I am diabetic and had already taken my insulin before arriving. Even after explaining my condition, I was left waiting for over an hour without proper attention. My blood sugar dropped severely and I started shaking badly in the waiting room. I repeatedly told staff I was not feeling well, but I felt ignored and dismissed. After a shift change, another receptionist spoke to me rudely and denied that I had been told I was next. By the time I was finally called, I could barely walk. Because my blood pressure and blood sugar were so low, they had difficulty drawing my blood and had to try multiple times while I was trembling and feeling extremely weak. This situation was unsafe, traumatic, and could have become a serious medical emergency. No diabetic patient should ever be treated this way.

There is a directory in the main lobby and signs pointing to different suite numbers. The clinic was easy to find. (The building is located on Pomerado Rd between the hospital and Goodwill on the east side of the road). Staff were rather impersonal, but got the job done. Plenty of free parking. As flu season hits, you never really know if what you have is Covid-related or the seasonal flu. Symptoms are alike and I started to feel under the weather with a sore throat, fever, and fatigue. I was very concerned and even though I've been vaccinated with a booster there is still a chance I can get infected, especially with the new variant, Omicron which is most contagious. It was difficult trying to find an available PCR Covid-19 test in the community and I was getting frustrated. Fortunately, my friend recommended CovX Labs. The process was easy and stress-free. You can pre-register online and book your appointment at any of the San Diego locations. The closest location from me was in Poway and the building was easy to find. They have their office sign visible up front and plenty of parking available. They also take walk-ins, but I recommend booking ahead of time. They offer a discount code when you schedule online, which I took advantage of. I was the first one there when I arrived. Lucky me! Unfortunately, they didn't look prepared to work. I saw them unpacking boxes inside and nobody was up front to assist me. I finally had to flag down an employee as I waited outside. He asked me if I made an appt. and pre-registered. I said yes, but he couldn't locate me in their system. Doh! He was still able to assist and I had to fill out some basic information on his iPad. They also accept insurance, but I paid out of pocket. He ended up giving me the uncomfortable swab test. My first one! It was quick and not as bad as I thought. He was quite gentle, which I appreciated. An emailed payment receipt is sent to you and he informed me that my results should come in before the end of the day. I liked how you can get same day results and they made sure to provide that for me as promised. I received two emails afterwards that my sample was being processed and they provided a token number that I would need to access my results. The second and final email was a pdf file of my results. I was able to save the document for my records. They also have a YouTube video tutorial of the whole process, which I highly recommend watching. Thanks CovX Labs for the positive experience! For me, I just walked up at 9AM - there was 4 people in front of me, and I left at 9:25ish. Seemed reasonable. The person doing the swabs was very gentle and efficient. No problems there. The companies definition of "same day results" is a little dubious - 12:20AM the next day is a stretch but close enough I'm not worried about it. Website was kinda iffy though - took like 3 minutes to finish loading after submitting the screening form.

I wanted to report them to the Better Business Bureau, but I discovered that LabCorp is registered under many different locations and none of them were correct for registering a complaint. The test was $85 for their standard processing and $150 for rushed/rapid results (which includes all the accompanying documentation/certifications for travel). I felt this was a reasonable price and the process was extremely easy -- make an Appt online, show up, and get tested. I was in & out in less than 15 min and was told my results would be available within 24 hrs (but likely between 2-4pm same day, my test was 830am). For a lab that doesn't typically interface with the public, they are doing a fantastic job -- super friendly and happy to answer any/all questions. It does not contain Phamatech's tax ID, diagnostic codes, procedure codes, etc. I emailed Phamatech's admin account three times with a copy of the receipt and asking for an invoice or super bill to be used for my insurance. NO RESPONSE. I called the 888 number listed on their website 4 times now within the last month: First attempt: I spoke with a young lady who said she would place an IT ticket for my request and it would be worked on. Why a receipt needed to go through IT? Who knows. Second attempt: I spoke to a gentleman who said their staff was affected by Covid and that they would eventually get to my request. He tried to give me the invoice info over the phone but my insurance won't accept it from me.
