Like, every business they are not perfect, however I have found they stand by their work and will readily and with little fuss address their customer concerns. I've used their services for lighting and air conditioning work but also more complex tasks like putting my air con on off peak tariffs to lower my bills and to hook up a stand by generator to my house to help me get through the Queensland Storm season.

I think where you live probably plays a role in which side you take, and because I happen to live near a Brett's not a Bunnings even I (who can barely work a screwdriver and usually only go into hardware stores to sniff the nice paint and timber smell) have taken sides. I like Brett's because it's huge, and has different departments (key cutting, paint, fixtures, lighting). It also feels less like a big, commercial chain than Bunnings does, probably because it is less of a big, commercial chain. When you walk in you immediately notice how much less branding and advertising they have around than Bunnings does, and the vibe is more like a big workshop full of tradies than a store. I can't comment with much expertise on their range, but I can tell that they have LOTS of stuff. It's a massive store. My Dad always seems to find what he needs there. I'm usually over by the paint swatches contemplating a bright purple feature wall or something, but I can guarantee you this: it sure does smell nice in there!
