Lucky for Madera y Carbón, they have just been added to the list. We came a few weeks back after our trip to Colombia and my partner was hankering for a Bandeja Paisa. After an arduous Google search, he picked Madera y Carbón. We headed over with our stomaches grumbling (seriously, the Google search took forever) and with thoughts of warm frijoles, patacones and fried eggs in our minds. When we got to Madera y Carbón, we were sat quickly and the staff (mostly Colombian) were super nice! We started with one of their delicious fresh juices and ordered our bandejas - I asked to change a few things to make it vegetarian and they were more than accommodating - even give me extra avocado and platano frito to make up for the lack of meat. Overall, a great experience with good food and very filling! Parcero, I definitely recommend coming here to try typical Colombian food and drinks - try the jugo de lulo! Tip: Come here for lunch and try their daily menu - they are 4mil and if they are anything like the bandeja paisa I'm sure it would be delicious!

I know you can get just about any type of juice at the vega, but because 1. we never eat breakfast before heading over and 2. I can't wait the extra 4 blocks, this is one of our favorite places to come. El Rincon Colombiano makes some awesome juices with the option of having a base of water or milk as well as sugar, sweetener or without. Plus, you can mix and match any of the fruits they have on their list to arm your own delicious juice. My favorite mixes are strawberry and banana with a base in milk, maracuya and mango with a base of water as well as the lulo juice they make (it's a Colombian favorite). The juices are relatively inexpensive - around 1mil to 1.500, depending on if you choose milk or not. They also have a large selection of Colombian pastries and snacks, my favorite is the buñuelo (with their ají) as well as the arepa with queso - yum! Above all else though, is the attention. This small, whole in the wall restaurant, has the nicest staff! Usually it is one girl doing everything and an old woman doing the cooking - they are a dream team and are always super nice and funny even if they are slammed.

Definitely worth a trip here especially if you are in the neighbourhood. Los Reyes are a specialty Colombian bakery. They are famous for their cakes, made to order and can be decorated anyway you please. (Check their facebook page for pics of the cakes, the design is absolutely incredible and professional looking) They also have a huge selection of individual desserts and treats, cake slices, cookies, cupcakes, tarts, mousses etc. Everything is very affordable (500-1,000 CLP per item, some which are large enough to share). The staff is super friendly and considering this is in Recoleta, it is very very clean and modern inside, lots of seating and air conditioning, more similar to something you would find in Las Condes or Providencia.
