Sales Agent was helpful at times as well but we feel that she could have been a better communicator. We were told by her that we would receive weekly construction updates but that was not the case. Pulte in general: We have felt from the very beginning that Pulte has viewed us as dollar signs and not as individuals. We recognize your intention is to build homes quickly and make money. However throughout the process, future homeowners should be considered. Immediately after signing the contract and paying our deposit, we felt we became enslaved to "Pulte policies and procedures." Having 30 days to complete a multitude of tasks all between the inconvenient hours of 8 to 5 Monday through Friday for working professionals as well as traveling over an hour to complete these takes takes some of the enjoyment out of building a custom home. Pulte Mortgage: We felt an extraordinary amount of pressure to use Pulte mortgage which ultimately led us to us another lendor. We were badgered and would describe Pulte mortgage as being no better than telemarketers and debt collectors. Pulte Insurance: See above in mortgage section PGP Title: Our closing agent did a nice job in a tough situation however as we discussed in the questionnaire, it is completely unacceptable to be notified via email 4 hours ahead of closing with a change of date and time. We walked out of the closing with no joy or excitement to finally own our brand new home. The process completely deflated that experience. We are still waiting for an apology from Pulte as a company for taking away that joy. Overall, we are very pleased with our Pulte home structurally, architecturally and as of now, value of our home. It would be difficult in the future if we build another home, to solely look at Pulte. With our dissatisfaction with Pulte as a company we thoroughly enjoyed the personal relationships we built with Field manager and Sales rep. We respect them greatly and would work with them again in the future.

They lied to us regarding an upgrade on our railings. They showed is the demo home and told us it was a $1,400.00 upgrade to get additional railings going up the stairs. I believe it was 6 on each side. They only added 3 on each side and foe the last 2 years they have been playing us around. Finally someone named Mike emailed me and tried giving me some bull story about the elevation of my house??? Funny thing is my neighbor has the exact elevation and same layout and they have 6 railings on each side. When our neighbor showed us their house they told us the builder said they had extra railings laying around so they added them to their staircase. I asked Mike to call me and he just emailed me saying Pulte can change the layout last minute regarding the build. The guy won't even call me because he's hiding behind his emails. I asked for a refund on the upgrade or let them come and fix it and he told me to have a nice weekend. He won't call me back. Please Do Not Purchase a Pulte Home no matter how good you think the deal is. It is Not worth it, pay a little more if you can and buy from any other builder. They will lie to you just to get the deal done. Horrible service once the deal is done , they ate thieves.

I put a deposit down on a lot late last year and then discovered I was facing multiple…read moresurgeries from major injuries and could not do the move across country from the West Coast to Michigan. In addition to a recent unexpected loss and illness causing major delays, I could not see selling my home to buy this one having needed a place for recoveries. I notified them as soon as this was told to me, within a couple months of doing paperwork last JANUARY in the middle of winter...NO building or excavation or any movement on construction had begun. ONLY paperwork. They are refusing to not only give the deposit back, but are threatening to build the entire house making me find money to purchase it only to immediately sell. They are even refusing to allow another buyer to assume the build! Nothing that I am going through has been addressed...nothing. They simply say they will not allow me out of the build. The stress of going through this and the physical things I am facing has tripled my stress along with recent personal loss of my long time service dog. I relayed my concerns and unknowns to the salesperson during the original transaction. His response was, "We are not in the habit of keeping people's deposits." I trusted this person and now am facing a year of extreme stress dealing with this while trying to get well. I had not even finished the selection process, it was so early in the purchase. His response was they would just choose things themselves and go through with the build. When this lot in this large community could easily be sold to someone else with the same build, NO ONE can understand this treatment and why they would put a senior who is struggling through this. EVERYONE should know this is happening as I reached out early when I found out to mitigate any other expenses. Your home build should be special and meaningful and make you want to belong to the community, especially at this time in our life. No one who has followed this treatment will ever have anything to do with this company or community. Del Webb and Pulte should be ashamed. I have waited in good faith and must put my efforts to getting well, but I will always reman shocked that a company this large would care so little. I thank everyone who has been there to support a widow alone. It has not been easy dealing with something so senseless.
