I stumbled upon Queechy Cottages when I arrived in St Helens without much of a plan. 2 of us stayed in the motel and thought it was really lovely. The lady in reception offered to show us the room first, but we took a chance. It was clean and simple. Very cute! The place is across 2 levels with living, bathroom and kitchenette downstairs, and 2 beds (double and single) in a beautiful upper level with windows over looking the bay and high angled ceilings. There were also complimentary laundry facilities on site, which was a nice bonus. The shower was nice and hot, very clean, just small (compact). The decor is dated, but adequate and quaint. It didn't matter to us and added to the charm. The location is a short walk from the centre of town, but it was cold so we just drove in. It's a great budget option with character. read more
