Girl did a great customer service for my pedicure but owner was very very very rude becuse he didn't ask me more questions about my need and when I told him what I want he throw nail machine on my hand and was very rude and misbheaved with me and I refuse to get my nails done because it hurted me. I was in the area and managed to get a walk-in appointment to get my old shellac manicure polish removed. The service was $15. The nail tech was efficient and thorough with the polish removal. The skin around my nails were intact. The service included nail shaping and cuticle oil. read more

Nails i'm always excited to get my nails done but a christmas mani even more so. i went a couple days ago and had a shit experience b/c the tech - Daisy - didn't execute the shape i wanted at all. like - not even in the same wheelhouse soooo i went back to get them fixed from someone else but she ended up confronting me & arguing that it wasn't her fault (even though i gave her direction as to what i wanted). anyway - much to my disappointment she agreed to fix just two nails because they were pretty awful and while she did it she had the gall to ask if i was happy in my life. i'm not KIDDING. the AUDACITY. she's like " life's short and i haven't seen you smile" this is after she butchered my nails and wouldn't redo them. she then proceeded to ask me twice more if i was happy in my life and that if i am i should smile more. if i was a different person i would've got up and flipped the table over. she was being rude and catty while i was calm and trying my best to be apologetic. i told her that i was indeed very happy but didn't find the need to sit there and smile like a maniac especially since i have chronic tmj pain that makes my jaw hurt when i smile. BUT that's not anyone's business. Also - this is 15 hours after meeting her for the first time. needless to say i'm never going back there (it wasn't my usual salon ) not because of the vehement commitment to proving the client wrong but for the disrespect and lack of tact. not only did she not listen when I told her what shape I wanted but the combination of fighting with me after the fact and then proceeding to be rude and antagonistic is enough for me to never go here again. too bad because there are a few good nail technicians there. read more

I have been going here since it had opened and have been coming every month. It was a great place to go, but recently I have seen a huge turnover in staff and the quality of service has severely declined. I went with my son and his wife one day and his wife is Vietnamese and she was texting us saying that they didn't want to do my son's feet, it was way too much for them. I made a decision that maybe this isn't the place I want to go anymore, but then my friend had a gift certificate I bought her and asked me to go with her. So the last time we went the girl I had was very rough on my feet, twisting and putting a huge amount of pressure on my ankles by bending them sideways and was extremely rough. She did a half fast job on my heels, didn't do my cuticles properly, and the nail polished spilt over to the skin of my toes. The seat my friend was to sit in wasn't draining properly and she commented on it and they still stuck her in that chair. Clearly there were hygiene concerns about this. but no one seemed to care. Even when the pedicure was done the chair didn't drain. Overall, this place is not what it once used to be and I will be looking for another place that can provide better staff, hygiene and service. read more

My first time at Purple Nails: Booked manicure/pedicure. Nail polishes that were picked were not useable as they were dried up when opened. Told they were not used much? Asked to pick other colours. Manicure was rough and was cut by nail tools. Asked for ice/cold water to stop bleeding. There was no ice, technician put ointment on it. Wound continued to bleed then was hurt more by squirting alcohol on finger. I will not be returning to this location! read more

I got a shellac manicure on Wed June 8th at 5:30pm; by Thurs June 9th 10pm 4 nails were chipped. By Friday, my pinky nail had literally broken off and now 6 nails were chipped. I had a trip to Kelowna so I wasn't able to go back in until Monday. When I did go in, I told them the situation (and had photos with time-stamps) the woman who had done my nails immediately started saying something that sounded rude in her language and made me sit there awkwardly for 20 min before they "fixed" my nails. The girl who "fixed" them basically just filed them extremely short (to the point where my pinky was actually bleeding) instead of re-doing the shellac like they should have. The worst part was 3 of the re-done nails chipped AGAIN the very next day! In fact the second time, the girl had actually re-done one of my thumbs and half of the top coat was peeling off! I have been here a few times now with old ownership and new ownership and honestly it just gets better! I am a nail technician myself and I'm SUPER picky but Kim and her team are phenomenal! I've had Tammy do my artificial nails a month ago and they lasted 4-5 weeks WITHOUT lifting although 2-3 weeks is recommended !!! I kept getting compliments even when they were super grown out. I used to come here all the time as my go-to spot. I have since changed but they deliver great quality nails and have never left me disappointed. The prices are fair and at par with most other places if not even less! It is also very clean inside and looks really pretty too. I thought that I would give this place one more chance, after being so rudely greeted the last time I walked in to get my nails done! only because it is so close to my home. But today! that was it! not only was the person on the phone RUDE! but she actually liked to me about their price for a fill while she had me on the phone! and it was as if she was chewing something/eating while she was talking to me! with no afford to be nice or polite or pleasant for that matter! I usually go to a different salon for a pedicure, but thought I'd try this place for a change. Phoned this morning to make an appointment and the lady I spoke with said to come in at 3:30. I got there just before 3:30....at 3:45 she sat me in the pedicure chair and said someone would be with me soon. I was still sitting there at 3:55 without a technician and without any indication one was coming. I don't mind waiting 5-10 or even 15 minutes beyond my appointment time, but 25-30 minutes late is just bad scheduling on their part and a waste of my time. I go in regularly for gel nails. Generally, I phone and make an appointment because sometimes they are booked up and can't do a walk-in. All of the girls do a good job and they are quite friendly. The shop is very clean. Prices are slightly higher than other shops for the same service. Overall, I am really happy with them and will continue to patronize them. read more

Discovered this great nail salon today. The nail salon is just a year old so it is nice and new . It is also very clean . Had a pedicure and they did a great job .They have the plastic liners that they put in the foot bath that are disposable which is a plus if you are worried about picking up something . The product they use smells great ,Orange scrub . They have a huge selection of polish and they do a nice hot rock massage on your feet / legs .The shaw open wifi connection is not that great but they have a TV to watch .Marilyn was on . The price for the pedicure was $30 which is about what everyone charges . The lady who did my pedicure was the owner and she was very friendly and we chatted for awhile . I also had my eyebrows done by some else who works there . I am fair so there was some redness which is normal but it was a bit more red than I usually am .The price was a bit higher than I usually pay for this service but not much higher . I would definitely go back for another pedicure .I would probably also try the waxing again . It was less painful than usual but more red so it is a toss up. I would just need it done day before I needed to go somewhere. I did like that they have private rooms for waxing vs having your face waxed in public. Just an update after a few hours the redness went away so it really was not that bad. read more
