I feel like a better parent for sending my toddler, Lily, to this daycare because she gets…read moreexperiences I can't or won't create for her at home; she gets to flex her independence; and she hears respectful language and stories every day. Every day there is a new exploration activity -- for example, picking up pretend bug figures in the sensory table, painting, or looking through prisms outside in the playground. She gets to play with beautiful, open-ended toys with emphasis on natural elements --  whereas at her previous daycare they had mostly big-box-brand plastic toys. You can tell a lot of thought went into selecting the toys -- the soft dolls even have different skin colors represented. There are no screens except for the teachers uploading photos and videos to share with parents via the HiMama app. I call this daycare a lot of nicknames -- "Disneyland", "school" (because it's way more than just day care), and "Lily's World" because she sits at Lily-sized Montessori-style furniture (vs dangling from a kidney bean high-chair table she had at her previous daycare), practices feeding herself, and steps up to the sink to wash her hands. The way the teachers talk to her is respectful -- acknowledging her feelings and helping her work through her moments of frustration. They read her stories and talk to her sweetly. Lily runs to hug them when she arrives at daycare.   The class (the under-2 crowd) actually plays together. I know it's not developmentally expected, but the tots giggle, and share, and hug good bye.  Also, Lily eats better food at daycare than at home since the kids' food is catered by Milk Crate. Vegetarian noodle bowl, Soft pretzel with housemade ranch, Made-from-scratch blueberry muffin?! by sending Lily to this daycare I feel way, way less guilty about her eating air fryer chicken nuggets watching hours of The Wiggles at home. I also don't feel pressure to do the instagram sensory tables, art projects, and play kitchen set ups at home because she does this almost every day at school. To sum it all up, these teachers are doing an amazing job, and they create exceptional value for our daycare dollar. Each and every one of these ladies (teachers and assistants) is a treasure. My son has a gluten sensitivity, and Ms. Gloria went out of her way to bake gluten-free versions of all the baked goods they serve for snacks, and buy gluten-free treats for him to have on celebration days. I feel as though all the staff were very cautious with him and I can't express my gratitude for this enough. I delighted in hearing all about what he was learning. From the different continents, to planets in our solar system, it was all amazing. I can't believe the grasp he already has on phonetics and math. We are sad to be leaving the school, but will always look back on this experience fondly. Thank you for making my little guy's first school experience so exceptional.

Our son has been attending for over a year and we could not be happier with the staff and the owner. Every day when I pick my son up he talks about how much fun he had at "school", he loves the food, and he is always very happy when we drop him off. Most of the staff have been there since he started and having a low turnover in a daycare is a hard thing to do these days. Part of my job is interviewing and hiring educational assistants to work with special needs students in schools so you better believe that I did a very thorough job in researching a place to send my own child. I asked all the right questions and I know what to look for in people who care about early education. Aleksandra, the owner, is a constant presence and has very high standards for her staff. She is an early education professional with a teaching background and we love that she and her staff bring real learning and fun into the daily routine. The daycare and all the toys are extremely clean, the food is amazing (my son loves Serbian donut day), the daycare itself changes every month with a new theme, decorations and fun activities, Aleksandra is always taking pictures and documenting the learning and activities, and there are multiple opportunities for the parents and kids to get together and celebrate different things throughout the year. Anyone who is looking for a quality daycare for their child should seriously consider St. Albert Montessori School.
