The Pros of this hotel is the staff is friendly, but the communication between staff members is terrible. Cons: the list is long, so buckle up. **look at pictures*** 1.) Most of the safety latches in the rooms are broken. We had to request to be switched because our young children can open the door without the safety latch enabled. 2.) Absolutely NO towels in our room. We were preoccupied with our kids to double check that we had towels in our room. I quickly went up to the front desk to get some.... They had only ONE towel, ONE pool towel, and one wash cloth... that's it. 3.) The water pressure was non-existent. It barely was able to trickle out. 4.) There were a couple dead cockroaches in our room, now, I am happy they were dead and not alive, however, if the room was being maintained... these should have been vacuumed. 5.) No Wi-Fi for the tv. 6.) The pool itself looked very unkept, and the water was a dingy color. 7.) Breakfast was a joke. We walked downstairs, early I might add to make sure our kids ate. There was no paper plates, when we did ask for some it took 5+ minutes just to get plates. The sausage and eggs were completely empty. As was the coffee. 8.) The phone in our room did not work, nor did some of the lights and the batteries of the remote were dead. After all this nonsense we requested to check out early and a refund. Again, the staff was pleasant, and willing to try to make our stay better. She offered to show me other rooms, and to help get us to stay again, she said the manger would wave the second night. We looked at rooms together. The first room the safety latch was missing. The second room had multiple belly up cockroaches still moving. And the third room had a HUGE hole behind the door where the door handle sits. I knew my young children would mess with the hole. So I said no, it's okay, we will just go somewhere else. She showed me one other room. And I just said it was fine. No bugs, water pressure was fine. They switched the TVs because the other one wasn't working correctly. We arrive late that evening to our room. There are just so many holes, rust and ripped blankets. The toilet would not flush, lucky my husband being a handy man, looked and the water was shut off on the toilet. The handle to our bathroom was broken, shower current ripped. Metal door frame rusting to the point the paint was falling off. When we went to check out the manager/the person checking us out says, she didn't even know we were staying in that room. She thought it was empty and we had been checked out yesterday. She states she would have to charge us, again, even though Expedia already charged us for our two days. I was confused seeing as we were told we wouldn't be charged. She said there was a miscommunication, but not to worry and to contact Expedia for our refund. We are waiting to see if we actually get a refund. Moral of the story, if you stuck around. Although it seems affordable, I highly recommend staying somewhere else. I went back to look if I missed something in the pictures when I booked, and nope. They are just all angled to show flattering images, or things are no long like that. read more

I drove to New Orleans for a book signing from Ontario Canada. I was hesitant to book this hotel as it was 2 hours outside of New Orleans...boy, am I glad I did. I can't say enough good things about this hotel. The manager, Erica, was on duty when I checked in Thursday night. She was so friendly and my check in was so easy. After two long days of driving, she really made me feel welcome. This was my favorite hotel ever. The room was a fraction of the cost of the hotels in New Orleans and so comfy. The king suite was HUGE! I loved the tv here. I don't know who their cable company is, but every time you changed a channel, there was a bar at the bottom telling you what show was on. The king bed was soft and comfy. I slept so well! There was a coffee table and couch in the next space, huge bathroom and a desk. I stayed 5 nights and couldn't have been more comfortable. I was going to stay in Slidell and saved $300 staying here. So glad I did. Hot breakfast was different each day but there was a rotation of eggs, bacon, sausage. I'm gluten free and there was always something for me. Lots of danish and cereal options too. I had blueberry yogurt every day. I am a coffee junkie and was supplied every extra coffee pod I needed. The coffee was wonderful too. Best in-room coffee I ever had. There was a microwave and fridge. I always stock my own organic cream and had red beans and rice to warm up, so it was so convenient. Besides the microwave, fridge, hair dryer and in-room coffee maker...must haves...they also had my other...charging for electronics right by the bed. This hotel is my all time favorite! The bathroom was clean. Yes, there were reviews that said they found a hair in the bathroom. Do you ever clean yours and not leave one behind? I found one, but a kleenex swept it away and it didn't bother me in the least. The rest of the room was super clean...honestly, what is one hair? This hotel had a washer and dryer, pool and hot tub. I went down around 8PM and there was no one there. The hot tub put me right to sleep. A/C in the room was fabulous and kept me cool. The 2-hour drive to NOLA was peaceful and traffic free for 95%. I was also just an hour and a bit from Baton Rouge, so I got to see that city as well. There is a Walmart, plenty of gas stations and restaurants nearby. Ruby Tuesday and Waffle House in walking distance. The staff was always friendly. I came in from Mardis Gras and shared my beads with the clerk.Staying here and saving money plus the perfect room and staff made this a great hotel to stay at...for Mardi Gras and beyond. My husband and I were charged for a night we did not book. we have called numerous times to speak with the manager that seems to be always busy or not there. we have been told we will get a call back and they never do. so basically the manager is refusing to speak with us deal with the situation. read more

This place gets no stars. We rented a room and an hour later someone walked in the room while my fiance and I were naked having sex. This was awful. We requested a refund and received it, but had to leave and this ruined our night. Someone saw me naked!! Another guy! A strange guy! read more

This hotel basically stole money from me. I booked for one night but the person taking the booking booked two nights. When I showed up for my night I was told I was charged a no show fee ( which is the price of the room apparently). Then I was told it was fixed at the desk when I checked in. I had to call my bank to have the charge reversed but then this hotel sent a form showing a booking I never made so they got the money from my bank again. I attempted for three weeks to talk to a manager who refused to talk to me and was apparently to busy to take my call. Then once I finally spoke to someone, I was given the run around on getting my money back till I just didn't want to deal with it anymore. Hotel from hell, I would not stay there again, even if I was paid to stay there The manager here should set the example, instead she (Brandi) can't handle the position she has and can't run a hotel and needs to be fired or demoted, she should not be in the hospitality industry, they need to keep far away from the public, she is running off the customers. I will explain the most terrible hotel stay in my life, and I'm a Choice elite diamond member, I stayed at 100's of Choice branded hotels. The condition of the hotel is deferred maintenance, and is in patched up condition for a Choice hotel it needs much updating from the outside the parking slots and bumpers need paint along with the rust and faded paint on the building and overgrowth and marque sign not lit at night and no parking lot lighting and with a closed Ruby Tuesday in the front of the location it looks closed at night. The condition of the rooms is dated and needs much updating, rusty fixtures leaky faucets, tub peeling, mold, drain slowly drains, toilet shakes and don't flush good, no shower curtain, just some light cloth fabric, nothing waterproof. The room had stains all over the carpet and had pubic hairs and many spider webs and stains on comforter, love seat sofa bed smelled like someone like soiled worked all day rained on dog. The A/C kept going off and had to keep resetting it to work, light fixtures are over 15 years old and missing hardware and plugs are loose, remote control to T/V when you turn the channel the sound went up and down at the same time, so I had to walk up to the T/V to control both. The curtains had a 12 inch gap between it and the A/C, allowing unfiltered Bright Sun to shine in your eyes with the curtains closed. Please also be on notice that this hotel does not have concrete floors, just wooden floors as we had to find out and the smell of weed lingering all over the place, in the halls coming from the rooms and coming into the room and outside as well, I guess almost everyone but me smoked but me and we wee in nonsmoking, also be aware that police presence was in the parking lot a few times and the room phones don't work as well. Along with every excuse for the pool being closed and when you ask room service for more towels they say they have to wash them first after you give them the dirty ones, they will be back later for new ones to replace them, I guess the only good thing was the bed, it was comfortable.and the price was reasonable per night, so I was willing to overlook some of this, well if that was not enough...this is not even the worst part yet. I never write bad reviews, and never this detailed, but I just don't want another customer to experience what my family had to experience. The first night with all this we dealt with, the next night we heard sounds of stomping above us that sounded like cattle moving across the west, and noisy hallway, like a barroom, and mind you this is at 3am, I looked out the door and it was parents with and some without the kids, I say between 8-12 years of age, just acting like it was a pony corral, drinking beer and talking loudly like it was noon, I say they were all spread out all over the check in area, outside and they took over the meeting rooms until 5am, I called the front desk several times, and the noise and stomping above us got worse. First ting in the mourning with no sleep I went to the front desk and explained it to the Manager Brandi, and she said she got all kinds of complaints and she did not take ownership, she did offer us a free night and than took it back because we used some points ans later said the owner of the hotel will not allow her to comp a free night and the best she can do is 50% off and we also had to move because she is expecting a guest that comes every year for the past 4 years and stays in the same room and we had to relocate, and mind you we were checking out that day and the only reason we did not was because I did not get any sleep. I've had problems from the time I checked into Quality Inn In New Iberia La Location. I was charged 81.08 before checking in. When checking in she wanted to charge another 130 to my card! That was not charged to my card neither was the 50 deposit! Looking at my statement this morning I have two more pending transactions of 81.08 making it a total of 243.24. Now Ms. Brandy stated that her GM smelled marijuana inside the room and charged another 125 to my card! Making that a total of 368.24. I will be contacting corporate about this matter. So quick to take but it's a process when you have to return! I had to cancel my card being that they were being charge Crazy! I would never come back or recommend anyone to stay! read more

I stayed at this Hotel in May 2017 and got hurt. The hotel did nothing to help me and to this day has not done anything. I had to go to URGENT care and not one person from Quality Suites has reached out on their own to offer any assistance. This is the WORST hotel that you can stay at. Also the room had bugs and everyday I had to kill them as they crawled across the bed at night. I urge everyone to please avoid this hotel at all cost. It's not worth it, it's dirty, bugs and a health hazard. read more

I had originally had my reservation with La Quinta, but had some issues with getting two suites not being cleaned, so decided, based on the website, to try them. I didn't get a "Suite". I got a room with two queen beds and a pull out sofa. The lobby smelled, the pool was small and the water not cleaned. The pool area was stifling and smelled like a fish market. The adults never went down to swim. Now, I ended up registering my nieces and nephew the same day, although my reservation was for my sister, my son, and I, but they had wanted to swim with my son and couldn't because of liability, which is understandable. I was not told there would be extra costs for this. On my third day there, I was called by a woman, I hadn't seen before and told that I would be charged $60 additional dollars for adding them. This was never disclosed and Brandy had never even gotten a credit card number for incidentals. I asked to speak to the manager, as I had another night stay and was deciding if I would stay or not. The owner came down and I explained this to him. He was extremely rude and condescending. He told me that the double sofa bed was not for sleeping, but for sitting. I explained to them how the previous evening person was rude to my children. The kids had been in the nasty pool, and got out . She got mad bc they had gotten the floor wet and dropped water and was extremely rude to them. She was also the same when the time to close the pool came. I told the manager I believe this was entered in after that, as we had not contacts from front desk prior, since check-in about the "incidental cost" for the kids. I was told by the manager to contact Expedia and request a refund, as we checked out at that moment with a full night left. Also, the desk chair was shedding leather in the room, we had to fight for towels and was told by housekeeping we could only get new ones if we were exchanging the old ones. We had four bath towels and 2 adults and four kids. The orange juice and apple juice were watery at breakfast and there weren't great choices. The housekeepers were gossiping about other employees and how if it was their job or another person's, they would fight for their job. The WiFi didn't work in the room and would t even show on the devices. When we mentioned it, nothing was done about it. The room was overall clean and nice sized, but that was the only good thing about our stay there. I contacted Expedia and they are working on my refund. I will never stay there again and I am also contacting Choice directly. I would have rather waited for the La Quinta to find me a clean room, at least she was truly empathetic and wanted to resolve our issues. read more

This was by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. I checked in on Saturday 12/22/2018 the front desk attendant was acting as if she owned the hotel watching our every move as if she was suspicious of me and my family doing something wrong. Instead of watching us she should have been changing the stained sheets and mattress that was in the room we stayed in (very unacceptable for a hotel) I would not recommend no one stay at this hotel.... read more
