As gyms go, this one's great. Modern and clean, there are loads of cardio machines (all the usual suspects) as well as resistance equipment. There's a lovely, if small, swimming pool that you tend to get to yourself, as well as a steam room and sauna. Two studios offer a range of group fitness classes such as spinning or yoga. Changing rooms are large and clean. In the reception area there's a small café and a roof terrace which is lovely when the sun is shining. Beauty treatments are also offered both downstairs in the reception area and in dedicated treatment rooms. Sun beds are also available. Staff are really friendly and helpful. read more

I used this gym for almost a year and depending on what you like it might suit you or not. The target customer is definitely the 20-something student who likes to lift heavy weights. In a sentence, I would say that what displeased me was the loud noise (or music) and the space management. The fact that people were alowed to play their own music through their phones didn't do much to add to a relaxing workout after a busy day. I found myself going round in circles a lot not knowing which machine to use. It seems that the main part of the gym is concentrated in one place that has the free weights, and the rest is filler, so to speak. It's as if you were almost automatically drawn back to the free weights area. They have a number of treadmills but they have Britney Spears-type video clips on repeat that may be attractive to a 16 year old, but not so much to myself. One evening I couldn't finish my run on the treadmill because of lack of oxygen. There didn't seem to be a way to open a window either. I think you have to be on the younger side of the spectrum to enjoy this one. read more
