I had the traditional breakfast with bacon, potatoes, toast and salsa. My eggs were over medium. My husband had the traditional breakfast with ham, croissant roll and his eggs were over easy. I also ordered a pot of tea and asked if I could have a refill pot of hot water after I finished this one. The answer was yes. There are many places to see on the ferry and my next choice was the gift store. Every gift store is different. This ship didn't have the British Columbia section of books for sale, but they had nice looking clothes for men and women. I took my reading selection and finished my time next to my hubby with my cup of unfinished tea. Next trip I will provide photos.

I went with my daughter and my young grandson--it was his very first time on a boat, and now he's totally hooked! The captain went out of his way to make it extra special for him, and I'm so grateful to the entire crew for making us feel so welcome. It's clear this little boat has a big heart. We'll definitely be riding again many times next summer! The ride between Semiahmoo and Blaine is smooth and scenic. Because of an accident, I had to change my reservation to a day earlier. We needed to get off the island ASAP and get back to the states in case my wife needed to see a doctor or be hospitalized. Customer service was good to work with. They listened to my story and helped me change my reservation a couple of times. No waiving of fees, not that I was hoping for fee waiver. They did their job and was able to make reservations on the ferry that my wife wanted. Car boarding instructions was a little unclear. I wanted to keep my wife in the car as we made our crossing. I was told that we were supposed to go up to the seating area. Later on I found out that she could've stayed in the car. It was a nice ferry ride from Victoria to Vancouver. It was very smooth compared to the Port Angeles to Victoria ferry ride where it was a little rough. Also, the BC Ferry to/from Victoria and Vancouver is scheduled for almost every hour. BC Ferries is like a well oiled machine. I most likely will take it again to make up for what our medical emergency made us miss.

For walk-on, the waiting area is very close to the entrance to the terminal and so you can arrive quite late and still make it on to the ferry. There is a free luggage check-in service from Swartz Bay to Tsawassen that I use all the time. Just weigh the bag, attach a heavy tag if necessary and slide it down the baggage slide! I love it as I don't have to carry luggage onto the ferry. Luggage arriving from Vancouver get put on the carousel outside - it can sometimes take awhile to arrive. From the vehicle side, it's very easy to get on with a ferry reservation. If arriving early enough, there is very little lines to get in and service is very fast. There is a small cafe once in the waiting area to use the washroom and grab snacks. The terminal staff are all very nice and informative. Everything is well labeled so visitors won't get lost. It is also pretty clean considering how many people travel through each day. On holidays and weekends, it can be crowded. There are two bus lines that go to downtown which are very slow and get crowded quickly. Sometimes it won't even be able to fit everyone and people have to wait at least an hour for the next one. There are taxis that typically wait outside the terminal, but there are usually very few so be sure to get outside quickly.

I don't think it should be named a "ferry" terminal when it's a CRUISE SHIP TERMINAL. Well, we learned quickly and drove about an hour to this Tsawwassen Ferry Terminal. We didn't have reservations, but luckily we're able to board as "walk-ins". The ride was uneventful. There was a gift shop, cafeteria, and restrooms available. We had brought snacks, so we ate on board. We were able to walk around the outside of the ferry after we parked our car and made a note of what level and what stairway were closest. Overall, it was an alright experience. We know what to do next time!

We bought our tickets at the Capital City Station on Douglas Street in Victoria, and Sandy was absolutely wonderful, friendly, helpful, and patient. She even got us seats for October 13, 2025, which was Thanksgiving. Every company needs a Sandy, she deserves 5 stars for her service. Once we boarded the bus, things went downhill. Our driver, James wasn't very approachable. His responses were short, and he came across as a bit grouchy. It was a holiday, so we understand, but as first-time passengers, we found his instructions unclear and he seems to not welcome questions. When the ferry docked at Tsawwassen, we didn't hear it was time to reboard the bus to continue to downtown Vancouver. We missed the announcement and ended up being left behind, but our checked bags and personal items were still in the bus to Vancouver. Thankfully, the staff at Tsawwassen terminal were great. They guided us, called ahead to Pacific Station BC Ferries, and made sure we could retrieve our bags. When we finally reunited with the bus, James didn't seem particularly concerned or empathetic, which made an already stressful situation feel worse. We blame ourselves for missing the bus. But for future improvements, clearer announcements and louder overhead speakers would help first-time travelers. Even a quick name call for missing passengers would go a long way.

It's pretty hard to tell which direction the ferry is going next though unless you're very familiar with the routes, so make sure you ask the driver just in case. I find that the ones I've interacted with all ask you where you're going before letting you on, so at least I haven't taken the wrong boat yet. They have a zone system for ticketing and at first it was a bit confusing for which zone ticket was needed to go where. But they have nice maps at each stop so it wasn't too hard to decipher after awhile. The boat drivers were also pretty nice and were happy to answer questions about tickets. I took the boats during the Big Picnic event at David Lam park. There were other people on the boat but it was not crowded at all. Boats also came all the time and so we didn't have to wait much before ours came. The boat doors were left open when I rode the boats and so it was really nice to be able to take pictures and videos without obstruction from the windows or clear screens. The creek is relatively calm most of the time and the rides are short, so most people probably won't get sea sick.
