She loves her job and the kids of valley stream which I appreciate so much. My father uses takes my daughter and we always raves about how fun the events are with Ms. Kunz. I went for myself and was so impressed. She gets all the kids involved and happy. In the summer they have the story times all around the neighborhood such as firemans field, village green, green acres mall and more. My daughter absolutely loves the Valley Stream childrens program and as a parent who couldn't afford summer camp I appreciate this program so much. It helps us keep our children busy and entertained. Ms Kunz, please keep doing the children's program because you are a blessing to Valley Stream and it's residents!

This has to be the worst library in the Guiness book of records. I have been to quite a few library…read morein and out of NY and this library takes the cake, cheese, and wine for having the loudest speaking librarians. Even the teenagers and the kids are not as loud speaking as these librarians discussing personal and work-related matters. The worst of all is that the loud speaking employee's office is directly next to what is supposed to be the quiet study zone, yet the zone is loud with these librarians' discussions. UNBELIEVABLE!!! so much for quiet library study time. Please note readers that I have been living in this town for 30+ years.

The staff was friendly and welcoming all visitors. The children area was well organized and books were clearly labels. My sons enjoyed the scavenger hunt a lot. They loved exploring the children area. The library was clean and neat. There were games, toys and crafts available for the kids.

Only issue was that the adult section and children room was not really separated and it could get really noisy when lots of children hanging out in the children area. Free WiFi! Street Parking, could not find a parking lot. Parking was not an issue at all on weekend. Great location.

Well, 45 minutes later, I was still oohing and awing at the marvelous selection of first edition books they have to offer. This is the largest selection (aside from corporate-owned Bauman's) of rare books I've seen that include the dust jacket- a collectors actual dream. It's the biggest breath of fresh air to find a rare book store owned by a woman, and to be treated like a human being. I normally get side-eyed from rare bookstore owners and some of the conversations I've had sound like: "May I see the Portrait of a Lady in the case?" "All of these books are at least $100.00 and up." ".....I know." "Do you have any Wilde?" "The book about the woman hiking alone? That's too new to be in our shop, Barnes & Noble would have it." "I'm talking about the 1800s poet." "Oh." I take it personally because while I look like a millennial who doesn't know what she's talking about, I treasure my rare books like they're my children. Sunday stayed AN EXTRA HOUR at her store while I looked and answered all of my questions that I had, never making me feel rushed or unwelcome. After selecting a first edition Fitzgerald, she wrapped it in bubble wrap for my travels back home and gave me an updated book with all of the rare book sellers in the country.
