Showing up for blood work at Quest Diagnostic is a disruptive life event that I would not wish on anyone.

Reckless and rude. They run the place like they want to incubate contagious disease: cramped unmasked waiting room, phlebotomists who can't bother to mask. The make billions. Spend some of it fora safe waiting room. Rude, surly staff. On the plus side, results are fast and easy access for doctors and patients. read more

Terrific overall experience this a.m. having my basic blood work done, as has always been the case. Donovan is very special, I think. Tranquil manner, total professional, wonderful voice. He says he can't appreciate his own voice; his wife reminds him how special it is. ;) Always look forward to coming here. read more

I made an appointment and when I arrived, I was taken right away. Donovan was my phlebotomist and he was excellent! I didn't even feel the needle at all! He was very friendly. I highly recommend this Quest location. read more

My experience from today 9/16/19: If anyone of you ever go to Quest diagnostics 148 East Ave in Norwalk, watch out for the Phlebotomist called Florence Float. She's one of the rudest and the most incompetent people I've ever met. I reached 5 min early from office with the doctor's scripts while the nanny was driving my son there from home. They reached within 5 mins of me. There was nobody else other than me... still within those 5 minutes she kept on repeating how selfish I was to register at the kiosk before he arrived; and that she'd take in anyone who comes before my son. Finally when my son arrived, he was seated and she asked me for my insurance card. I took a couple of minutes to find the card. She was beside herself with irritation and said that I shouldn't come in so unprepared and waste her time. I didn't tell her anything as I didn't want to spark any unpleasant conversation. However she did a lousy job, kept sticking my son multiple times unnecessarily in his arm ( inner elbow), veins on over his hand, near his wrists and asking me if others found his veins better. Finally when she managed to get a few drops of blood, my poor son was in pain. If such indecent people like her are hired, who don't know how to behave with patients and their parents/ families, your business would be in trouble. I am not going to go to that location if I find her there in future. read more

Why does website for 148 East Avenue in Norwalk, CT read that you are closed on Saturdays when you clearly are open. There was a line out the door and down the hall AT quest 40 cross street in Norwalk. The lovely staff at 40 cross was telling people that 148 WAS OPEN but clearly the website had not been updated in quite some time. Obviously no one wanted to give up their spot in line in case that information was also incorrect. There is also a Quest sign at 91 East Ave where I went , however that location closed some time ago as the office space was empty. My advice is to call and speak with a live person to get the correct, updated information if possible. If they are too lazy to not update their website information they probably don't update their voice mail either. As of 5/28 148 still says closed Saturday. And signs are still in 91 East Avenue. So although quest said hours on website were fixed they were not, voice mail says they are open. read more

I was so disappointed when I went to give blood on Monday. The older Jamaican woman walked in the room, didn't say a word to me, grabbed my arm and took my blood. I was in such shock that she never asked my name or birthday like they always do. Or even say hello how are you today. I was so nervous about being out which was the first time since March and she made me so upset. read more

Had an appointment, arrived on time, and was still requested to wait an unreasonable. Waiting room very unpleasant and quite dingy. Not a good place to have to visit. Quite ghetto. read more

I've made an appointment to do breath test to see if i still have bacteria in my stomached at 40 cross street Quest location, unfortunately, they didn't have the test kit in place. I was then sent to 148 east avenue location to do it, i was told i didn't have to wait in line again, however, when i've arrived, i had to sign in again and join the line. The staff was very rude, the person that had assisted me with the breath test was call Donovan, while I was doing the test, he repeatedly said "You're good at blowing Balloons", This is sexual abuse comment that isn't necessary, after spending 1 hour 15 min to do a simple breath test, i lost my patient and didn't dispute this at the time. I didn't feel the staff would have cared about this feedback at all just the way they had acted. I did fill a complaint on Quest website. They should have training on Respect and Sex Abuse at work. read more

WORST EXPERIENCE. If I could give 0 stars I would. Staff is extremely rude and unprofessional. One of the employees got mad because I didn't do the cortisol test correctly and the way he spoke to me is exactly how you should NEVER talk to patients. The entire staff should be fired. read more

I had a 1:15 appointment which apparently means nothing, as walk ins were in front of me and I had to wait 30 minutes!!! That being said, I had a GREAT experience with the man who took my blood. He was funny, it was painless, and quick. read more

I am just wondering if quest diagnostics screens their patients from rude to most rude. I've never had such an experience with some so rude. When you are in the healthcare industry you generally should treat people with respect because you don't know what their situation is. A worker should not ignore you and sit on their phone. I never normally would complain like this but I am shocked by how unprofessional and rude this place and employee was. Never again! read more

I went for a Covid 19 antibodies test on 5/1 with a friend. My friend received her test results that same night. Today is 5/12 and I still have not received my results. I have tried calling the lab (can't get a live person on the phone), I have contacted Quest Support twice and have received no response, and I have emailed patient advocacy and also received no response. I spent $130 out of pocket on this test and want to know what has happened to my sample. This office, and Quest as an entity, should be ashamed of themselves. My last resort in getting any resolution on this is to go back to the lab and demand answers. read more

I have been to this location twice and had wonderful experiences with staff both times. Both Hugo and Donovan have drawn my blood painlessly - they are pros! Very warm and friendly. My first appointment was in the afternoon and there was a bit of a wait but this happens in any busy medical office. I had a HORRIBLE experience at this location today (148 East Avenue -June 20 at 3:10 p.m.). The Hispanic female (short with a ponytail) phlebotomist (no name tag) at the front desk was RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL. I walked into the empty location only to find her on her cell phone and unengaging. When she finally got off of her cell phone and I was called to approach the counter, I was informed there was a mix up with my father's script that was sent on May 22. I and my 81 year old father waited patiently for the phlebotomist to check to see if the script was received electronically. After she worked on two patients without checking for the script, I called the doctor's office to send a fax instead so I could monitor when it came through. During that time, my 81 year old father needed to use the bathroom. I asked her to kindly pull the script that I heard come through the fax machine to ensure that if my father needed to give a urine sample, this would be an opportune time for her to give him a container since he has difficulty urinating for exams. She insisted on taking another patient, instead of checking the script, and in turn, my 81 year old father urinated on himself because she decided she did not want to accommodate my simple request. This is UNACCEPTABLE, and I am FURIOUS at the lack of compassion and incompetence that was displayed during my visit. After having us wait for 20 minutes and watch four other people be seen and leave was an egregious display of power and disrespect for the elderly. I have never had this experience at 91 East Avenue's Quest Diagnostics, and I hope that the proper training and etiquette is scheduled for this phlebotomist so she is made aware that professionalism, courtesy, and respect is key when serving the public! read more

I was in and out on a Thursday morning in less than 15 minutes. Well-run facility with friendly staff.

Wilmington Cancer Center at Norwalk Hospital electronically submitted request for bloodwork. Bloodwork needed for CT scheduled at 148 East Ave. Arrived masked due to COVID 19 I had an appointment scheduled. One other patient and myself waiting. The staff members were joking and laughing, walking in and out. Finally, intake person called my name the problem began because she couldn't find the electronically submitted lab work from the cancer center. I asked her to call the cancer center or my doctor. Sorry, she said, I don't know the number....I suggested she google it. Sorry, she said, I can't find it. I explained I needed the blood work for a CT my oncologist requested. Sorry, she said, so I walked out without the test and cancelled my CT. I have been going to this lab for years and always had a positive experience. But, due to the excuse of COVID the regular staff was not there. I will never go back to Quest at 148 East Avenue, Norwalk, CT. read more
