In waiting for a friend to have lunch at Leon's, I took the opportunity to do a bit of browsing, and came out with several pieces of clothing! Loved the vibes of this place. The cashiers/workers are super nice and just very friendly. There are various items from which to choose - from clothing, to candles, to jewelry - all quite unique. I saw several items that would make perfect Christmas gifts for some family members and plan to go back when I have time to peruse the entire selection of merchandise. I am a fan! read more

WHAT A STORE! I have been shopping at Quarter Moon for over twenty years and continue to be impressed with how it continues to get better. This year when I was home for the holidays I stopped in and did a lot of my Christmas shopping. I found perfect gifts for several of my friends - Blue Q socks, kitchenwares, magnets and jewelry. I also picked up some amazing cards. They have amazing cards for every situation - birthday, thanks, fighting cancer, they are all clever - and I will buy more cards for all future occasions. The items are a bit pricier than what you'd normally find because most of the products are hand-crafted and/or fair trade, but if you're looking for a fun niche item this is the first place I'd look. I saw at least 5 items that I knew would be the perfect gift for one of my family or friends. Okay folks, you're going to hear this review from a man's perspective. Believe it or not, I'm a huge fan of Quarter Moon! Granted, whenever I visit the little boutique shop, it's not for personal gain. Usually, I'm with my girlfriend or shopping for my girlfriend. However, Quarter Moon offers quality clothes, ornamental décor and gratuitous trinkets that are very appealing to the eye. The staff has always treated me kindly. They've assisted me before in picking out the proper size dress for my girlfriend. In turn, my girlfriend bought me an awesome notepad/journal that I use nearly every day. Stay positive guys, there's something for you at Quarter Moon, too. I promise! Furthermore, Quarter Moon sits about 100 yards from Lake Ella. LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS STORE! My niece took me here when I was visiting her for her graduation. If you love to shop at cool funky stores that have a little of everything the Quarter Moon is the place. They have everything from clothes, to candles, jewelry, incense and so much more. A very eclectic place. They have a 20% off coupon for one purse or wallet with a yelp check in and I took advantage of that by buying a hand made purse and sugar skull wallet. ALL of the jewelry is unique but some of the stuff can be a bit pricy in this store but the items are mostly all hand made or from recyclable items. read more

Big BIG fan of Quarter Moon. Valentine's Day / Anniversary Day gifts? - This is the place. (at least, for me, for years now!) For my wife and daughters - this is a go-to destination for me. Great inventory that I couldn't find anywhere else in town. Frankly, I wouldn't have thought of buying anything here until I realized it existed when I visited here. Case in point, the line of Guatemalan Firefly jewelry. Wife loves colorful/festive themes and this jewelry is portable artwork - made from Austrian crystals and Czech glass beads by (I imagine) Guatemalteco artisans. But wait, there's more! - You've seen those cool steel-drum works of art? - They have them here. It's senseless for me to go through the categories, but from the top of my head, they are: neato-keen stationary, light-catchers, door beads, leather stuff, dresses/skirts, those nifty socks that teen (and pre-teen) girls wear, etc. Quarter Moon. Since the first time I visited last month, I was pleased by the cleanliness of the store and the friendliness of the staff, who wear masks (but don't ask you to). Similar to Stone Age up the street, this place has good vibes and crystals, but on a smaller and homier scale. Things are decently priced, about average on the retail scale. There's such a great variety of boho clothing, jewelry, knickknacks, cards, tea towels, and fun gifts for that friend that can be hard to shop for. They sell tarot cards AND wooden tarot card boxes! They even have different sized gift bags for your presents! The store is well kept and well organized, and everything is easy to see and access. I especially love their Indian pattern sheet/blankets, which range in size from twin to king. In the Florida heat, it's great to keep you covered, yet cool, and washes well (use cold water), but I suspect that the dye may fade over some time. I got another one today to use as a picnic blanket/beanbag cover. It's definitely a must-see shop while you're in Tallahassee and lake Ella. Great atmosphere, unique and cool things! read more

Serendipitiously stopped at this store because of the colorful signage... Wow. Awesome store. The prices are very reasonable too. There were so many things I wanted. There is so much random awesomeness packed into this little shop! From women's bohemian style clothing, to a large eclectic selection of jewelry, purses and bags, things to hang from ceilings and walls (like hand-blown glass balls and strings of glittery butterflies or fish), tapestries, Asian teapots and soup bowls, chopstick sets, incense, candles, and just so many other little unique trinkets and things. Seriously, you need to just go here to see everything that they have! I've never actually bought anything for myself here, now that I think about it. I've always bought gifts for other people here... and everyone has always loved their unique gifts. The staff is also very friendly and helpful. They even gave out these cute little Buddha and elephant keychains to both me and my husband when we made purchases around Christmas time, as New Years gifts to their costumers. Sweet. read more

Cute boutique full of trinkets, smells like incense with an ethereal lingering energy like fairies will just magically appear ... Actually, that's probably still the incense. Cute overpriced goodies for those with extra cash to spend on things that basically nobody needs...like tiny musical boxes (for the singing animals in your life, Cinderella). A place where you get charged almost $20 for a business card holder that kind of looks cool but will wear down in less than a year if you use it consistently. You'll probably get 5 compliments from people before that happens though so I guess it's worth it? Clothes, jewelry, random things, and reusable wrapping bags with cutesy/trite sayings perfect for most sappy holidays. Ok, I'll admit to the fact I really wanted to buy a zombie family decal for my car but I behaved and exercised self control. Next time though, the incense induced haze will probably result in a shopping spree worthy of owning a teacup Terrier. Go get lost for a while though, it's almost like a museum in that way. Bunch of cool things to look at and people watching is also great here. Also, your sister/cousin/partner's sister/other will probably love a gift from here. read more

Nice folks! I'm not a big recreational shopper, but when gift shopping is on the agenda, making an afternoon of browsing Quarter Moon's funky offerings, topping the package off with some of Barb's macadamia brittle, then grabbing a cup of coffee for yourself at Black Dog before a stroll around Lake Ella to work off the spending adrenaline is definitely the way to go. Lots of fun and reasonably-priced clothing, jewelery, and home accessories you won't find anywhere else, too. Quarter Moon Import Shop is the perfect place to shop if you're shopping for a festival, or anyone who just has a hippie flare to their style.
