The absolute WORST experience at Purple Cow!!! On August 8, 2026, stopped on our way home at the Purple Cow which I have done quite often. It took quite a while to place an order for a peach milkshake and a large milkshake cup full of peach soft serve ice cream with a lid to go. The large milkshake cup of peach ice cream was not soft it was a small hard pillar in the center of the cup not touching the sides, not even close to the sides. I brought this to their attention and they refused to do anything about and would not give a refund. They were rude and disrespectful. Upon arriving at my shut-in friend's place, we the ice cream still hard and icy. And also found it TASTLESS!!! It was absolutely HORRIBLE!!!! Never again will we ever purchase anything from the Purple Cow!!!! It was the absolute worst!!!! Never to return again. So BEWARE!!!! read more

For an ice cream place it's the best but ONLY due to the closing of the Lewisburg freeze before mays took it over. The ice cream is just ok topping are small and a place to get ice cream but not a place if you are looking for something to really enjoy and savor. Service is fast at the window. Now I have had their honey dipped fried chicken and that my friends is the real winner. I haven't tried their food but they have a huge variety of subs, chicken, and everything in between. We go for the soft serve ice cream. I was driving out to mifilinburg and I found this place. I ordered a milkshake, and I was surprised that it only took 2 minutes to get my order! Also, the milkshakes are to die for. They are easily one of the best places to get milkshakes! Later, I went back to purple cow and got some ice cream. It's just as good as the milkshakes! We only had the soft serve, I had a small cup with sprinkles, the permanent boyfriend had a soft serve cone for a total of just over $4.00 - totally reasonable and good portion size in my opinion. Rather than apologizing, the general manager called me a liar and told me she hopes that I don't go back. I had been a loyal customer of 15 years but after first the treatment I received over correcting an order, followed by being berated general manager, Tonya Walter, on social media, I certainly will not be going back. Spent some years in Central PA and this is one of my favorite ice cream and lunch places. Great Ice cream and one of few that have the teabury flavor. The other known treat is the what is called the BBQ sandwich made with ground beef for Central PA, other places call it sloppy joes.
