Ms. Sankey, Miss Maggie, Ms. Duenas, Ms. MacKinnon, Ms. Budzak and Ms. Grondin were all teachers that had a huge impact on me. This is in a safe and super nice area and the school is so fun! Unfortunately half the park they raised 10 years for burnt down, but I still think it's a good park without half of it. The parents and teachers work tirelessly for a good school and park so I truly believe they will raise enough money soon to rebuild! Love this school!

The best part was the playgrounds. They were massive. One big park and one smaller one for the younger kids. They have tons of soccer fields and couple of baseball diamonds and a skating rink which is fairly new and probably among the better ones in the city. It comes equipped with benches and all. OH and a big hill for winter if you want to go sledding during recess. They also had a huge empty field but now condo's have gone up in that field but there is still more than enough empty land to play on. I don't know if they still get off early on Thursday's but if they do.. you're welcome. Is it obvious I went here?

The best part about this school is the students. Everyone knows everyone and everyone pretty much gets a long. That's how I remember it anyways. The inside is a square shape so it is pretty easy to find your way around. They also had a snack shack which had some great snacks at lunch. These were the good old days when no one had a care in the world.

Hi! I personally think MAC is hit or miss. I am going to this school right now and I have had some…read moregood and bad experiences at this school. I think it really depends on the teacher on whether you get a good education and learning experience in that class. I have a social teacher this year who is amazing and goes super in depth in topics, it has made me appreciate social studies so much. But my other teachers have been hit or miss. One teacher was extremely ego centered and I don't think we could go five minutes without them bragging about how good they were in that subject. It made it extremely difficult to learn and want to learn that subject. One thing I really appreciate about MAC is the passion teachers have. I used to go to St. Mark Junior High and it was the most awful experience, so going here made everything feel so much better and I felt like I belonged with my peers and teachers being more passionate about school. I do have some concerns about the English department, but I don't think it's affected me as much as my peers since I've always been stronger in English. I would also say that MAC is not nearly as hard as they say it is. I know there is a huge pressure coming to this school and you have to apply, but a lot of kids aren't getting 90s all the time. Half the time most people aren't even fully getting 80s. So don't feel too much pressure. Overall I would recommend this school! Some of the teachers aren't as nice, and if you are coming by yourself it can be challenging to make friends. But if you are open to putting yourself out there and not being solely focused on academics then I think you'll do good at MAC. One thing you need to know: there will be so much unnecessary pressure from your peers. Just focus on yourself and achieve to the best of your abilities! Don't try and work yourself to the bone. 9/10 that only makes the stress, no sleep, and anxiety about tests and schoolwork worse. Most importantly: just because your at MAC doesn't mean you need top marks! Just try your best! ONE THING I WOULD CHANGE PLEASE: As someone who is Scottish, I find it extremely offensive to have a PERSON as a mascot. Why not an animal like normal schools? This just seems off and everyone I know at the school has said something about how creepy and offensive it is.

I want people to listen to kids when they talk. Kids have feelings too. Some teachers are nice and some people help me, but I still don't like the school very much. I think the school should be nicer and make kids feel happy and safe. I want school to be fun and not make me feel bad. I hope the school gets better because I think it can be nicer. I don't want to go back because I did not like my time there.

The majority of them felt like my friends. I remember having heart-to-hearts with a few of them throughout my years there and it was really great. It was nice to have support. I know that they've renovated over the years, so I'm not sure if it's still there - but I hope it is - The Wall of Fame! The Wall of Fame is where all the school athletes who won races, championships, etc, had their pictures hung. I was a 3 time girls' basketball champ so I'm very proud to be on that wall (if it's still there)! I know that the quality of teachers is still very high at D.S. because I have friends that I went there with, who are now teachers there. They know how valuable our ear there so I'm sure they are working hard to give today's students the same great experiences we had. Great school!

i went to d.s mackenzie as well and had a great time there. the teachers were awsome and very…read morehelpful. if you needed help they would give you one on one time after school if needed and it was not a big deal even though it was taking up there time. all the teachers were very nice to every student and didn't play favorites to those that were smarter. i had lots of friends and the people in this school were awsome.
