This hotel was a very mixed bag for us. The decor is lovely - very upscale and new in both the public spaces and rooms. The breakfast was very good and they have a very nice exercise room with 4 pieces of equipment, all of which work perfectly (unusual in my experience). However, when we were there the Internet was non-existent (broken according to the manager), they had discontinued the prominently advertised HBO, and the phone in our room was broken (the desk person swapped it for one in another room). These lacks were really a shame in a place so otherwise excellent. read more

Stayed here for work. AC unit has mold growing all over it. Room smells wet. Room is cold but humid as Louisiana. Bathroom door doesn't even shut at all because it has a huge bow in it. It's criminal to charge 650 a week for mold and nastiness. Worst, sweaty, freezing, sleep of my life. read more

Hotel is dirty. Boxes of sinks and other stuff sitting in lobby between doors. Told us to enter through side door at end of building to access our room, 109. Sign on door reads "for the safety of our guests this door to remain locked 24 hours ..." however the door didn't even had a mechanism to slide or scan your key to unlock the door. It was unlocked and open. Definitely not safe. Our room had a key hole to unlock the door from the outside, like with a key AND a card. Weird. Ended up pulling furniture in front of the door for our safety. Hotel was loud, people upstairs were up all night. Breakfast was not much! A little serval, a few poorly wrapped muffins. No fruit. absolutely the WORST place we have ever stayed, we were duped by hotels.com, doesn't deserve even one star, the reviews and pictures were not correct doors could not be locked going into the building and our door to the room was not secure, we have a complaint with the health department and also OHSA, trying to get a refund for the one night we stayed, was suppose to be two nights but we left, called and the manager said that we knew we were booking cheap and to F off. this hotel is also used to lock up criminals for weekend instead of jail and they had a group of them there that weekend we were there, they were all checking us out when we were checking in. our room looked like a crime scene, we went back to the desk within 5 mins to get a refund and leave and the woman said she could not refund without her manager who was gone for a week DO NOT STAY HERE! This place is a ripoff. First if you book on line the charge is non refundable. Second, the clerk charged us (2 senior citizens) an unadvertised "security deposit" of $150. WTF !! Third, this pet friendly charges an additional $20 per night for your pet if you advised them upon booking and $120 if you did not advise them prior to your arrival. Not budget friendly at all ! Forth, the advertised free hot breakfast was cancelled. (We had booked specifically for this as we did not want to search for a restaurant in an unfamiliar city in the morning). My mom and I stayed here on our to SD with my dog. It was awful! The smoke detector had a plastic bag over it and the room reeked. It is not worth the savings to stay here. The place was not in good shape and I guess having a dog friendly room means having the worst room available. read more

I wish I could get this place zero stars. My daughter and I found ourselves stranded on slippery roads so we booked a room. I noticed that there was a cigarette and chewed gum on the floor and the next morning. I asked to speak to the manager and have called multiple times since then. After a month, I still haven't heard anything. The breakfast as mediocre but maybe my appetite would have been better if I wasn't so grossed out by the room. I would give a negative score if possible. Checked in to hotel, took a while due to non working equipment at front desk. Got in room, celling light wouldn't turn on, wires hanging from the ceiling from a non existing smoke detecter. Immediately started to change the sheets in the bed because I use my own bedding. Between the fitted sheet and comforter there was a bug bed. Immediately picked up my things,and my 2 young children and went to the desk, told them, he supposedly gave me a refund, we went to different hotel( this is 1130 at night, after driving 13 hrs) checked account the next morning and instead of giving refund they charged my card again. So I go back to this hotel, same guy working and told him they double charged me. He Immediately denied it, even tho I showed him my account transactions and called the bank, who said no refund 2 charges. He continued to blame it on the bank, claiming he refunded me. I continued to tell him no, they double charged me with no refund. He kicked me out, with no refund on either charge. Called the gm of the hotel only to be hung up on not once but twice and told he didn't want to listen to this. Called corporate and all they said was they would email the gm, the same guy who told me he didn't want to hear me. read more

My wife and I checked into the hotel at 10:30 pm after a long drive from Rapid City, SD. The room is decent with all the amenities - WiFi, fridge, etc. There is continental breakfast. At 1:20 am, a phone call woke us up. Without greetings, the person said "cut out the noises." I responded "We are sleeping. What are you talking about?" and told the person to walk around and investigate. After hanging up the phone, I called the front desk to verify the call and demanded an apology. The clerk simply said he would walk to investigate without an apology. How rude! The call interrupted our sleep. The next morning when checking out, I told the manager on duty about the incident. He simply gave an excuse that the person was a new employee. I definitely will NOT recommend this hotel. read more

Okay, I had some misgivings when I first got in, as clearly their maintenance service is not very up to speed. My door did not close properly (thankfully it beeped to warn me so I could close it), the toilet was running (fixed by jiggling the handle) & a piece was broken off the A/C unit and laying by the side. BUT otherwise the room was very nice for the inexpensive price, and everything worked well once I was settled in. This was my 4th night in a cross country trip from California, and let me just say that while the breakfast was of the same quality as I got elsewhere (incl. at a 4 star lodge in Truckee), they had a wider selection of choices than anywhere else. I took this motel because it was pet-friendly and a big relief to my cat to be inside and not left in the car. The real reason it gets such a high rating from me was 2 staff who were extremely helpful to me far into my trip when I was spread thin. First, Frank took my booking the day prior when I was still in Wyoming and considerately called in with me the following day to make sure I would make it and gave me directions when I missed an exit very close. Then when I left I accidentally left behind my laptop mouse and headphones, Mike called me when I was only 2 hours out to inform me and tell me he'd send them COD to my new place in Northern Minnesota. So the staff here is helpful and has heart. I won't say that the reviews below are incorrect, but my experience of the Sioux City Quality Inn was very positive, and I am appreciative. "Your mileage may vary," but this place was a refuge for me during an exhausting 2,100 mile drive. read more

Room was okay but not in great shape. The front door and bathroom door didn't fit right into the door jambs so I had to slam the door several times to get it to close. On my third day the manager called my room at 930am and told me I needed to "take my dog and leave the room" so it could be serviced. I explained I didn't need anything and he then told me I was free to check out and stay somewhere else if I didn't like it. I asked if they could come back in a few hours because I was leaving and he said no. So I sat outside with my dog for 30 minutes waiting. After I checked out and was on my way to the airport, the manager called me and told me I had to come back to pay a $60 pet fee (after showing the clerk my service animal paperwork upon check in). My room had a sign that toothbrushes, etc. were available at the front desk, however when checking in the clerk said they didn't have anything. My suitcase had been lost by the airline so this really sucked. Maybe remove the sign that you have these things if you don't really have them? Also there was a rat trap in pain view by the refrigerator at breakfast. Just gross. Juice were watered down. My room smelled like cigarette smoke. Basically, you get what you pay for. read more

Booked a reservation over a month in advance, for 2 non-smoking rooms. When we arrived, all they had left was smoking rooms, because there was a concert in town. The reservation desk was very apologetic, but that didn't help my asthma any. Luckily corporate offices found us some rooms at another place. read more

It was not advertised when booking that they do not have trailer parking, only a sign when you first pull in up the hill. The desk was rude, and suggested we unhook our uhaul and leave it in a separate spot (when it could easily be stolen that way) or to park it next door if we ask (a business that was currently closed). We were "upgraded" from a room with 2 beds to a larger room with a king bed, and a pull out couch that came with no sheets. The window was broken open as if someone tried to break in or out of it (not ok when travelling with pets). There was a hole in the carpet with exposed nails. Under the couch was a coathanger, and behind the ottoman was someone's sock. There were handles broken off the dresser and bugs in the hallway. After being told there were no other rooms prior, we were given another room after explaining the broken window (which was odd when they had no other rooms a few minutes ago). This room also had a window that did not shut all the way, but had a stopper on it to prevent it from being opened further. read more

We travel a lot and stay in a lot of hotels....this quality inn was way above the normal quality inns that I've stayed. We checked in at 12:30 am & got the last room! Beds were SUPER COMFORTABLE, fitness room was AWESOME (lots of options, good new equipment), nice breakfast, hotel had good free coffee at all hours, CLEAN room, friendly front desk guy. Not giving it 5 stars because it was a little pricey. read more

We came up to our room to drop off a couple things & when we went to go get the other items out of our car, the door didn't lock behind us (I don't know if it was locked on our way in because I didn't try opening it without the key). The gal at the front desk's initial suggestion was to just use the interior flip lock while we slept as a solution...The buttons on the lamps (yes there were multiple lamps with the same issue) had to be pushed several times before they would turn on. Stained chairs. The phone is from a Holiday Inn & still had the Holiday Inn logo on it?!? The phone wasn't plugged in along with the alarm clock and refrigerator...I don't know about you, but when a hotel has a fridge I expect that I can use it upon check-in. I wasn't looking for anything fancy, just a clean, safe place to sleep while passing through. I can't even write anymore, I'm so irritated. The only positive is that they offered a full refund, so I'm outta here (unfortunately we booked through Priceline though, so that was a whole other battle). read more

Hotel was fine, check in staff were pleasant. Parking is limited. When we got to our room we found the air conditioner unit had a very loud compressor knock, the casing of the unit was hanging off and had obviously been pulled off in an attempt to possibly quiet the unit. This exposed a filthy, moldy unit that most likely has never been serviced as the filters were fully clogged with dirt. When I brought the loud rapping issue to the attention of the front desk it was apparent to me that they were aware of the problem and advised me with a shrug that there was nothing they could do that night. Basically the unit that regulates the climate in the room was inoperable yet they let out the room, with a "too bad" attitude when questioned about it. It was not a quality experience. read more

I have tried calling numerous times to hotel, no returned calls along with it was at my expense to pay for Dr. Visit and medicine to treat bed bugs along with having to throw away suitcase and dry clean all of my clothes that were in bed bug infested room. read more

Probably the worst hotel I've ever stayed at. We walk into the room and the smell of must was unbelievable. I know a lot of hotels have that smell but this one was outrageous, everything was damp. About 20 minutes after we left, my cousin realized that we forgot her necklace. We knew exactly where it was in the room and were positive that it wasn't in any of our bags. We called back and the woman said she checked for it and it wasn't there. She then proceeded to give us the most aggressive tone while telling us that "this has never happened before"...... like nobody has ever lost anything in their hotel. So we drive back and she lets us go check the room, sure enough it's not there. While we're leaving she asks us if it was expensive, we tell her it's a cheap $20 necklace that's not even real gold. Long story short, we left with no necklace with almost 100% confidence that someone at the hotel took it. They're lucky my cousin told me not to call the cops. read more
