My cat Finley was having some very concerning symptoms that warranted an emergency vet visit, and…read morehonestly based on the reviews for VCA valley I was hesitant.... but he was in no shape to wait for any kind of drive to a further veterinarian so VCA valley it was. Despite my apprehensions we had such a lovely experience from start to finish. One of the main critiques of VCA is the price, and yes it was expensive, but honestly for the convenience it really wasn't bad. $350 deposit to be seen immediately, but after that all of the medical personnel were very friendly and accommodating to our budget, they didn't attempt to push tests and were very apparent about costs. They even gave us tips to save money (ie buying Pepcid from the pharmacy instead of buying directly from them) Overall a positive experience, and my baby boy is home happy which is all that matters

I had to bring my cat Zack in on a Saturday night before Easter after finding him covered in blood…read moreand urine. Every other clinic was closed, and VCA Valley Oak told me to come in right away. That decision saved his life. Zack has some unique medical challenges, and I knew going in this might not be straightforward. Dr. Wilson took the time to fully assess him, consulted with UC Davis, and came back with a clear, workable plan while still giving me options. I never felt rushed or pushed in one direction. The entire team was incredible. They encouraged me to visit, kept me updated morning and night, and I always knew how Zack was doing. I could tell he was being cared for not just medically, but emotionally. He's a very social cat, and it meant a lot to know he wasn't alone back there. What stood out most to me was how much everyone genuinely cared about him. One of the staff at the front desk told me she wished she could just go back and cuddle him all day, and when I spoke with one of the doctors later, she mentioned that people had been asking about him and wanted to know how he was doing. That meant more to me than I can say. Emergency vet care is expensive and stressful, and I know that's where a lot of negative reviews come from. But in my experience, this team was compassionate, skilled, and deeply invested in my cat's outcome. Zack is home now, recovering and very much himself again. I'm incredibly grateful to Dr. Wilson and the entire team.

Worst experience I have ever had..what kind of vet doesn't even try to touch a dog and has owner test his ears! like if your that scared,my dog,He can sense it!! Now today Sunday,I wake up on 5/24/26 and vetco prescribed( 1)$85 chewable called Bravecto..? Wtf They never bothered to return my calls!! My dogs still suffering!!!!!! Everyone telling me to taper off the Steroid now since they didn't give me the correct amount of pills.Period!! and they haven't returned my calls! This is Incompetence at its finest! There are no excuses or no exceptions. For why they are doing this.. The vet should have asked her assistant to leave the room since her assistant was so terrified of my dog.Even though he was on three hundred milligrams of Trazodone and had a muzzle on , he could clearly sense her fear so why dhe stayed in the tiny room with Me,my adult son who was holding the dog and the VET(it's an extremely small room for 4 people and a dog thst they were terrified of !!then the vet herself wouldn't even look at my dog or touch him, this is insanity!.what kind of vet place is this?? SO HERE IS AN UPDATE THE TECH WHO WAS TERRIFIED OF MY DOG CALLED TO TELL ME IT WAS A TYPO ERROR ON HER PART..MIND YOU I HAD TO BOOK APPOINTMENT ON LINE TO GET SOMEONE TO CALL ME TODAY!!! WHAT A JOKE BUT ANYWAY SHE CALLED AND YEAH SAID OOPS ITS SUPPOSE YO BE 1 PILL A DAY!! SO 40 MIL STERIOD FOR MY 70LB DOG COULD HAVE KILLED HIM!!!!!! HE HAS (4) 20 MIL STERIODS IN 48 HOURS AND WAS PANTING SO HARD I THOUGHT SOMETHING SERIOUS WAS HAPPENING AND HE WAS DYING ...NOW I REALIZE HE WAS PROBABLY ACTUALLY GONNA DIE FROM HER MISTAKE HUGE MISTAKE HUGE!!!! Fire this can't happen again to anyone.......

If your pet is not established they cannot 'treat' your animal in the same appointment- ?? I was…read moretold I had to have two different appointments two different days for a foxtail to be removed from my dogs ear. They knew the issue when I booked the appointment 3 days prior (they are closed Friday Sundays). I repeated my question.... I really have to bring my dog, extra stress on him "two different days"? In my experience, this is about money- to charge the patient twice. Why not just charge extra for the 'urgency same appointment'? If you care about animals why have me bring him in 100+ temps, walk on that hot asphalt to the doors from the parking lot- TWO TIMES TWO DAYS? Red flag- Also, just fyi.... if your Vet doesn't let you stay in the room while their being treated (non-surgeries) RUN! A good vet will give you the option.
