I was actually pleasantly surprised by the ice cream. I wasn't sure what to expect when getting the ice cream for one thing they don't allow you to taste the different flavors so for that, I was very skeptical but when I actually got the ice cream, I thought it tasted very good. It tasted very fresh very creamy. Specifically the mint one was into minty. It was just the right amount of mint and the chocolate one wasn't too sweet. The cherries actually provided a nice darkness that balanced out the chocolate. The chocolate itself had a decent amount of sweetness, but it wasn't overpowering so I felt like that was a nice balance. It definitely felt like a homemade fresh sort of ice cream and the cool part is at this place that the flavors end up changing I think every week so they have new flavors that they come out with so it's always a new experience. The only reason why he gave it four choices instead of five stars again because they don't provide that tasting service so that's just one thing that I thought that was kind of a miss. read more

When I get a craving for ice cream in Bloomsburg, Brennan's is one of the better options. Parking can be a concern due to the meter/permit situation in Bloomsburg, which at times is a mess. Interior is not huge but has a decent amount of seating. They have a large selection of various ice cream flavors. My usual is the Black Cherry, but recently I've enjoyed the Arkansas Red Razorback (Brownies & Cherries). Scoops are generous. Flavor wise, the ice cream is good, but the flavors are not strong in terms of depth for handmade ice cream. I've found the service here to be good and they do accept credit cards. Final thing to note, Brennan's does have an off season and closes from mid-November through early February. Overall, it's worth stopping in for some ice cream. read more

We came to Brennan's after dinner, we had hiked 10miles earlier in the day so ice cream was calling our name. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by the young staff and any samples that we requested were given right away. I tried a few samples, but ultimately chose a cyclone with vanilla soft serve and Reese pieces. It was good, a lot of the candy pieces were at the bottom. This is a cool ice cream spot in downtown Bloomsburg, with over 20 flavors of homemade hard ice cream. They also have soft serve ice cream and Italian ice. I came here with two people on a Sunday afternoon while driving through the town. The place is well-kept and very clean. The seating area is very spacious, with over 10 tables and 30 seats. The two employees behind the counter were very nice and accommodating. They let me taste a few flavors before I ordered. I got a waffle bowl sundae with the Cherry Bing and Cappuccino Chocolate Chip ice cream with peanuts, Reese's Pieces, whipped cream and a cherry. The ice cream flavors were amazing. The black cherries in the Cherry Bing were large and flavorful. The cappuccino ice cream was so delicious. The ice cream was thick and creamy. The waffle bowl was crunchy and very delicious. I stopped in to get some ice cream while in town for the week. The ice cream was delicious and the staff was so helpful and friendly! They have so many flavors I was struggling to pick. Each day or week they will have different flavors be used it is homemade in shop. I think this is awesome, but as a newbie had no idea what to expect when I walked in. I ended up tasting a sample of the Black Raspberry and Tiramisu, both very good, and then bought a scope of Butter Crunch (butterfinger/heath) and Raspberry Peanut Butter. Both were very good! They also have frozen yogurt, Italian ice, milkshakes/mand ice cream cakes in store! The lady working even gave me recommendations for restaurants in the area! Will return and highly recommend this cute ice cream shop! Update: I have also tried Creme Brûlée, Carmel Apple Crunch, Pumpkin Toffee, and Cinnamon Stick. All amazing and delicious! Deb and her crew do a fabulous job at creating an inviting atmosphere in a small town ice cream parlor. Located on a side street in downtown Bloomsburg, there is ample parking in the area with plenty of usually empty parking meters. Just don't forget to pay it so your $3 ice cream doesn't become $30. The amazing array of flavor combos that they come up with will always keep you on your toes. For example, during our last visit, we tried out a raspberry/peanut butter cup mixture. Who thinks of this? The saltiness of the cups and the added sweet/tartness of the fruit made this a decadent flavor I would want to try again and again. We love Brennan's so much that we forewent a traditional wedding cake and hired them to dish out ice cream. People still talk about this year's later, how it was one of the best dessert treats they've ever had at a wedding. She renamed them in a cute way like "wedding cake" when it is usually birthday cake flavor. Expect a line at times but very reasonable prices. They are roughly 5-6 tables inside but we usually got a cone or pint to go. I love local ice cream places and Brennan's will rarely disappoint. read more

i was eating dinner next door (at The Blind Pig, which is wonderful) and decided to try dessert here. I had read the other bad Yelp reviews about the bizarre ways this place is run and figured, "There's no way anything negative will happen with me -- it's a pleasant summer evening, I know what I want, and this is a quick, easy ice cream order." What could possibly go wrong? Ordered a simple 2-scoop cup (1 scoop Flavor A and 1 scoop Flavor B). Scooper tells me one of my flavors (Flavor A) is sold out. Fine, no problem, I'll just take a 1-scoop cup of Flavor B. So she scoops 1 scoop of Flavor B into the cup. Just as she's handing the cup to me, another employee turns to her and says, "We actually do have more of Flavor A -- we're not sold out -- it's right there (and points somewhere)." So my scooper says to me, "Do you still want a scoop of Flavor A?" Of course, I say, "Yes please." Then -- unbelievably -- she says to me, "Okay, but now we'll have to charge you for 2 separate smalls (2 separate 1-scoop orders), rather than the one 2-scoop cup (THAT I ASKED FOR IN THE FIRST PLACE!!), because I already handed you the 1-scoop cup and we can't take it back." Huh?? Wait -- exactly what did I do wrong here? So you (scooper) made a (totally understandable) mistake and told me you were out of a flavor that you really weren't out of ... and now you're asking ME to pay extra because of YOUR mistake? And why would you need to take anything back? Why can't you just put 1 scoop of Flavor A into another empty cup, hand it to me, and charge me for the 2-scoop cup that I ordered in the first place? Crazy. Not that it matters, but we were nowhere near the cash register when this happened. It's not like anyone had rung me up yet. The scooper had literally just handed me the ice cream at the far end of the counter, nowhere near the register. So I politely declined the second scoop, walked down the counter to the cash register, paid for the 1 scoop, left $0 tip, turned to my friends, and said, "The Yelp reviews were right!" My second time coming for icee cream. Nice place. They have seating . Gets quite noisy on weekends. A very big selection of ice cream flavors. From normal like vanilla, strawberry and chocolate to the unique and obscure like kitchen sink (candy filled Vanilla) and supreme butter cream (a sweet and salty flavor). I would like to give this place 4 stars however I cannot. The ice cream is undeniably delicious. Homemade, original, rich and luscious with a wide variety of flavors and choices. The business is local and I like supporting local businesses. So here's the problem. The owner has demonstrated a distinct unfriendliness to customers particularly young people and to her employees. I have on one too many occasions witnessed her being unforgivably rude to customers, asking them to vacate a table when no one was waiting, yelling at a young person for looking in a glass fridge. The owner scooped me peanut butter ice cream and then proceeded to use the same spoon, without cleaning it off, to scoop a non-nut related ice-cream for someone with a nut allergy. It does not appear that the owner cares for her customers or employees. Incredible popcorn is a much better store that provides good and quality customer service. This place is a hidden gem in Bloomsburg. It's a block off Main Street, so you have to know where to look. But the ice cream is great. When the cow is out, the place is open. They close for a few months in the winter, but reopen in February. Worth the drive. read more

I was visiting my hometown and my sweet gem of a mother wanted a milkshake, so we stopped in. It wasn't busy. The female owner and a young girl were working. There was an elderly couple in front of us in line that weren't sure what they wanted yet and were looking at the selections, and a family already seated and eating. The young girl said hello, took our order, then told us we can walk over to the cash register to pay. My mom got out her wallet and the owner started FREAKING OUT. "I'm already helping someone so you need to back up and wait your turn lady!!" My mom apologized, and told her to take her time - we were in no rush and she was just getting her wallet out as she was told to come pay and there was no one at the register. The woman started yelling at her that we were being rude, impatient, and that we can't cut in line like that. Then she turned to the elderly couple and started yelling at them to make up their mind. Knowing that was the owner and that we hadn't paid or received or order yet, and seeing how sad my mom looked, I suggested that we just leave and go somewhere else. The owner started screaming at the top of her lungs that we were thieves, that we had to come pay as they were already making the milkshakes, that we were disgusting, and that we were banned for life. We had been long time patrons of this overpriced ice cream shop until recently. My children and I rode our bikes there (ages 9 and 3) -owner flipped because the youngest and I didn't have masks on. I pulled my shirt over my face to simply order and get out and guess what?! not. good. enough. Owner insisted we buy one of her masks for the 90 seconds we were in there (no indoor seating is available). I've never been a fan of your overpriced ice cream and I can 100% say we won't be back. I never went to this place when I attended and later graduated from Bloomsburg University. I wish I knew about it sooner as I return to Bloomsburg area to revisit friends and the Bloomsburg Fair/Covered Bridges at Knobels. The place operates very smoothly from the Ice Cream Associates to the owner actually hands on with everything. They have a loyalty program where winners could win a gift card with the lucky receipt number. They are very family oriented with the various varieties of hard & soft serve ice creams and Italian ices. They have a cow outside of the place indicating if they are open or not. The kids tend to like to get their picture taken with it. Prices are good (compared to where I live in the NYC/PHL area) and the service was good. I like how they accept credit cards for purchases over $2 (as many ice cream places tend to be a cash business like pizza) I regret that I didn't know about the place until I after graduated from Bloomsburg.
