You can tell by the enormous shop that has everything from key chains to massive safes, and you can tell by the fact that they have several branches of the business including what I like to call the "oh shit I locked myself out" service. They do the whole lot - cars, keyless entry, padlocks, home automation systems, you name it. I really can't imagine why you'd go anywhere else for your security requirements. They're also nice blokes who (in my experience) don't act like sleazy tradies. It's sad but true that a lot of the traditionally "male" industries are still badly behaved but not so here.

If you wanted to buy a lock then the place immediately gets more interesting - they've got shelves and shelves of all different kinds of locks, far more than I can ever imagine using. But I assume for people who need these things, the difference between deadbolt A and deadbolt B is hugely critical.

Armstrong was engaged by AA to assist us when our only car key was stolen. We advised AA it was…read moreurgent because we were stranded with an 11 month old baby. AA advised Armstrong would be there in 15-60 minutes. They arrived after about 80 minutes. When the locksmith arrived, he got to work without delay, however he never really spoke to us. We waited near the car with our 11 month old baby for TWO HOURS while the locksmith continued trying to create a replacement key. At no stage did the locksmith bother to tell us it would take hours, or we would have found another way to get our daughter home right away. After more than 2 hours, we asked what was happening and the locksmith said it would be another half hour. At this stage, we got our daughter home in an Uber. After another hour the locksmith said he didn't know how to create a replacement key. We got another locksmith out the next day who explained it would take a few hours and that we didn't need to be there. They created the replacement key without any fuss. We have now had to phone and ask Armstrong for their invoice 3 times ($180 for the call-out!) so we can submit it with an insurance claim. They keep promising to send the invoice but have failed to do so.

However when I needed to get two pair of boots fixed, I made the journey to come here as I knew I wasn't going to be charged an arm and a leg, also I would be happy with the result. The key they used to take the pattern from, is the key used on a daily basis and is a mister mint band and has never failed. On returning the key to mister mint I was informed I could sell me another at a cost of $80.00. The operator was very unhelpful almost to the point of being rude.
