game in this place but being just slightly cheaper than starters containing protein I would have never known how good they are or ordered any if it was not for a vegan friend of mine ordering some. Also the somewhat pricey Naan is blend and not fluffy, the Papadom and the chutney are however flawless but let's be real those are not the reason why one visit an Indian restaurant. New Delhi was once a great place and might even be a good one in comparison with what is currently out there in southern part of Sweden but to me being less bad than the others carry not much weight, especially if you are on a steady decline path.

They use coconut milk and it makes it taste delicious!! It comes with a drink, not beer though :/ but also comes with coffee, and sorbet for dessert. They even gave us naan bread in between our meal, which is nice. I really recommend this place, although it is 179:- per person.

As I recently discovered, this Indian place in Malmö does not kid around when it writes "stark"…read more(strong/spicy) on the menu. Oh well, fortunately I do have the superpower when it comes to tolerating chilli, having been raised in Indonesia and grew up eating sambal (chilli sauce condiment from my country), so my very spicy Bombay aloo didn't really burn a hole in my throat. But holy crap that was spicy! I was dragged here by a Malmö dweller who frequently haunts this place when I admitted that I fancied Indian food for dinner. The decor is kitschy, as expected from this kind of place, but they do have good food compared to many Indian restaurants that I have been visited here in the far north. They have also a lot of different varieties compared to the usual biryani, masala etc and plenty of vegetarian options that might be interesting to try. Then again, I am not Indian, so I couldn't give out certification of authenticity when it comes to the food they're serving, but I would say they serve good food, plain and simple. Service was friendly and efficient, something that was probably a rarity in Copenhagen but quite the norm on the other side of the pond here in Sweden and I can't really say anything much than giving this place a four-star review. Yay for real spicy food!

I was in Malmö for a weekend with a friend and we felt like Indian. We were already in Old Town so…read morewe took a look at the Indian restaurants over there, but checked out prices and reviews on Yelp and decided to try Tasty Spot. We ended up making the whole 20 minute trek away from the central area to Tasty Spot - and boy, was it ever worth it! I definitely understand all the five-star reviews - it's not a fluke! It's a tiny little hole-in-the-wall of a place - you'd probably miss it if you're not specifically looking for it. The staff are SOO so friendly! They asked us kindly to sit and wait and said it might take a minute since they make everything fresh. They said we could pay afterwards so that we could order any additional items we wanted later. The menu is fantastic, and much more extensive than a lot of the Indian restaurants in Stockholm. The majority of Indian restaurants in Stockholm are owned by Bangladeshis and most of them have a sort of classic copy-and-paste menu, but here I saw dishes I had never heard of. I ordered biryani (I think it was called...?) and I don't honestly remember what my friend had, but we both were impressed. The food was absolutely delectable, and we got very large portions. The chicken biryani was out of this world, the yogurt sauce was a perfect complement to the fresh cardamom in the dish. We sat and chatted for probably almost two hours, and eventually the owner sheepishly asked us if we could pay because he had to close the cash register. He was so kind and cute and said he didn't want to kick us out, and he would love for us to stay, but he had to start closing the restaurant so his employees could go. He said that lots of customers come to him because they know they will always get fresh food and it's worth the wait. And I believe it! The experience seriously couldn't have been better - and the prices are amazing. So if you're in Malmö, go there, you won't regret it! Tasty Spot is the tastiest spot ever!

Sadly things must have changed recently on how they run this place…read more First of all, it felt a lot more like a pizzeria than an Indian joint. There was no real taste to what I ate beyond a little tiny bit of ginger. No spice, no nothing. Just spinach cooked beyond recognition and put with potatoes. Naan bread that wasn't warm, no butter, and not at all good. Rice that wasn't any good too. The crown on the turd was the manager or owner sitting at the table next to me and playing some video on his phone loud enough that I could hear it all. Sad. I know tons of people who'd love to have a chance at owning or running a restaurant and here's this guy serving shit boring food, watching shows on his phone, and generally not giving a shit.

I deducted 1 star as the staff was really blunt & not too helpful when it came to my food. I do love my food but like it being spicy, unfortunately they were only willing to be flexible with 1 of my dishes as they said it is not possible. Interesting enough I've tried the same at a different place & they have been willing. Now with regards to taste of good, I'll say it is not too bad & you get decent taste, although I like the taste at a different naan place as they are absolutely fabulous. I ordered a cheese naan & asked whether it wld be Paneer naan & I was told yes, but when I ate it that was not the case. Overall I wld say this is a decent take away place, but there is another place which is much better than this one.

I wanted to…read moreorder the chicken tikka masala with naan that was displayed on a sticker outside but unfortunately they do not make that (that day? anymore? did they ever make it?). Also, my friend had ordered there before and was a bit surprised that his kebab naan did not come with salad as pictured on the menu. We asked about that and apparently they do not have ANY salad in the shop! "It's just for the photo," we were told. And although there was a VISA sticker on the window, they do not take cards. Only cash and mobilepay. The food took a little over 20 minutes to come out. We took it back home and I was a bit disappointed to see the butter chicken was 6 small pieces of chicken in a neon orange sauce which had dripped all over the inside of the bag. It didn't look good but it tasted ok. The plain naan was very nice with great texture and it was very good for soaking up the surplus of sauce. After I finished the naan the creamy, heavy sauce became too much for me and I started feeling a little nauseaous. Luckily there was some cooked rice ready at home and that improved the dish. My friend let me try some aalo (potato) naan, qeema (spiced beef) naan, and cheese naan and they were all excellent; especially the aalo which was pleasantly spicy. The chutney was also good with a refreshing mint flavour. It was pretty cheap so I may come back, but next time I will just get the delicous naan with chutney and skip the chicken stuff.
