Q-Stix is so-so for snooker. I have been playing there for a few years now when I first joined the tables were in reasonable condition (definitely playable). Over time, though, they are now falling into disrepair. Most have bare rubber showing, a pronounced roll (since this can only really be corrected during a re-cover), and dead patches in the cushions. There are 10 snooker tables perhaps two remain playable.
On top of this, they have some real issues with room temperature too. In winter the radiators are on automatically so irrespective of whether it's too hot or not the bar staff cannot override them. Conversely, during the summer months the air con is not on by default, the room warms up, and by the time air con is turned on, the room is so warm it has trouble bringing the overall temperature down. The room needs some serious investment to become a good place to play snooker again.
They do also offer some food, a few nibbles and soft/alcoholic drinks. Be warned they are fussy about you bringing your own sweets in (even if they don't offer what you sell).
The bar staff are generally friendly, but even they are aware of the place's limitations. read more
