PCSB approved a stolen, photo-copied check from me not once, but TWICE, to be withdrawn from my account. On top of it, there was NO signature on the endorsement line, and they let the same check (#1200) be approved, until my account was in the NEGATIVE. Now I may be broke for a few weeks, and have to wait for them to put my money they HANDED out, back into my account... despite it being due to their inability to legally process checks. They are blaming the other bank that the thief deposited the check into. I went into the Mt. Kisco office to cash a check that was signed over to me. Myself and the person who the check is from, both have accounts at Putnam County. Maria would not let me cash the check. I explained I have had no problem in the past with the Yorktown or Somers branch, including my Chase branch. She told me they are all not following restrictions if they are allowing you to cash this check. She made me feel like a criminal. I have been with Putnam for many years and will be withdrawing all my money to another bank. Putnam lost my business, because Maria was not educated on the rules. Terrible! read more

I worked with Westchester Residential known as WRO which offers a first time homebuyers program. When working with WRO they encouraged you to work with PCSB bank in order to obtain a first time home buyers grant called the Dreams Act that provides $9500 to first time home buyers . Working with PCSB bank was a horror and horror is an understatement. They told me I qualified for the grant and I submitted all documents needed in June. The bank liaison I was working with was Doreen who had very little knowledge regarding the grant I was applying for despite her informing me I qualified and that it will be available to me. Every day I would ask her for updates and she would not answer my questions or concerns. Weeks went by and I was informed Doreen was not available because she was sick then on vacation a total of 4 weeks out adding another 4 weeks of delays in my mortgage process. I was then assigned Rosanne who continued to inform me I qualified for the grant and I needed to submit additional paper work that I previously submitted in order to receive the grant. In the end I never received the grant and instead received a total of 3.5 months of delays. As per the bank I now didn't qualify despite them telling me a total of 4 times that I did . My question is how can a bank guarantee you a grant and include it in your loan agreement without even knowing if you qualify. Yes I understand they have no control who gets the grant because it is applied through another agency but why tell the consumer they are getting something if they have no confirmation and keep them waiting . I believe this is false representation and fraud from their part. I truly believe this bank preys on minorities by using this first time home buyers grants in order for you to take out a mortgage with them. In the end I had months of stress, never received the grant and was days from being homeless from all the delays of getting my new home . This bank lacks communication and never even provided me an apology despite me reaching out to management on the issue . Please save yourself and go get your mortgage loan from a well-known bank. I thought this small bank would provide me with good consumer service but it was the worst experience I ever received in my life. read more

Beware of this banks practices. They take two party checks as deposits with no request for signature verification. Over 80k was deposited into their bank fraudulently. No request for identification of the signatures.. that money was removed from an account that was left from an estate and allowed to be deposited into their bank without ever asking for proof of or identification of the signatures.. read more

Great local bank. I unfortunately had to switch to Chase as I am moving out of the area, will truly miss PCSB!

I like this bank, but we usually use the Brewster branch. Small place with friendly employees, basic services without a lot of fees, better interest rates than 0.01%! Their website and some of their services can really use an update though. read more

This is a great, friendly, local bank. It's nice to have a place close to home where the employees know you at the branch. Everyone has always been more than helpful and very good to us. They are very community minded too. This was my "back up" bank for my savings account for years, and we have switched everything in the past year or so now that they FINALLY offer a MasterCard Debit Card! I hope they continue to expand on products and services in the future. read more
