1/5 stars Extremely disappointed by an inexcusable delay in basic X-Ray results. At my August 26th appointment, my doctor explicitly told me--and their website confirmed--that I would receive my results in 2 to 3 days. When that timeframe passed with zero communication, I contacted Sharp, only to be informed that their in-house radiology department is currently 7 to 14 business days behind. I have been dealing with severe pain since that appointment and have an upcoming consultation with an orthopedist on the 8th. Because of this failure, I won't even have my basic radiology results to support my care or show my specialist. It is completely baffling and unacceptable that an in-house department can fall this far behind in modern healthcare. Shame on Sharp for failing their patients to this degree. If you have any alternative options, please go elsewhere--it is clear that things are only getting worse here. read more

This place is busier and busier. It feels more like Kaiser then sharp. I am always waiting longer than my appointment time, to see my practitioner. And last minute cancellations and no one is covering them. The ADA parking is out of code with the federal and state mandates. So if that is something you need, plan for extra time to find a reasonable parking spot, bring a driver or use a ride share. Parking is atrocious for anyone needing ADA parking. This used to be the premiere health care, or at least second. And they are consistently slipping from that. The level of customer service at the front desk, the amount of time the doctors actually spend with you, makes me wonder if they have switched to a for profit healthcare system. Not horrible. Dr. Veena Arun (ophthalmologist) at Sharp Rees-Stealy Rancho Bernardo - is the most egotistical, narcissistic, incompetent, dismissive, and unprofessional Doctor I have ever had the displeasure of knowing. She takes ZERO accountability for laser surgeries that she performed on her patients when they come back to her for after-surgery problems or complications. I RARELY write negative reviews but I wanted people to know what you're getting yourself into when you go into her office. In Oct 2024, I went in for laser surgery with Dr. Arun. On the day of surgery, she was highly unprofessional taking a personal call right outside the office door where I could hear the entire conversation. She took her sweet time nearly 15 minutes on the phone while I was sitting there sweating with pre-surgery jitters. When she came in to perform the surgery, the surgery itself took half the time it did for her personal phonecall, and not one word of an apology. In Nov 2024, I returned for a follow up appointment. During this appointment she was again highly unprofessional and inappropriate, this time trying to elicit my law knowledge for her personal life problems stating she wanted to sue someone for defamation. In late Nov 2024, I started having problems with my eye sight. "Floaters" appeared in my left eye and my vision was affected. I was scared and concerned! I reached out SEVERAL times to her office via phone and all those times I was told Dr. Arun and her staff were "UNAVAILABLE." On Jan 2, 2025, I wrote an appointment request via Sharp's app. Then wrote another message on Jan 8, 2025. I also called several times - always "NOT AVAILABLE." On Jan 15, 2024 , Dr. Arun's assistant Veronica finally responded but she was argumentative, berating and scolding me on why my new eye problems had nothing to do Dr. Arun. Then they tried to immediately transfer me to a different ophthalmologist Doctor. On Jan 16, 2025, I reported an official complaint about Dr. Arun and her office to Sharp Customer Service. And ONLY THEN on Jan 17, 2025 after submitting my complaint- Dr. Arun responded via Sharp app message. Note it has been nearly TWO MONTHS now since I've been freaking out. She feigned concern, but by then I lost all respect for her. She treats her patients like they are all beneath her, and her calm demeanor is a facade of her true narcissistic tendencies. I am a patient of Dr. Kapoor at Sharp Rees-Stealy. Typically I will schedule my appointments for the Santee office. This time around she was booked out too far in Santee, so I had to schedule for the Rancho Bernardo location. This was my first time at this location. It was easy to find, just off of the 15 on Rancho Bernardo Dr. There was plenty of parking between the surface lot and the tri-level parking structure. The building is quite large. The pharmacy and Urgent Care are among the ground floor departments. My appointment was 2nd floor Ophthalmology. I was pretty early for my 8:40 AM appointment. I checked in at the kiosk and took a seat in the waiting area. In less than five minutes my name was called and I was led into an exam room. Easily a good 20 minutes earlier than my appointment time. The staff were all great and Dr. Kapoor, as usual, was great. She explains things thoroughly with easy to understand terminology. She is really pretty too. When I was left alone, it was always less than 10 minutes. I felt as though the personal care level was excellent. I had their undivided attention. An on-site coffee/snack shop or cart would be great. I was pretty hungry upon arrival. Would've loved a bagel or muffin or something. Location: this is one of the busiest Sharp locations in the area, so it's often harder to get an appointment and wait times are longer. When I urgently need a lab done, I prefer to schedule at Sorrento Mesa or Mira Mesa, which have much shorter lines. However, this location is beautiful and much newer than the other ones. Parking: free! There is outdoor parking or indoor parking in the garage. There is a bridge on one level of the parking garage leading directly into the hospital. Quality of care: I've seen my regular doctors here, and I've also seen urgent care. Urgent care has LONG wait times here. I really recommend using virtual urgent care whenever possible because it's not fun to sit in a crowded waiting room. Even if you come right when they open, you'll still wait a long time. Ughh..getting injured as an active person sucks arse!!! I had a sprained foot that took almost two months to heal. I decided it was time to see a doctor. I scheduled an appointment to see a podiatrist and was assigned to Dr. Pham. Location: I love the location since it's close to home, has plenty or parking, and well-maintained. I appreciated the Covid protocols set in place ensuring everyone is masked and practicing social distancing. Everything seemed well-organized and departments were easy to locate. Experience: First visit for X-rays: The Radiology department was fast and thorough. No complaints. I was in and out in 30 minutes. Customer service was also friendly and prompt. Second visit with Dr. Pham was less than outstanding, but satisfactory for what it is. The receptionists were very nice on the phone and in person. Unfortunately, the wait time took longer than Dr. Pham's assessment on my foot. I appreciated that he was quick and straight to the point, but it felt rushed. I hate that feeling. The X-rays showed no fracture (yay!) but the overuse of physical activities (i.e., spin and barre) caused inflammation/bruising and swelling of the ball of my foot especially my poor big toe. Walking was a struggle and any pressure on my foot felt like stepping on a sharp pebble stone. No fun! Dr. Pham also noticed my ankles needed support and gave me braces which can be worn while doing physical activities such as hiking. I have yet to use them. His assistant, Eric was great and demonstrated how to place the braces on. It sure has a lot of straps and not the most comfy. Funny how I walked in with a foot injury, but came out with ankle braces instead. Was I duped? With a bill of $350, I can say the whole visit was a complete waste of time. I was better off waiting it out and letting it heal on it's own. A least I didn't fracture my foot. I do have to make modifications when working out from now on. I have special insoles for my shoes and a bunion corrector. I'm getting old guys! LOL! Overall, 3 stars because I knew what I was expecting. I was just hoping I would be wrong. Le sigh. read more

I try to be very understanding of people's time but it's been over 3 years of me going to Dr. Cobbs office and just getting a call back, is impossible. It has been nothing but frustrating trying to get an appt or get help with birth control refills. Maybe he and his staff pay more attention to women of birthing age but if you're done having babies I do not recommend his office at all. read more

Why my meds haven't been refilled. The pharmacy called after no response they called me. I called the office and went to the office, they said the message was being relayed. Still nothing I called a couple of more time and here it is 3 months later for my high blood pressure meds to be filled, thank the Lord I had some in an old purse. I moved from North county and expected the same great service. I guess the doctor must be inexperienced cause who keeps high blood pressure meds from a senior patient. I'm not new to Sharp. This is the place where business is important than health which I get it. I work in the banking industry and I have now better idea how sharp is running their business. I will make sure to post that on public platforms. When you're a new patient you get appointments same day. But when you're an existing patient , you may have to wait few months. Yesterday dr told me before he even started that it's a new rule that we can only perform one thing. I was there to do my physical and I had one health concern that I wanted to share. I was hesitant to come here because of the whole pandemic. This was the urgent care with the shortest wait time on my insurance company's website. I don't love that there isn't a lot of privacy when you're checking in and having to say what you're coming in for. The guy next to me had a private issue and was trying to whisper but the lady at the front desk could not hear him through the plexiglass. Yikes! All things considered, I can confidently recommend this place. Staff is relatively fast and efficient. Everyone was compassionate and friendly, and both the nurse and the doctor took time to explain what they were doing and why before they did it. I was frequently updated about my estimated length of stay and given options about my treatment. I sprained my ankle hiking and was seen at this Urgent Care the same day. CHECKING IN There is no privacy whatsoever when checking in here so be aware. If you are coming in for a private matter, just know that. You even give out your address, DOB, and phone number so everyone else in the room can hear it. Didn't really like that at all but it is what it is I guess. Wait time was about 15-20 min on a Sunday evening around 7pm. No one takes your temperature upon entry or goes through any covid protocols anymore. Masks I believe are required. CARE TEAM & EXPERIENCE Receptionist was thoughtful & gave me ice & a wheelchair after I checked in. Dr. Lowell & RN Michael were fantastic! 10/10 recommend Urgent Care here. Dr. Lowell was hilarious, detail oriented, and did not rush through the appointment even though they were about to close. Gave me detailed info about my X-ray and aftercare. Prescribed me 2 options for drugs and was very friendly. He went above & beyond to show me images of foot ligaments & bones too so I could better understand my Xrays. Thank you! Michael was very careful pushing me around in the wheelchair & made sure to lock it whenever I had to get in or out of it for safety purposes. He never laughed at me even though I told him I fell on my @$$ while hiking with my dog. I feel like I would've. Lol. He was very professional throughout. He adjusted my crutches to the perfect height & even made adjustments. It was my 1st time using crutches so he even gave me a detailed tutorial on how to use it. Wow. Still waiting to hear back after I received a bill for a wellness check that the doctor coded as " meet and great" and "diagnostic " so my health insurance won't pay for the lab work the doctor ordered. Sharp refuses to book it less than a year from previous appointment, in spite of the fact insurance says they will pay. Dr Goldberg in pediatrics is a legit nightmare. Unhinged and unprofessional in her conduct. She was confrontational and overly emotional and ridiculously unhelpful. Never have I witnessed behavior that disturbing for a physician before, scary. Wouldn't trust her to treat anything or anyone SMH, sick. Also Dr Sarah Rojas in family medicine I believe was very unhelpful and had a poor bedside manner. Among many failures she didn't refer me to a specialist, had a condescending judgmental tone and attitude and didn't perform a physical which the appt was scheduled for, how can a md be a failure won so many levels and be work here. He was professional, personable, knowledgeable, and attentive. He was very honest and upfront about the time it could take to receive the deliverables. I finally got my sunglasses and they are stunning. My prescription will take a little bit of time to get used to as expected. I had to leave multiple "high priority" messages that were sent to Dr Barmettlers office and neither Rose nor anyone in there told me after days later until days later "ohh yes hes not in today" i was calling all these days and everyday nobody of you could have told me hes on break or what can we do to resolve this issue. The cardiac center needs the form faxed over since last week.! A whole week has passed and no help from them. I guess I was inspired by reading about the broken toilet issue at a friend's place and went to clean the toilet bowl at my own place. It only took me a moment to get the supplies... the brush and a new bottle of Lysol Toilet Cleaner 10x. It's a deep blue and I generously squirt the liquid in the bowl and get to work. After cleaning up my area for most of my life, the unthinkable happens. A blue speck lands directly in my eye and starts burning! Oh crap! I went to the sink and turned on the cold water to flush the eye. It's BURNING! I manage to stop long enough to read the bottle with the notifications... - protective eye gear (mia) - rinse eye for 10 minutes (felt like hours) - call Poison Control (bleep) Poison Control informs me to seek immediate care if it doesn't stop hurting after doing what was needed. Spouse is involved and we zip over to Sharp. The staff is kind and quickly access me. I'm in the back in minutes. My visit consists of two different nurses and a super friendly doctor with short hair and glasses (Dr. Zheng?...not sure). Numbing drops, black lights, more drops and eyeball flushing work to rid the rest of the chemical (hydrochloric acid 9%). It seems this toilet bowl cleaner stuff will scratch your cornea. "I'm a bit embarrassed and should become more methodical." I tell the doctor. She smiles and replies, "Don't tell anyone. If everyone is too careful, I will be out of a job." We both laugh. I'm in and out in less than an hour with the advice of using preservative-free lubricating eye drops. The service is great! The staff is patient and knowledgeable. This is why I love Sharp!
