If I could give this place 0 stars I would. This hotel was INFESTED WITH ROACHES, it was absolutely disgusting. In our room alone we saw at least 10 roaches, including big ones and babies. The cleanliness of everything was overall awful. The entire hotel smelt disgusting and was very dirty and eerie. The breakfast in the morning was gross, low options, and their waffle / pancake makers would not operate correctly leaving the food RAW, even after leaving them in for twice the recommended time. DO NOT STAY HERE. It is not worth your business and honestly comes with only negatives. read more

Total bad experience. When they Couldn't get tv remote to work we were told we could change it at the television. There were tower air conditioners which were loud and vented out towards the pool because there was no window. Bathtub was extremely slippery. Washcloth looked like someone washed the car with it. Area around the hotel was littered and seemed unsafe. When we were getting ready to check out I turned the light on in the corner of the room a cockroach ran across the floor molding. Because there wasn't a chair or luggage holder my luggage was on the floor. This is not everything but I think you can understand I didn't like it. read more

What a disgusting place from the time we turned into the street I thought "this might not be good" so I check in and right away I'm told the room we had booked with their reservation desk was not a pet friendly room so we have to change. The thing at the desk was a joke and really could not be worse. So I say ok only have it for one night as we've been driving all day. We go to the room and OMFG you have to be kidding, I would not even let my yorkies stay in this room, just disgusting walls with looked like on the walls, bad scratches on the door. The floors were slimy the dresser was filthy. I would say stay away. I called the Best Western Hotel and it's so much better. This place should not be allowed to have rooms like that for patrons. Nasty! This place does not put the quality in Quality Inn. The first room we had was thick with cigarette smoke so we got a second room that smelled less of cigarette smoke. The floors were so dirty we got mud on our feet when we got out of the shower. When we asked for more towels, we were told we had to bring our old towels to the front desk so they could count. We asked for an extra pillow and were denied because they determined we had enough already. Never again. read more

Stay nights of 9/8-9/9. 1 cockroach seen in bathroom both nights when lights turned flipped on. Mattresses Way too soft. Need to be replaced in my opinion. Pool and playground area is in the center of an enclosed courtyard with rooms around them and is open until 10 PM (EST) so if you want any sleep before 10PM DO NOT stay here because the kids screaming/playing ECHOS in your room until 10 PM! Free standing floor air conditioning unit makes way too much noise to keep on at night. Phone had a message signal light but no way to take message off the phone. I called the front desk and was told to "ignore it." Told desk person about roaches when we checked out and she was NOT shocked, nor apologized. Said she would "tell maintenance." I'm not sure why some sites gave this only 2-3 stars. The lobby, halls, and rooms were well kept, the room even looked recently renovated and was very clean and comfortable. The service was great and happily I got a key card that I did not have to keep away from my keys and phone to ensure it would work. It's far enough off the street that it is a little tough to find without GPS and no signage at the main street but otherwise the location was near the interstate exit/entrance and convenient. It is not luxury by any means but definitely would stay here again. read more

I come down to Coldwater from GR at least four times a year and this hotel is always my go to. I've tried other hotels in the area, but this one is the cleanest and has the friendliest staff. They were bought by a new management company just over a year ago and I've seen only good improvements since than. The pool area was refinished and they also added cellphone charger plugs in the rooms. The prices here are great too! Update 12/2016: since changing over to a quality inn, some awesome improvements have been done here. They recently added a full workout area, including free weights and a large indoor jungle gym for the kids. read more

I give ZERO stars. Spent 120.00 for a jacuzzi room. The bath was so small and when we finally got into it at 11pm, IT DIDNT WORK. When I complained to the clerk in the morning and asked to be charged for a regular room, she refused. read more

This is not a 4 star hotel. Maybe a 3 star. I booked two rooms for a beauty pageant, one of which had 5 people in it...with only two fresh towels after day one. My experience may differ from yours but I was so disappointed with "quality" that I felt I owed it to you my dear readers to post my experience. The TV had a chip in the screen, the remote was only at 30%, and when I requested new batteries and towels it took over an hour for them to deliver it. Which brings me to my point...lesson learned. If you want a good nights sleep and a fresh shower with super hot water then this place is for you. If you want a hotel with natural light then this place is for you. Our rooms were poolside on a weekend, but we specifically asked to be away from the noise. I didn't mind it as much as my kids did. If you want a hotel room with two exits, then this place is for you. If you want a hotel with an indoor play structure in the middle of it then this hotel is for you. My guests had a 1 star experience - the heater/air conditioner either blew out cold air or hot air without an in between. They have key cards that you swipe for access. I had to go through two sets of them making trips back and forth from the room to the front desk before management told me that he just came from there and that the keys were working...but nobody told me that the doors facing the pool were exit only (until the manager showed me to the correct door). read more

My family and I stayed here for just a little get away and we enjoyed it very much. The room was very clean, the pool and hot tub was also. We enjoyed the free breakfast as well. When we decide to come back to Coldwater, we will be staying here. The staff was very nice, and the place for the most part was very quiet, the only thing I would say needs to be fixed is the 2nd floor door by the gameroom. I kept hearing it slam when people would go in and out. Other than that, no complaints here! read more

BE WARNED ! So......Not a lot good to say and I don't post poor reviews. In no particular order.... When you sit on the right side of the bed the bed....the bed almost tips over rising on the left side a good foot. The room seems good at first glance, but we found 2 wet wash cloths upon checking in. There is an "in room" portable AC unit that is a bit loud. We left for the day at 9:30 AM. When we returned there was no room service done. Nobody entered the room. When the washcloths were reported upon check in I got a shrug of the shoulders and a "must have been left by housekeeping while they were cleaning" When we asked about why the room was not made up the response was "if there was anything personal left on your bed they will not make the bed" When I said they did not do anything (trash, sink, floor) or even enter the room she said that "there is no service available after 4:30" We asked and received more clean towels and nothing else was offered. read more

Long story short, there was a leak in the jacuzzi in the room above ours and we had water all over our bathroom, and when we told the staff, they only offered us more towels. I talked to management later and was not satisfied with their offer (15% off our NEXT stay. Yeah, right). Our jacuzzi didn't work at all despite our following the directions, and neither did the remote to our tv. When I went to take a shower in our adjoining room (which they required because we had 2 adults and 3 children under 9) the facet fell off in my hand. Decided to get a jacuzzi room for the weekend. They put us in a room that was conjoined to another room and we could hear everything from people next door like there wasn't even a door between us. We were moved to the next room and the jacuzzi didn't work- told the front desk twice and they didn't seem to care- like they knew it was broken. The people wandering around were very sketchy and made us feel uncomfortable. Needless to say, we went to leave and our car alarm was going off and the car had been messed with. I am the head coach of a collegiate track and field team and we needed a place to stay for the famous Gina Relays held at Hillsdale College. By far the best team hotel I ever stayed at when it came to value, cleanliness, and hospitality. There was a swimming pool that my athletes stayed in that was relaxing after their races. Healthy breakfast with fruit, good coffee, etc. Rooms were very clean and the beds were so damn comforatble. There were other teams staying here as well. There was also a game room here as well. There were some healthy restaurants around plus a Buffalo Wild Wings. I heard Hillsdale, Michigan had one OK hotel in the Days Inn, but if you are in the area for the Gina Relays then this is the best hotel to stay at. Only 20 to 30 minutes away from Hillsdale College. We will stay here again next year. read more

Stayed at poolside room. Pool looked ok. Didn't have time to swim. Dresser drawers were dirty and called guest service who came and cleaned them right away. AC/Heater vent was VERY loud. Luckily weather outside was nice & didn't need to run AC at night....because there is NO Way I could have slept thru the noise. Annoying that someone in next room over knocked on wall. Breakfast was good. Biscuits and gravy was a nice "treat". I stayed at motel in Indiana the very next night for 1/2 the cost of Comfort Inn and actually it was overall nicer -no breakfast but room AC was quiet and newer construction. read more

I Live here in cold water and I just wanted to get away with my girlfriend for a couple days so I chose the Quality Inn... I think I called the holiday inn first but they didn't have what I was looking for...We got our room and ended up having a minor problem which I informed the front desk about...the manager was notified... they went above and beyond the call of duty for us... The manager took care of everything and gave us an upgrade... he didn't have to do any of the stuff he did... but he took care of everything and then some... if I ever have family stay in the area...I would most definitely have them stay at the Quality Inn...The pool area was nice and clean... they have a little bit of everything and most of all...the staff was wonderful...the stay was nice and relaxing... read more

Definitely not the cleanest hotel I've ever stayed in. Lost if dust built up on the vents. Shower curtain didn't reach the tub so the water leaked out the bottom causing the bathroom to get soaked. Initially the hotel tried over charging me by raising the normal rate and then reducing it to a government rate which still ended up being more than the normal rate. Which has still not been corrected. Nastiest hotel I've ever stayed in. Stay away from this place!!!! read more

Room Smelled So I Wanted to Check Out, but I Wasn't Given a Refund I booked a room here as it was the only room available in the area - literally. The room smelled damp and chlorine-like. My room was on the top floor, but with a pool-facing room, all you can smell in the halls and the room is chlorine, and a strong chlorine smell. The room also had a sour smell to it like a damp towel was left out, as did the bathroom. I had checked in for a one-night stay, but after walking into to the room and realizing I just couldn't stay there for the night due to the smell, I walked back to the front desk and checked out less than 10 minutes later. I was told by the front desk person that my account was "zero'd out" and no charge would be applied. A few days later, a charge was on my card. I called the hotel and spoke the manager who then told me there is a 24 hour cancellation policy and my money would not be refunded. He referred me to "corporate." That's $135 for less than 10 minutes, and I didn't even put my bag down on the carpet. I just walked in, smelled the air, and turned around and walked out. Stay away from this hotel and this hotel chain. They are not customer friendly. I never would have stayed here anyway if it wasn't the only room in town available at 3 AM on a Monday night. It's now a month later and after multiple calls to the speak to the manager and an email to their customer service on line has resulted in not even one call back from anyone and no reimbursement. I stayed here and my room was not ready in check in. The girl behind the counter got yelled at because she tried to get accommodate us while we waited! I originally wanted the room for 2 nights but after all this so far I decided to cancel my 2nd night at check in. "Abe" who I'm thinking is the manager, told me that is might pull out and hold the full amount for both nights but it will put my 2nd night back on my card in a couple days. That didn't make me happy but I decided to just go because we were tired! Two weeks later, I am still calling to get my money back for the 2nd night! I normally don't do bad reviews and If I could give negative stars I would .. we booked a family suite they put us right next to game room. Which it fine except they don't close game room at scheduled time. So.. 12 am the first night we heard a whole air hockey game in our room. I called front desk.. next day I went and asked politely what time game room closed . 10 pm and the staff promised to let night staff know to close room. 1130 wake up.. air hockey again. I had to call.. so.. we had to move to a way smaller room. The whole point of the family suite was to give our family room on our extended stay. But we needed sleep so we were okay with that . The 3 days of our trip we had no hot water in our room. Which makes for a really cold shower . The staff didn't bother to inform us on the 2nd day our room would not be getting hot water . No note, no call , no message .. nada. We were offered to go to another room and shower far from our room. We kindly did it and tried to understand the best we could. Last day we asked to speak to gm or manager . He was in the building ( I saw him as I walked to check out) and hid from us. Yes, folks like hide and seek except he ran and hid.. my inlaws had had the same problem of water in their room. He was supposed to "call " us. As you can guess he did not. All we honestly wanted was an apology for mis communication or lack of and 40 percent off 2 nights that we did not have Water. They gave us one night at 40 percent off. It was a joke.. I had to call corporate and complain. I'm not one to complain, lose my temper or be rude. Needless to say I was and still am pretty upset at the horrible service we received as I should be. We had a long trip planned and I was hoping our hotel would be a place we could go and unwind and have a hot shower. Because there are 2 things a hotel should get right it's a semi quiet nights sleep and hot showers.. so if you want cold showers , horrible customer service and you like to play hide and seek when you get bad service . This is your place. But I would skip it.. go to local dive motel you'll get better service read more

This was probably the WORST experience I have ever had in hotel. It was very nasty and dirty. My aunt found a bed bug on her, so my uncle told us to get out of the pool, and told us what happened. So the kids including I, started freaking out. My mom and I went back to our room to start looking for bugs. When we lifted my parent's sheet, on the mattress protector there were brown things the size of a pebble on the bed, not bugs, but very nasty. So then we lifted my bed mattress, there lied a little worm (most likely a maggot , we think that because of the flies flying around). So we scooped the little worm into a cup. When my uncle and my dad told the manager, he was laughing in their face. Very unprofessional. Long story short they sent up a guy to check, other than the maggot, no bed bugs. I can go on and on why you should not stay here, like the walls were peeling and it was just very outdated. read more
