Let's get something straight right off the bat here. I am not one of these travelers that does a drill sergeant inspection with a magnifying glass when I get to the room. I am not looking under the bed because I don't intend on going there. I also am not concerned with the cleanliness behind the bathroom door because I don't plan on spending any time there either. When I see those kind of reviews I wonder if the person keeps their own home as clean as they expect from the motel. Sheesh! This is a small town motel that has been around awhile. It was a Jameson Inn when we first stayed here many years ago and now it's a Quality Inn. It's well kept if a little worn. Overall it's a nice well run motel. The rooms are clean and the bed linens are fresh and clean. The rooms in the back are the best choice for being quiet. US 19 does have a steady flow of traffic out front. It has always been a quiet night of sleep when we have stayed. Staff is friendly and responsive. The breakfast is now more than the continental breakfast with the addition of a diy waffle maker and scrambled egg discs and sausage gravy and biscuits when we stayed. There's still cereal, muffins, instant oatmeal and yogurt if you still want to be "continental". The location is convenient to several well known chain restaurants including a brand new Chick-Fil-A and a Longhorn Steakhouse. There are some local restaurants worth giving a try as well. There's a Walmart close if you forgot any necessities and an Ingles grocery and Walgreens just a little further. read more

Quality Inn - Home for the night. - Hotels Near Me - Thomaston, Georgia

We've been staying here for years when we come to town because we have family in the area. It's Thomaston. So it's not going to be the nicest, fanciest hotel. Keeping that in mind, the room was adequate as we hardly spend time in the room, just to sleep and shower. Things were a bit rundown, but the sheets were clean. The bathroom was clean. The rug seemed a bit soiled, mostly from being old. I didn't have any major complaints. Also, the price was okay. We got the government rate $102 per night for a king bed. The continental breakfast consistent of fruit, yogurt, muffins and waffles. I'm a diabetic. So I couldn't really eat any of it. Some boiled eggs would have been great for protein. read more

I was absolutely terrified after reading these reviews, but after riding through Thomaston, since we had to stay local, this seemed like the nicest hotel in the area. The owners were actually very nice and our room was cleaned properly daily! My son has a little shape sorter toy and housekeeping found one of the little stars up under the bed when they were doing a daily clean and left it for us on the nightstand. I never would've looked under the bed, but I was pleasantly surprised that they were that thorough. The location is great and close to anything you could want to do in the area. It's definitely not the nicest hotel I've ever stayed in, but it's reasonable and to be expected for the price point! If you needed somewhere to stay just for a few nights while in town, I'd stay again! read more

I booked this hotel for one night as it had the highest reviews from the results of a quick google search. I obviously should have driven a little further or searched a little harder! First impression when I pulled into the parking lot towing a 12 ft' trailer, zero parking for anything longer than a regular-ish sized vehicle; My bust number 1. Again, I should have checked a little harder, but my room was a smoking room, I felt as if I were sleeping at the bottom of a forty year old ash tray that had never been cleaned; My bust number 2 Luckily, I only needed to sleep and didn't plan on any extended time in the room. I attempt to rip some toilet paper off the roll to do a little nose-blowing and the mere pressure from the TP perforations and me pulling on that one square, was enough to rip the TP dispenser out of the wall and onto my foot! In retrospect, I probably should have used the tissues on the counter. After I got done laughing my face off, I gently placed the dispenser back into the wall. The carpet was filthy and the paint was disgusting and splotchy. Ready for a hot shower, not expecting much, because of all the cigarette burns atop the side of the tub. I was pleasantly surprised to find the best water pressure and temperature I've ever felt in a hotel room (This is the ONLY reason that this review is not a 1-star)! There are not a lot of options in Thomaston and I am sure this is probably the lesser of evils. First of all, when using the website we were told that the hotel was near capacity and there was only one nonsmoking suite left. We quickly booked the room and when we arrived we were a bit disappointed that it faced the very noisy highway, but thinking we got the last available, we did not complain. However, the hotel was no where near full, in fact there were only a few other cars there during our entire stay. I was traveling with my mother and my 2 kids and my nephew. The kids are between 11 and 6. When booking the double bed room it said we exceeded the maximum occupancy for the room, but I new I was upgrading to the suite with the pull out couch so I did not worry about that. Well, as I checked out even after adding the suite it said we still exceeded the maximum occupancy for the room. I just removed my 6 year old from the list and booked. How can a 2 queen bed room have a maximum occupancy of 4, then you add the suite with a whole nother bathroom and a king pullout, but the maximum occupancy is still 4? Doesn't make sense. Especially since the suite is not a larger room with sitting area, it is actually an adjoining room that has been set up as a living room. I will be emailing choice hotels to see is this is just an oversight on their part, I certainly hope it is not an attempt to force people to book 2 rooms instead of just the suite. Now, the room, we booked a hotel even though we have plenty of family in town because my daughter is HIGHLY allergic to cats and cigarette smoke. Imagine how upsetting it was to enter the clearly marked non smoking room only to immediately smell the strong smell of cigarette smoke. It was overwhelming. I immediately turned on the air conditioning to see if maybe it would help. Remember, I thought we were getting the last suite available, so I did not ask for a different room. I tried to convince myself that I was just sensitive to the smell and that someone probably didn't smoke in the room, but maybe a smoker had stayed in the room and brought the smell in on their belongings or something. Upon entering the suite it became clear that it was more likely that people had smoked in the living area. The smell was strong in there and the furniture had cigarette burns. The couch smelled so strongly that we bought a plastic mattress cover just so we could sit on it. As if that was not disappointing enough, the rooms had holes worn in the carpet and the updating that had been done was poorly executed. The faucets on the sinks were loose and not installed properly, the toilets were loose and the toilet seats were not attached well. Tge faucet in our tub was leaking constantly, well not really leaking, it was a steady stream of running water and no way to stop it unless you stood there pressing the knob in as hard as you could. We informed the front desk, but it was still leaking on day 2. It was like some sort of torture. Running water on one side and speeding traffic on the other. We just left the TV on the whole time. There was a chair in the bedroom that was absolutely filthy. I mean, it just looked disgusting. I would rather have no chair at all than one that looked like it had been mistaken for the toilet more than once. I picked up so many dead bugs of varying kinds that I lost track. Whatever. At least they were dead. I felt like the room was fairly clean, but then noticed that it was clearly not vacuumed at all. Toe nail clippings littered the floor even though we had not been clipping toenails. A hair brush from a previous guest was on the floor beside the bed and filthy chair. The bed spreads were stained, but sheets felt and looked very clean. If you have made it this far you may be wondering why I gave this place 2 stars. Well the employees here were beyond nice and seemed to be hard working. The breakfast was nice enough and although some items needed restocking, they were happy to see if there was more. I really hope Quality Inn can see that this property needs some attention. If this had been the first Quality Inn I had stayed at, it would certainly be my last. They have owned this property for 5 years and have done little to improve or even maintain the guest rooms. read more

This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed. The room was filthy dirty. The doors were so bad they couldn't be cleaned. Manager said it has to be painted. The carpet is so dirty my feet were black after just walking around the room. No phone, no clock. read more
