If you're considering American Leadership Academy Queen Creek and will need bus transportation, I…read moreencourage you to look closely at their transportation policies before enrolling. Our children have attended ALA for years, but our experience with the bus system has been incredibly frustrating. On multiple occasions, our children's bus route has been canceled with very little notice, leaving us scrambling to find transportation. If you don't live near an existing bus route, it's extremely difficult to have a stop added. In our case, we had recently moved. The school's proposed solution was for our 13-year-old daughter to walk approximately 1.5 miles home from the bus stop in Arizona heat, including areas without continuous sidewalks and with limited safe crossing options. That simply isn't acceptable to our family. Yesterday was especially upsetting. Instead of dropping her off at her designated bus stop, the driver dropped her off at a different location. She didn't know where she was, her phone had died, and she had to find her way home on her own. She finally arrived home around 5:00 p.m., crying, with a bright red face and drenched in sweat. No parent should have to worry about their child being left at an unexpected location without any way to call for help. Academically, there are things we have appreciated about ALA. However, transportation and student safety have been major disappointments for our family. If your child will be riding the bus, I strongly encourage you to ask detailed questions about bus routes, stop locations, how route changes are communicated, and what procedures are followed if a driver cannot make a scheduled stop. The answers to those questions could make a significant difference in your decision.

The dean doesn't do shit if your kid is getting bullied, which happened to me. Be prepared for fake friends and those scary middle school and high school movies to come true, but only the scary parts. If your kid is even slightly weird, they will be bullied by rich, popular, morman kids.

I've had a student attend both and the staff at Casteel is by far more engaging, more understanding, and way more supportive than that little dot off higley. Casteel is newer, and yes that's appealing, but there is more to it than just that glitz and glam. If you can make it there, send your children to Casteel. You will not be sorry. We've utilized a lot of their programs and I'll tell you what, thank God for their counseling staff, (Hannah, im looking at you! ) their staff in the front office are absolutely amazing, polite, and entertaining. (The lovely gentleman that was right up front, was fabulous. So heartwarming. However, he retired(congratulations again, sorry I never caught your name, but I hope you're enjoying your very deserved retirement! ) Take a tour, expand your horizons, and please hydrate yourself. You won't be sorry. I know usually you're told where you need to take your kids, in my case it was payne(bootyhole) then Basha, but make the decision yourself. I wish I could hang a Casteel banner outside my window driving down Riggs, but, I was told that's too much. Oh well.

From my experience, my child was set up to fail. I reached out weeks in advance expressing concerns to the SPED department that my child was showing symptoms of a "flare-up" related to their diagnosed disability. Unfortunately, my concerns were not taken seriously until it was too late. Had the reports and warnings been addressed appropriately, my child may have been able to avoid experiencing a serious health crisis. In addition, the Dean's approach toward students with behavioral struggles has been extremely concerning. Instead of offering support and understanding; students are often labeled as "problem kids" or "bad kids." Inappropriate comments have been made directly to students regarding their diagnoses, including statements suggesting disbelief in their disabilities. These comments are harmful, unprofessional, and damaging to vulnerable students who need support, compassion, and appropriate intervention. Families with struggling children need guidance, resources, and collaboration; not judgment, dismissal, or intimidation. The lack of proper support within this department has had a significant negative impact on both students and families.

God almighty, this school is ATROCIOUS. I'd put zero stars if I could…read more I've been going here since the 3rd grade, I am now a sophomore in high school. As the years have gone by, the place has only gotten shittier. The curriculum is just as bad as every other school's. On top of that, the dress code requirements are insanely strict. (For example, you will only have a few days to correct your hair, so if youre busy that week then youre out of luck and youll get detention.) And holy shit the food is actual asscheeks. 3 dollars for a single stale piece of pizza?? I've thrown up because of this shitty ass food. Plus, half the teachers are mentally slow and don't know how to teach a goddamn class. (Except Mrs Reed and Mr lingaurd and Mr stock and some others they're cool.) The bullying problem here is also just horrible. If you get bullied, it is more than likely that you will get punished, not the bully. Not to mention the staff people are just straight mentally deficient. They're way too strict on us for zero reason. They also put the entirety of their funding into advertising and football. No other sport or activity sees any of the school's funding, causing certain seasons of sports and activities to end early due to lack of funding. So overall... SO DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILDREN HERE!!!!!!

We have two children who attend this school, we have a 6th grader who has attended this school…read moresince kindergarten and now his sister who is a kindergartner is attending. It is very family oriented and you'll see families come together supporting the kids and teachers at any given event. Our kindergartner is autistic and she has fit in well and is flourishing there. The school provides a lot of resources and activities for the students. They have band, orchestra, student council, mathletes, a gifted and talented program, cool clubs for the kids like kickball club and card trading club and much more. Our kindergartener registered for soccer this past fall and basketball camp during Spring Break and has just had a blast. I love how I never feel awkward at events because there aren't any "clicks" amongst the parents and kids there. There is not a religious belief pushed on to the kids here either. The principal is always out walking around and engaging with students and parents every day and has made time to discuss anything necessary when we have needed help. If you are looking for a school that will encourage your children to be the best version of themselves and to learn to make good choices...this is it. We ultimately as parents just want our kids to be kind, caring human beings in this world and this is the school that will promote that.
