Robert, Max, and Dewayne were a great crew. They arrived on time, and they hustled. We mostly used them for furniture and a few smaller items, and the cold didn't deter them. Minneapolis moving services are some of the most expensive anywhere I've experienced. I hope that simply means that MN companies pay their labor well. We paid $1365 + $180 tip (optional, but come on) for a 3-man crew at $260/hr (2-hour minimum), and we obviously also provided snacks and drinks (they declined breakfast). For comparison, in San Francisco it was $250/hr for 5 men. The rate was with both the weekday discount and winter pricing. Weekend would have been $285/hr for 3 men, and $345 for 4 men. There was no trip fee. Robert, in particular was incredible; he moved a 6 drawer dresser down a tight stairwell alone. They needed to remove the front door at one point, but did so without issue. They also were happy to use our own furniture pads and plastic wrap (leftover from a cross-country move). At one point, they had to back the huge truck through the alley on icy ground, and had no problems. Also, it was easy to provide them inventory by email, and easy to reach them by phone. Lots of moving companies were annoying to contact, which is partly why we chose this one. One a few minor issues: one piece of furniture was shedding pieces of wood. I think they were reinforcements put on by previous owners. I didn't even know they were there, and it doesn't seem to have affected the furniture. They also forgot a couple of items in the yard, including a big smoker we had to move on our own. It's partly my fault, I told them we were good to go. Also, we were made to sign a lot of paperwork, and at various points it was for things like "you confirm that nothing is broken and everything has arrived" and, like, it's weeks later and I'm still unpacking, there is no way I would have known for sure. It's fine, because so far we have had no issues, but if someone did have issues it might feel like being strong-armed via contract. The guys in the truck were just doing their jobs, so it's the process that is problematic more than anything. We would use these guys again! read more

Pros: contact person gave great communication and explained process. Gave estimate of cost window upfront so was not surprised. Able to make educated decisions. On the day the drivers called ahead to say they were coming. Because they have 3 people they were able to move pretty quickly and get the move done within the window promised. Cons: After returning to the other apartment after the truck left, found that there were items they forgot to take. A table was left in the lobby and items in the kitchen forgotten. The cleaning lady when she came the next day found one of the moving mats that was left behind. I did leave a message for the main guy who contacted me the day before but he didn't return my message. Furthermore when I went unpacking several of my dishes were broken. read more

Just completed a move with The Move Crew, and I could not be happier. The crew showed up on-time, was fully staffed, and there was no dilly-dallying around. The foreman immediately identified a game plan following a tour of my home, and the efficient crew had two trucks packed up and ready to go in quick fashion. Upon completion of the move, there were no issues with any of my items, and I left the process thinking the transition could not have gone any better. On price, they charge a straight hourly fee based on workers and trucks, and they do their best to estimate needed time given your list of items. Importantly, they also have full coverage insurance if something were to go wrong. Bottom line, avoid the horror stories you hear about other companies and go with this crew. I'll definitely be returning when we transition from our temporary apartment to a new home. read more

Gus was great to work with over the phone setting up the move and Bob and his crew did a great job moving our belongings. The three guys were friendly and worked well together. I booked The Move Crew for a 7:30 am move on October 2. They arrived promptly and got right to work. I was moving from a 3rd floor walk up, so lots of stairs, but Sam, Pete, and Josh had me out of my old apartment by 9 am. They were super efficient and fast while still taking good care of my items. The new place is on the first floor, so no real steps, but it has some narrow doorways and odd angles. Not a problem for these guys. All in all my move took a little less than three hours which made it significantly lower in cost than I'd anticipated. This is my second time using The Move Crew and I would definitely use them again. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for movers. read more

I was moving furniture from my parents home. They have passed and their home of 50 years has been sold. The Move Crew called to let me know they'd be a little early, which was a plus. A coworker was late to work and my manager was texting. They were friendly. We discussed the cousins moving their grandparents out of their home of 60 years. They made me comfortable. It was like my sons and their friends moving me...except The Move Crew was professional, responsible, and ALL my belongings got to the destination. My mom always said you get what you pay for... They had everything moved to our storage unit in under the time they estimated and helped so much with knowing best unit size to get when it was decided we needed larger at the last minute. These guys are great! Only downside was they said they would have preferred if our lamps/artwork had been in boxes. Lazy, overpriced and careless. 3 guys showed up, but only 2 of them were working at any time, including the "boss". I saw all 3 of them just standing around, checking their phones, doing nothing, or slow rolling their shit, asking a million questions that had already been answered, and generally doing anything they could to waste time and jack their billable hours up. I've moved cross country multiple times and I'm not an idiot, I know what efficient and honest moving looks like, and this wasn't it. I ended up having to jump in and help just to get the shit over with. And it still cost hundreds more than it should have. Meanwhile they broke 2 of our items and only even offered to fix one. What they didn't know is I heard one of them break the item they didn't fix - he hit it on a corner on the way out - and he didn't even have the integrity to tell the boss, and apparently the boss didn't ask. I let it slide as I was just tired of their lame asses and wanted them gone. Suffice to say I'll never use these losers again, and will be damned sure no one else I know does either. read more

Gunnar, who did the in home evaluation, answered all of our questions and gave an accurate estimate. The movers kept to the proposed schedule, were prompt, kept me in the loop with timing, and packed and unloaded quickly and thoughtfully. Listen, I've been to great restaurants, I like my dry cleaner, our vet is great, but nothing has compelled me more than my experience with the Move Crew to write a review. I've moved way too many times, and experienced all the different kinds of professional movers you can hire, ranging from meh to horrible. Then we hired the Move Crew. They packed and moved our whole home and were so kind and professional on what is normally such a stressful day. Not a single thing broke! And they did the move WAY faster than I was expecting, so they also came in under their cost estimate. HOW!? Great service from the Move Crew and during a snowstorm no less. The crew was professional, clean, and took great care of our things. They moved us from a downtown condo to a house in the suburbs in a little over half a day. They were supposed to have three crew members on the job, but do to unforeseen circumstances only two crew members showed up. They addressed the change immediately and also lowered the hourly rate because of the change. I felt their pricing to be reasonable (there were no hidden fees or unanticipated costs). I used the Move Crew to move my 1-bedroom apartment from Bloomington to Columbia Heights. It was a mostly good experience. Pros-got back to me quickly with an estimate; good communication from the office and the crew on moving day; crew was on time and worked quickly; fun guys, pleasant and did their best to make it an easy experience for me; they were extremely courteous and pleasant to folks at the drop esp. considering they had to park and unload in a less-than-ideal place. Cons-forgot to move an area rug (and I didn't notice and I ended up forfeiting it since I couldn't move it myself;) piled bags of clothing and bedding in the closet to the point where I can't get the bi-fold doors open; shrink-wrapped 2 pieces of furniture but left wrapping on one and unwrapped other but left pieces of plastic sticking out at the bottom. I'm older and disabled and taking care of these tasks will be difficult; took extra pillows and cushions off chairs and left them on the floor, had to pack and move them myself. So, overall, the big stuff that mattered most (timely and easy to deal with, as well as coming in at the lowish end of their estimate) was done well. I was really looking forward to using the move crew, they have great reviews on google and yelp so I thought it'd go great. They were disappointingly slow, it took 10.5 hours to move a three bedroom townhouse (we packed maybe 25%, they did the rest) literally 1.5 miles. I understand wanting to be careful but that's the most disappointing part, I now have scuffed up walls in my new construction home from them bringing boxes and furniture up the stairs. I was told I'd get a follow up call about the damage but two days later I haven't gotten a call to even let me know what they plan to do. read more

You get what you pay for, is the saying, and for a bit more we expected things to go well, and it did. Definitely worth the peace of mind that everthing was going to go smoothly. The move consisted of a delivery to Goodwill and furniture consignment shop. The movers were great. If you're looking for an interstate moving company, you know how hard it is to a) find one with good reviews b) find a professional company with good response time and c) find one that won't move your boxes between trucks several times and give you a confirmed move-in date. I came across the Move Crew after getting bogus and rude quotes from New York moving companies and national firms. Riku, Sam, and Chris showed up right on time to our Manhattan apartment even though they weren't experts on New York traffic. They diligently protected all of our furniture. Four days later our furniture and boxes were quickly moved into our condo in Minneapolis. I just finished unpacking everything and nothing broke or was scratched. My husband has moved 17 times in his life and over half of those were international moves. He said the Move Crew were the best movers he has ever had. read more

I only had 2 weeks notice to move across states, and not only was the Move Crew the ONLY service I found (after many many quotes) who would move my items directly, they were also the best rated and most reasonably priced. We used The Move Crew for a small out-of-state move from Minneapolis to Chicago at the end of Dec 2021. Overall great experience! Riku was the person who came to survey the items and gave us the quote. There was some back and forth via email with questions. He always responded and answered all of them politely. The actual crew who came to move included 3 people (their names are escaping me otherwise I'd like to give them shout-outs). They did a great job and were very efficient. An item that was not supposed to go to Chicago accidentally got wrapped and put on the truck. We emailed about this before the truck was supposed to leave and Riku hand-delivered the item. We absolutely loved our experience with The Move Crew for our move from our old North Loop apartment to our new house in St Louis Park! These guys were on time, professional, communicative, took great care of our belongings, clean, and worked hard/efficiently. While the move took longer than the quote due to some logistical roadblocks with our apartment building (at no fault of The Move Crew), their pricing is straightforward and better than almost all of the other 5-6 moving companies I called. During the move into our new home, one of the guys let me know that they nicked the wall near the staircase so we can file a damage report and someone will come out and fix it or we could get reimbursement to do it ourselves.
