I slept for over four hours when she came back and found a bed bug laying right on her pillow! We called front desk and housekeeping came and confirmed what we already knew. They put our clothes in bags and moved us to another room on the first floor (possibly moving them with us?) and comped the stay but I still will never set foot on that property again!

Which is a third party company where you can book motel/hotel rooms around the world. The front desk clerk informed me that you can almost always find a better rate if you can the motel/hotel directly. And even if the motel doesn't beat the internet rate with Expedia, they will probably match it. The room itself was a 2 queen size beds. The room was fairly clean. Nothing negative to say about it. They offered breakfast in the morning but I didn't up leaving before breakfast. I wouldn't be opposed to going back here again.

Tv channels were the clearest of any I've seen in any hotel. My only complaint would be that the showers had barely any water pressure, and that by 10am the hot water tank seemed empty, but quite possible due to it being -30 degrees Celsius outside. It went down and was up and down Mon and Tuesday. You had to pay cash at the restaurant due to the internet (or if you had a credit card put on file for your room before it crashed Sunday). I brought this up to the front desk staff several times and they offered nothing (other than saying I could go down the street to Tim Hortons and use their wifi). Honestly, if I hadn't booked through a travel ap i would have demanded my money back and gone elsewhere (like the one next door that didn't seem to have any issues). Do better.

This round was for breakfast and we were a group of 4 adults and 3 children. Where the place is not lacking is portion sizes for most of the dishes. The mix plate dishes (e.g. Eggs; pancakes; etc) were really large (too large to be honest). There is also combinations that do not make a lot of sense (e.g. You usually don't get pancakes AND toast). The problem with these dishes were execution. Eggs were fine, home fries were white and under cooked, toast was so thin buttering them broke the slice, and the pancakes were flavourless. My wife had a breakfast wrap which was hilariously small. It looked almost miniature novelty sized. Fortunately, everyone else's food was so over portioned that there was more than enough to pass on to her. The place apparently has been taken over by new owners. They are Indian and are launching an Indian menu in mid-September. That will hopefully be something they enjoy themselves and have some good family recipes to delivery to the locals. I wondered in the back where they have a bar & grill type place. It was nice looking and they had a couple of decent beers on tap. Might be a better evening spot.

Despite my review, I know it's not going anywhere and its business won't be affected...even though it should be. Today I went there with family visiting from the Caribbean. The hours said "open 12-8pm" which I thought was great because my brother had asked me to get a sweater for him that reps the business. I drive out there, it's about 25 minutes from where I live, gate is open but all the doors are closed. So myself, my wife, and visiting family say "okay, we'll grab a couple of chairs from the deck, have a drink and wait till someone comes" We had a cooler with us from earlier adventures but we love the Fort's signature drink, the sunset and we had told our guests about them. We were all pretty jacked to have one on a rare sunny September weekday. The owner, who I think is named Trevor Miller, shows up, marches up to us and immediately starts telling us that we can't use chairs from the deck and can't drink alcohol there. He didn't ask us anything, didn't care about our intentions, just straight up told us to beat it. If he had have said "hey guys, we normally don't let people use our chairs and we don't usually let people use our chairs, but are you intending to stay till we open?" Or anything aimed at understanding our intentions, he would have sold a sweater and a round of drinks. Instead, he got four people who said "well that was not something that made me want to support this place" 1. Make sure your business hours are reflective of the reality (especially in seasonal business) 2. You get more bees with honey (I got my brother a whitewater sweater instead and bought a 24 of tall boys..cause they seem to appreciate my money) 3. the fort can suck it cause I will not be back and neither will my family
