I stayed here for work and I liked it. The rooms were spacious, the place was clean. The staff, small, but they remember you. I think it's that part for me. They remember your face and they were welcoming and nice. They offered breakfast and had a laundry room. I think this was my favorite hotel while visiting the area. read more

Guess, it should've been obvious when we pulled up and the place wasn't full even thought it was graduation weekend. We got news too late ... it don't work. Quick sampling ... Floors not clean. There were multiple insects and bugs in the room, human hair on the bed on towels, and feces on the back of the hand towel. Maybe we just got a bad room...??? Please know this is an old MOTEL updated a few years ago, it is showing some wear and tear (at least in our room). We entered during the night to a dark room, the first lamp we found did not work. The desk in our room was missing 3-4 inch sections of laminate from the front. When we turned on the shower, the lower faucet wiggled an inch in any direction; you could see where they tried to patch the tub around it. In the morning there was a black "sewer fly" sitting on the wet wash cloth we had left resting on the side of the tub. We did LOVE the military appreciation basket in the lobby. You could take a little plastic soldier, to remember to pray for our military service members and veterans. Surprisingly adequate breakfast. It looked like there was nice landscaping in warmer weather. read more

We were on our way to Ephrata, PA for a wedding and needed some place to stay half way there. We had not stayed in a Quality Inn in years and forgot that these are motels and do not have interior rooms. The room was old and had parts of the wallpaper/paint torn off in one spot. This is a perfectly adequate hotel if you're not a snobby stick-in-the-mud that complains about the slightest issue. "Wah, the paint on the door doesn't match in one place! Wah, my air conditioner was louder than desired!" The rooms appear to have been renovated in the past few years. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was clean. The area in general was safe and not a scummy war-zone; there was a Cracker Barrel right across the street for context. All in all, a fine value for your money. Really really friendly staff, but that's about it. I wasn't expecting to spend the night in Christiansburg, but finding ourselves tired with a couple hundred miles left on our trip, we made the last minute decision to book a room for the night. We cycled through the options on Hotels.com, and decided to spend a little more for a better quality room since the reviews on other (cheaper) hotels were really really bad. We settled on the Quality Inn, booked it, and walked in a few minutes later. The young man behind the counter could not have been nicer. I actually made a mistake and booked the room for the following night (who knew Hotels.com wouldn't default to the current day?) and the staff easily changed the booking for us. This is essentially what pushed this review up to two full stars. We had a room that was around the back of the building so we drove to it. The building itself isn't in the best condition, and the rooms were outdated. While the rooms were clean on the surface I was totally creeped out and didn't trust the cleanliness at all and touched as little as possible. They do have a free breakfast in the morning that was nothing special, and we actually chose to have breakfast at the Cracker Barrel that is right next door. read more

For $67 bucks it was fine - the room was clean but very dated. The outside of the building was very worn with exposed and rusting substructure exposed. The front of the bold had no logo or name on it so when I pulled up I was a bit confused. There were 20 people milling around and smoking like crazy. Looked like a half way house for drug addicts. It put me off a bit to way thru - once in side it was a classic C+ level motel lobby. Found out all the people were from a broken down megabus and the hotel was letting them hang out until a new bus showed up. The front wall up area is dirty, cigarette butts on the ground and in a giant plant pot (gross - just feels lazy) and the paint on the ground is chipped and dirty everywhere- entry carpet is disgusting with a worn out logo. The service was good and friendly. The water pressure was non-existence and this was the weirdest shower turn on and off ever (just spun and spun) I slept well - the bed was firm and ok. read more

This place is a mess when it comes to customer service. Check-in was odd to say the least. Desk (Chr*s) set me on edge with his inability to focus and twitchy behavior. The keys issued didn't work we had to go back to have him re-active or "active" them. Then we received phone calls to our room from him at 10:25pm then 10:32pm asking how and who checked us into our room. We let him know both times it was him. After the 2nd call we asked for the manager number and was told that she would not be in till 7am the next day. Due to the inability to focus and twitchy behavior noted earlier we did not sleep the rest of the night. We even tried to call the general chain number to notify them of the oddness of the repeated calls to our room by the front desk. We were hung up on 2x. Up and showered by 5am figure we would wait for the manager to arrive. Thinking if her shift starts at 7am she might arrive before the start of her shift we went to the lobby. We were told by (J*mmy) that the manager (A*hley) was running late and would not be there till 7:30am. Already exhausted from not sleeping we asked for her contact information and was told that they can't give that out. I then asked for them to call her and let me talk with her. Jimmy dialed out on a cell to the manager and said "guest in rm xxx wants to talk to you so you better get on you horse" (what the heck "get on your horse") I then asked again to speak with the manager. The phone was passed to me with no one on the other line. I hit redial to get the manager and she told me that were registered the wrong room she would look into later 8:30am still no call to resolved. Incompetent staff. read more

Not great. Not awful. I was going to stay at the Microtel down the road because it was $30 cheaper, but some of their yelp reviews scared the bejesus out of me. In retrospect, I probably would have gone with Microtel instead of Quality Inn. Don't get me wrong, QI was okay, but not worth the $30 to $40 premium. The scoop: The check in guy was nice and gave us a quiet room close by. He may have been stoned, but I feel bad for the people who aren't stoned that have to work at a hotel in Christiansburg, VA at 2:00 in the morning. The room was a room. Queen bed that was sort of comfortable. Pillows that reminded me of decorative sofa pillows (hard and square). And towels made into neat little sculptures like a shirt and tie or an elephant. Our shower didn't work, but the front desk person let me shower in another room. The breakfast in the AM was pretty worthless, but better than nothing. I had a flavorless waffel, a banana, and some cereal. Next time I'll book the $50 per night Microtel room and roll the dice. read more

We were trekking across the country when our family can broke down, leading us to spend an unexpected night in Christiansburg. We ended up at the Quality Inn and they took great care of us. Adjoining rooms for our big family? No problem. Great breakfast spread? Yessir! Hot chocolate, coffee and cookies as free treats? They provided that too! The Internet worked well too. DO NOT STAY HERE!!! I write this review with mixed emotions. You'll understand by the time you finish reading this. I try to keep it brief but detailed. My daughter and I needed a hotel for the night while we visited several colleges in the area so after reading a couple reviews I figured "it's not too bad." I drove 4hr to realize that in changing my purse I left my wallet with my license & credit card in the "big" purse. So I called and the young lady at the desk was EXTREMELY nice. She allowed me to use my government issued work ID and she allowed my boyfriend to use his credit card over the phone for incidentals. Kudos to her! She's the ONLY reason the hotel got 2 stars! Now for the rest. We go to the room to get settled in before going to dinner. I walk to the sink and there's a huge spider in the sink. I thought it was dead until I turned on the water to wash it down the drain and it moved. Because it was alive I decided to use hot water. So I turned on the hot water and it was BROWN!! Already pissed about the spider and brown water I pull the comforter off the bed to find a stink bug nestled under the covers. So I get moved to a different room that smelled HORRIBLE! I mean HORRIBLE! We immediately went to the store to buy Lysol & Febreeze to get rid of the odor (which was only a temporary fix). If I had my wallet I would have left & if it wasn't freezing outside we would have slept in the car. But bcz we were tired and had no credit cards, I stayed and we slept in our clothes because I was afraid to allow my skin to touch those sheets!! I stayed here with family in July while traveling through Virginia and this was a nice place to get some sleep. The hotel is affordable and the rooms, while old and in need of renovations, were clean and just what we needed after a long day of traveling. We arrived Saturday afternoon, a bit before the 3 pm check in time and the woman at the desk was very nice and contacted the cleaning staff and made sure the room was ready and allowed us to check in early. The room was clean and pretty comfortable. The pillows are a bit on the small side, but not uncomfortable. It's quiet and there's not a lot of noise. The location is very convenient to Blacksburg and to just about anything we have needed. The staff has been in everyday to get the trash and change the towels and linens. They even placed my jacket back on the bed where I had left it after they we finished. The price was very reasonable. Especially if you opt to prepay when you book on their website in advance. You get major discount in doing that. Overall for the price, location, and comfort it is the best deal in the area and I would not hesitate to stay here in the future. read more

Not as bad as other reviewers made it seem. Room felt clean but smelled musty. We brought our dog so we had s room delegated to animals so the experience may have been different if we had not brought the family pet. The bed spread looked outdated and worn out. The bed was not inviting but surprisingly comfortable. Room was dark and quiet but we did run the fan which helps to drown out the noise from the roadway. This is a really good hotel. It's comfortable, clean, and extremely well-maintained. The only gripe I have, the reason I only gave it 4-stars, is that the blanket is way too light. It feels like sheets rather than a blanket. I had to stay warm by keeping the heater on. Anyway, the best thing about this hotel is the cost. It's not dirt cheap like the fleabags, of course, but the price is really very reasonable considering how good it is. read more

We stayed on Oct 11, 2014. The good: The room was relatively clean. The bad: The bed was very hard and uncomfortable. But even worse was the sanitary conditions at breakfast. The old, short lady was using her hands without gloves or tongs to put the pastries from the box onto the breakfast counters. She also used her fingers to transfer the scrambled eggs from the microwave to the buffet line. Then she used those same fingers to touch the bottles of syrup that others touched and she then scratched her nose! Hopefully they will reinforce proper sanitary practices. read more

We arrived last night with our dogs and were welcomed at the Quality Inn. The room is very nice and the bed isn't too soft or too hard. The only thing we'd change is larger pillows, but at least there were four. The breakfast spread was nice (waffles, biscuits, grits, bagels, toast, fruit, etc). The staff was very attentive and made sure everyone was enjoying the breakfast and the area was clean. We really enjoyed our stay and would come again. read more

This hotel is trash the WiFi does not work we checked in a little before and there was beer and it was not clean. I called the lobby one time and they yelled at me when I told them about the WiFi. The clientele are shifty and the grounds are not maintained. My bed spread was not washed. It smelled like men's cologne whereas my mother's smelled fresh. So we had two beds but had to squeeze into one. My towel had hair in it. We slept with the lights and tv on so the shifty clientele that liked to gawk at us would not know what time we went to sleep. This inn two years ago and before used to be really nice and clean with decent people. Will never stay here again. read more

The only complaint I have is that the carpet turned our feet black, but they did not look dirty. They could use a steam clean. Although the people here are very very nice, they offer an awesome breakfast, customer service is amazing and the rooms are generally neat and clean....I wish my job would send us to a more cozier warm environment even with the he heat on high it's still cold in these room because of the cracks in the doors. We just arrived at the Quality Inn in Christiansburg, Va on Hampton Rd and we are very pleased!! I had a feeling I would live this hotel because driving up to it was very appealing. We have stayed at many Quality Inn in the past and this location THE BEST from customer service when we checked in to our room which was clean, fresh smelling, up to date amenities, extremely comfortable bed and I must add the furniture is amazing!! along with a chair that reclines and rock. We are looking forward to a fantastic breakfast which I am told is more than just bagels. Oh and there are fresh cookies for a late night snack. This hotel is a 10 out of 10 read more

I must first say that no this is not a 4 star hotel. I'm sure quality Inn and comfort inn are 2 star hotels and such, however, I highly recommend this place. I purchased my hotel room on Priceline for less than $50 and I would have paid more for what I've gotten. My wife, son and myself were put in a room with 1 king size bed, but it's what else that's in here that is impressive. Unfortunately we are only staying here 1 night because this place has all you could want in a hotel. It is equipped with a mini kitchen that has a two burner stove, microwave, sink and mini fridge. It also features a room safe the tv is a 40 inch HD LG and there is an office area with the ability to hardline your computer to the internet and enough plugs for whatever you have. The area seems to be a safe place and there are several restaurants within a mile and there is a Cracker Barrel in the parking lot. The lobby has a free continental breakfast in the mornings and they serve coffee and hot chocolate all night and fresh baked cookies until 10 pm. I'm very happy with my stay and would certainly recommend it to anyone read more

I'm giving this hotel five stars because of how pet friendly they are. If you are traveling with your dog, this is the place to stay. Very convenient to the interstate, there are rooms on the first floor that open directly towards a grassy area that is just what our pup needed. Only $10 extra, no matter the number of pets. The room was clean, the staff was friendly, breakfast was included as well as cookies and hot chocolate in the evening. read more
