I asked to talk with the lady who i spoke with, and i had to ask him 4 times before he gave me her number. Anyhooo this location is running a scam. Prices shouldnt be different, prices should be honored. This location needs some attention around customer service and not lying to customers. The second time, my things were dragged outside by the thieves and left out in the rain. The storage managers moved them into another unit. I had to pay for new boxes to rebox everything and throw away things that were damaged by the rain. A mattress was soaked by rain and ruined. I was informed that there is no dumpster on site and forced to put the wet mattress back into the unit. After the second time that they unit was broken into by cutting through the lock supplied by management, I was given a heavy duty lock usually reserved for lock outs for people that haven't paid their bills. My things were stored in this unit for three years. When I removed them recently, I found that much of what I had stored had to be thrown away . 1) These units are not climate controlled. It is my fault for not thinking about how the elements would affect what was in the unit. Wrap everything that you own in plastic/vacuum seal it if possible. Everything in the unit had mold on it. I was able to salvage what could be washed. Everything else had to be thrown away. Pictures, appliances, furniture. All thrown away. 2) Everything in the unit smelled heavily of gasoline/fuel. It permeated anything that was porous. Fabric, paper, furniture. Everything smells like gasoline. It cannot just be aired out. It all required heavy cleaning. The cost of storing items in these storage units will not be worth it when you have to throw most of if it due to mold and gasoline smell.

Upon arriving at the facility the elevator was not functional. Movers had to wait in the clock for over an hour to get someone on the phone to assist. Assistance led to no help. Elevator is still not functional on Oct 1st. Half of the move is on the elevator 2 days later. I am out $000's on movers that couldn't do what they were paid to do. Still have a broken elevator full of stuff waiting to get to the unit. Have not received any assistance from management and no offers to help resolve the situation.

He built the storage units at MPLS Storage himself (it's family-owned and operated). He showed me the 12ft walls, and how they can't be scaled by anything short of a full-sized ladder (ESS has 8-foot walls that can be cleared with a lawn chair). Tenants are admitted to their units by appointment only, which means no strangers following another customer through an unlocked door like at ESS. Most importantly, he listened. He heard my concerns and addressed them immediately. He's a human being who wants to help others store their belongings safely and securely, and he's the opposite of the experience I had at ESS. If you need to store stuff and don't mind making appointments, store your stuff at MPLS. You won't regret it.
