My daughter has been taking camps and lessons at Pure Performance for over a year with fantastic results. We have tried many different facilities and coaches over the years for my older son and for her and I am truly impressed by the level of attention my daughter is given during well thought and organized camps. Her private instruction is not "cookie cutter" but tailored to meet her needs and enhance her strengths as well as develop new approaches, drills and thought process to her weaknesses. The facilities are spacious with multiple areas for instruction and drill. Even enough room to run infield drills in bad weather with a team! There are multiple instructors for various skills for pitching, hitting, catching and fielding. Instruction does not only focus on the physical aspects of the game (softball in this case) but also mental and preparation. Discussion about nutrition, workouts beyond coaching, and habits also is included as part of helping my athlete be ready to compete. Pure Performance meets the athlete where they are and prescribes a program to help them achieve their goals. My 11 yr old daughter has been taking lessons and attending camps at Pure Performance for 18 months. Given the space, instructors, coaches, location; the pricing is great. She was struggling with hitting and I knew enough that as a travel player, she passed my ability to help her. She was nervous going in for her first lesson with Coach Ryan - more so when he said I had to stay in the waiting room. After the lesson, Coach Ryan gave me a tour of the facility and sent us home with several drills. On the ride home, I asked my daughter what she thought - she was sold and couldn't wait to go back. She noticed a difference between the start and finish of her lesson based on Coach Ryan's corrections. And although Coach Ryan intimidates her - she never wants to disappoint him - she's excited for every lesson, with no sign of stopping. Last Fall, she moved up to 12U travel as a 10 yr old. The change in ball size was a struggle batting and as a catcher. So, we upped our visits with Coach Ryan but she also started lessons with Coach Morgan. An amazing catching coach, that has helped her with the transition and to excel behind the plate. My daughter lights up whenever she sees Coach Morgan; and although she is drenched in sweat after every lesson, she never wants them to end. In addition to the private lessons, Pure Performance's clinics and camps are great for players of any skill or age. Last summer, I sent both my daughters (the younger plays rec ball) to the summer camp. They do some things as a group but others are based on skill/team age. They had a great time and were never short of stories about the drills, conditioning, games, competitions of the day. They were exhausted but excited for the next day. They enjoyed it so much that they asked to attend again this summer and are bringing friends. We are always on the lookout for new camps and clinics. STAY AWAY!!!! This place stole out money. Originally we signed up my son for Baseball training camp last year. We had to cancel prior to the beginning of the session. We were told that we could reschedule for a future baseball training camp (which we did). As we got closer to the baseball camp we were informed that the baseball camp was canceled due to lack of interest. Again we were told that our credit was still there for my son to use for a future camp or training. We looked at what they had to offer and my son was not interested. This is where the problems began. We started calling the management for pure performance for a refund. We kept getting the run around leaving messages and not receiving call backs. Months go by and we continued to make constant effort to contact someone that can help us get our money back. Just recently we were told that they issued a refund check but we never received such a check. Another day they tell us that we have a credit on the account. We are tired of getting no answers we work hard for our money and all we want is our money back we never received any services from pure performance . I was trying to hold off from writing this review but ultimately they informed us that they will not be refunding us our money. Please do not waste your time coming to this facility and this program. These folks will take your money and once they have it or turn a blind eye. All we ask, is that we get refunded our money back. read more

I've been using this facility for years and it's great! I go at least once a week to work on my pitching and batting, which has improved so much! The coaches are a joy to work with and really pay attention to all of the fundamentals that go into your game. Also, it is a HUGE facilitiy and great for team practices. It offers a nice sitting area for parents waiting on players and extra batting cages/pitching lanes in case you want to reserve one to work on things yourself. I highly recommend coming to this facility if you are interested in playing baseball or softball!!! read more

Absolutely terrible "advanced softball camp." Completely disorganized and unprofessional. To start, the location for the camp that they sent us in the registration email was wrong. They told us Arlington high school but then when we got there, they said it was Quincy park. After inquiring, they explained that AHS used to use quincy park as their field (but how would any of us have known that?). When I showed him the email which said to go to Arlington high school, he said, "oh, I'll have to tell my person who sends out emails about that." Second, they told us to show up early on the first day to sign in. After many of us had been standing around the field for a while, with no sign of anyone from pure performance, I called the person listed on the email as the director. It turned out he was standing on the other side of the field but had not come over to address any of us parents or campers. He was apparently trying to change fields because quincy park was unplayable. This caused quite a long delay. Camp was supposed to start at 9:00, and as of 9:15 there was still no start of camp, with several parents frequently checking watches because they had to leave for work. Several of us wondered why this director had not gotten over there earlier in the morning to check fields. My daughter is on a travel softball team and on a tournament day, the directors go out very early in the morning - because they have a lot of people who have paid them money to play, and it's their job to check on the conditions early. But in the case of this camp, it appeared that the director (Ryan) had never been to the facility before around 9:00 that morning. When one parent asked him about parking, he kind of joked and said, he should probably know the answer to that... Also, after he told us he was checking to see what field we could play on, there was an additional delay while we all stood around waiting for one of the counsellors to come from another field. Finally, around 9:24, the group of girls got to go out on the field to start warming up. One other parent and I stayed to watch because things had seemed so completely disorganized. At this point, I had asked the director several times for clarification about what was going on - and after two separate interactions with him, there had been not event the slightest hint that he was apologetic for keeping us all waiting or for the inaccurate (or non-existent) communication. Then, after the girls went on to the field, I noticed there was a group of about 24 girls, with one young lady who looked to be an older teenager, and a second young man who looked to be about 10 years old... These were the two "staff members" working with the group of 24 girls. The kid helping looked younger than my daughter. And in their description of the camp, it said the ratio of staff to girls would be 9:1. At that point, the director had left the field, so I called to express frustration with the way things had been handled; and at this point, I was getting upset. But instead of apologizing, he kept the same attitude as earlier and acted like we should just be patient with him as they settled the failed location. He also hung up on me. Had the attitude been communicative and apologetic from the start, it would have been fine; however, my experience - and the opinion of the other parent listening and observing - was that this guy was completely unprofessional and unapologetic. AND it turned out he was the owner. He offered to refund my money, and I acceoted and took my daughter home. I should mentions to anyone considering a camp by pure performance: the counselors did not appear to be ANY of the experienced instructors they list on their web site. (They have pictures next to the biographies of the instructors on their web page). Instead, the camp staff seemed to be either teen-aged or that one young boy. I would just ask questions before you sign up. And be aware they are disorganized, unprofessional, and apparently they don't go to their camp locations ahead of time - or very early on the morning of camp - to check out the facilities. read more
