Both my friend and I have been going to her duet Reformer classes for a number of months now and I can feel the difference in my core strength and balance. Even my posture has improved. I'm in my late 60s and have some physical restrictions due to arthritis, and Kim knows exactly how to work with me to adapt certain exercises and still benefit from the experience. She is kind, caring, and has an incredible depth of knowledge about Pilates and the purpose and value of each exercise. She is an amazing teacher and I look forward to my session every week. Kim is a highly qualified instructor and can work with students at any level of Pilates training, from complete newby (like I was) up to up to highly advanced Pilates students and even other teachers. I exercise about 2-3 times a week…read moreat my local gym and started Btone classes a while ago to see what it was all about- and immediately got hooked. The workout: Never the same. Always mixing it up. It's 45 minutes in length which is great for someone like me (mom on the go) but those 45 minutes you are working your entire body from head to toe. Whatever the focus is that day, you can feel the burn immediately. Even if something seems difficult you can adjust the machine for intensity levels or make modifications that the instructors will suggest pending your skill level. I will say, it is challenging, but with the right modifications, this is an excellent class for just about anyone. I personally just had a baby at the end of July and it's motivating to see myself getting stronger as time progresses as I've had to move at my own pace and really listen to my body. I love this methodology because I can literally see and feel myself getting stronger. The facility: Always clean. They quickly adjusted during the pandemic with barriers in between the machines which to be honest - stunk! BUT! It allowed us to keep working out with following the state guidelines so I was happy about that. Those are now gone- which makes it feel more welcoming if you ask me. It is important to note- at the present moment, there is not a mask mandate so it is not required to wear a mask, however many people do- but what's nice is that you can do what you are comfortable with. You are responsible for cleaning your machine at the end of each workout and if it makes you feel more comfortable you can clean it ahead of time too! There are only 12 machines so it's a small class which I happen to like. The entire facility is clean. It feels clean. It's bright, and just gets your motivated to be there. The instructors: Just like any place you go to you will find which instructors you like best! I will say, and I haven't had them all, but no matter what time of day you arrive, I've been welcomed with a smile. They are encouraging, motivating, and just a pleasure to spend your time sweating with. Again, I don't know them all but my go-to's are Kalie- she gets me every time with all those high plank core workouts, Lucille- who probably has the best leg-day I've ever had, and Becky who I love waking up with in the mornings at 6am. There are plenty more you just have to find who you love and what time of day works for you. The schedule: 7 days a week. Not open all day. But they have early morning and evening classes M-F. And lots to choose from on the weekends. Cost- I would say check out their webpage it's all on there. It's not the cheapest it's not the most expensive. What I will say, is there is a great intro package for first time clients that includes 3 classes and lots of packages to chose from after that. What I love is all throughout the year they run promotions to save money on packages - so I feel it is well worth it. All in all- if you are looking for something new, or just mixing up your regular routine- give this place a shot! Great people, great playlists, and your body will feel all the hard work you put in for those 45 minutes for days afterwards!

I drive to Pembroke from Plymouth {not…read moreTHAT long of a drive, but still} three or four times a week to take barre class, and it is so worth it. If you can find a workout that you actually look forward to, it's best to hang on to it! The main offering is the Secret Physique Barre class and that's what I usually take. What is barre? In a nutshell, a barre workout fuses together ballet-based stretching and terminology {plie, releve, etc} with yoga, Pilates, and light weights for the upper body. Each exercise is done with high reps until you completely fatigue the muscle; then you immediately stretch and move on. This light-weights-high-reps-and-streeetcchh combo is what give you those long, lean dancer's muscles. The classes follow the same general format each time, although the exercises themselves switch up, so it's easy to get into the groove of things and see your progress over time. You see results fairly quickly with regular barre classes ~ a firmer, stronger body in general. Secret Physique also offers Bardio {which I haven't taken} and Barre Works {which I have once, unintentionally} classes for more intense classes with cardio elements, as well as Pound, a complete different workout that uses drumsticks, rock music, and a whole lotta squats. Of course in a workout class situation, you are always going to find instructors you prefer over others, and I REALLY enjoy Kerry, Jenna and Jenny's classes; however every barre class follows the same format {upper body, stretch, thighs, stretch, glutes, stretch, abs, thigh/glute combo, and cool-down} and all the girls I've taken classes from are friendly and pleasant.

The studio is comfortable and clean and the instructors I've had are great. The location is a little tough to find and the classes have difficult times for me to accommodate... I'd be in there every day if the studio was closer to home in Braintree or if there was a 6 AM class. This is the perfect supplement to my cardio workouts and a great way to tone up and get stronger. I highly recommend checking it out and register for your first class through MindBody online... I got my second class for free!

The Owner's Kayla and Gigi are warm, friendly and make you feel comfortable from the start. The classes are challenging and do what they say they will. In just a few classes I felt increased energy, strength, endurance and a toned strong body (also received compliments )The instructors are the best and work to help you get in proper form and provide modifications as needed. No matter what your age ( I am one of the older gals) You can do it! and modifications help. Every body welcome! The studio is modern, clean and inviting with a beautiful relaxation stretch area and retail area. The new yoga area is beautiful and relaxing. I also enjoy the Saturday Vinyasa classes taught by Jessica it helps me keep up with my yoga and provides that extra stretch. The Buti yoga and HIIT Classes are enjoyable and challenging and provides more of a cardio workout. I highly recommend The Barre, you'll get hooked!
