    Southwest's worker dropped a tile in my brand new bathtub, taking a big chunk out down to the fiber…read moreof the fiberglass. The owner refused to replace the tub, just had a very unreliable guy come and spray it with a coating. Mind you, this was a Kohler bathtub with a limited lifetime warranty on the finish, and it was voided by repairing it. Why not just take responsibility and replace it? It was only $1250 plus a couple of boxes of tile. The worker also installed the wrong floor tile (glossy, not matte as ordered originally). The morning of the floor tile install, I asked the worked to wait and not install the tile, so I could phone the owner and discuss the discrepancy in product. By the time the owner got back to me, the tile was on the floor, glued down and was being grouted. As I seethed at the end of the day, the owner showed up and verified that it was indeed the wrong tile (and heavily scratched from grunge on the worker's boots). The tile was torn out the next day, putting another ding in the fiberglass of the bathtub, this time on the edge, so here we went with yet anther bathtub repair. I did offer a blanket to cover the outer edge of the tub as the incorrect tile was being torn out. The owner said the worker would use plastic sheeting; he did, and it was very thin and ineffective to protect much of anything. The worker also replaced our old baseboard with mismatched baseboard. Not bad at a glance, but still unprofessional. If HD or Lowe's didn't have it, we would've waited to order to get the right one. Many other issues I won't mention, the biggest one being the final payment and job signoff. I did NOT want to sign that the job was satisfactory, but the office lady threatened me with a lien on my property. Just know that even if you pay for the entire job, you're not allowed to say that anything's wrong. You have to sign and say that's it's all right. That in and of itself is unethical. So, I signed while under duress (after almost two years of dealing with them). Not recommended. Southwest's owner, Ryan, acts concerned but goes on vacation a lot and won't do the right thing.

    I received a phone call my cousin (who looks after our second home) who gave us the bad news that…read moreour water heater had burst and had flooded nearly the entire house for about 2 weeks. It was awful. After I hung up with her, the first company that I thought of was Servpro ("Like it never even happened"). The main number patched us into Servpro of Venice, and literally within 2 hours I had a team of workers swarming the house , drying it up and salvaging everything that could be salvaged. Paul Maggio, the owner of Servpro of Venice, kept me posted every step of the way. I was absolutely impressed by their professionalism, their work ethic, their speedy service, the care that they took to protect every little item in the house. The other side of the house that was not impacted was sealed off from the flooded side with zippered plastic barrier. They took a detailed inventory that helped me when reviewing my insurance adjuster's statement. And to think that I did this remotely (as I do not live locally), using Paul as my main point person. I could not be happier with Paul and his company's work. I recommend Servpro of Venice without any reservation whatsoever. Now I understand why Servpro says "Like it never even happened". I feel blessed and very lucky to have met Paul and his team.
