Two things about the Southbury location: 1 - Fully agree with the below review. We were a walk-in (and the only walk in) and we got pushed for an hour and finally left. If you can't service walk ins, don't offer it as an option...what a waste of an hour waiting to draw blood for an 83 year old woman with cancer. 2- This is a cold place. Don't go to the Southbury Quest as a walk in! They purposely make you wait if you are a walk in! Went there this morning as a walk in because there were no appointments in the late morning. When I walked in there was only one other person waiting. There were 3 yes three phlebotomist working. One phlebotomist came out stating if you didn't have an appointment you could wait up to 1 hour. Staff kept coming out calling in patients that were not even there. I went in and had my blood drawn while 1person was waiting in the lobby to have her blood drawn, the 2 other phlebotomist never went out to call her in. Terrible customer service.. Don't try to walk in at the Southbury location. Staff doesn't take too kindly to walk-ins and the attitudes reflect their immense disdain for it. Almost seems like they slow roll just you to "teach you a lesson". Bring a lunch and a book cause its gonna be a long wait. First of all, it is always best to make an appointment when going to get bloodwork done. It guarantees that you will be seen, especially nowadays. Second of all, the ladies who work here are absolutely WONDERFUL - sweet, accommodating, and knowledgeable. I am grateful for all of the help that they have given me over the years. Chantel was the best phlebotomist I have ever had. She explained everything to me, from the insurance and billing, through the procedure , to how she processes the sample. She took time to look for the best vein, talk to me during so it would feel less painful, and clean up my arm after the blood draw. I highly recommend this location if she is working! read more

This is my first Yelp review. I am writing it to help other people who are in need of quick and easy blood analysis. I was referred to Quest by my doctor for routine blood work. I made an appointment online and drove in from the next town over. Long story short, when I arrived they had no record of my appointment. This woman named Abby "I'M NOT REQUIRED TO GIVE MY LAST NAME" told me I didn't have an appointment. She kept saying (very condescendingly) the website is self explanatory and you DON'T have an appointment. When I tried to explain that I did have an appointment she became very argumentative and quite frankly rude. Then I saw that even though she wouldn't acknowledge my appointment after I had driven from another town, there was a waiting list for walk-ins. I signed in. Then, before their early 4pm closing time she came back out in the waiting room to tell me they didn't have time to see me. I get it, these places are busy, but people like Abby should realize she's dealing with sick people that need help. Instead of being unapologetic and rude, why not try to be pleasant and helpful by doing whatever she could to make people's visit easier instead of more difficult? Came in 2 weeks ago, checked in and sat down. Someone came out and said walk-ins are severely limited, it's better to make an appointment. So I left. It took 2 weeks to get an appt,I got stuck in traffic for an hour, so I was 15 minutes late. They cancelled the appointment and are now telling me I am considered a walk in...there are 5 people waiting here as walk-ins. No one with an appointment. No one is coming in or going out. Walked right in had no issues at all didn't even feel anything! I have high anxiety and A needle phobia to the fullest and she made me feel completely comfortable as if nothing was even happening (she talked to me like a real human not a robot!!) will definitely be using this office as long as she is still there! The service here was terrible. They couldnt draw my blood and one of the techs was talking loudly in another room non stop making my tech and me tense. My husband then went for labs there despite my warning and they couldnt draw his labs either. The skill is lacking there and they need to reevaluate patient care and professionalism. I was told late by my doctor that I needed a blood test so it was too late to make an appointment. I got there at 9:30 Wednesday morning with 4 people, who did not have appointments like me. Every time the girl came out she made a nasty remark about how there were only two of them doing tests and people with appointments got priority. With two of them I am sure every 15 minutes they could squeeze someone in. At 11:30, after still waiting, there was one person with out an appointment ahead of me. The girl came out and the other person asked if he would be taken soon. Her reply was, I don't know, you may have to wait until after our lunch. Very nasty girl. Had blood drawn, Megan was very rude, everytime I asked a question, I was given a dirty look and a nasty answer. I asked her a question about why I was charge 170 for my labs and turned the screen around and she said look. Ask her another question about the labels and her answer was no, when I asked her what that meant, she said I said no. She asked me what arm I wanted my blood drawn and I explained that they have a hard time drawing blood from me, that she had to check to see what vein was good and she gave me a nasty remark and put the turnick on real tight and started slapping my arm really hard, I told her she was hurting me and she told me next time to drink water. Very Very rude. Will never go there, hope she does not treat and hurt elderly patients like she did me. read more

Problem with appointment system -- being charitable. Had a 7:30 appt, checked in, opted to wait in car. Long story short after over an hour and checking back in look at the queue displayed on video a couple times, I cornered staff. Was told I had to check in. Explained had done it twice. Told do repeat. System my reservation code invalid. Finally cornered staff. Showed my reservation confirmation email. Finally was taken for the blood draw after more than 90 minutes. Staff explained they'd notified me. Said they'd gone "out front" to call for me. After I explained I'd opted to wait outside expecting a text, was told that a text was sent. Showed that I'd received no text. Despite this monumental screw up, no one apologized. Suggest that you look for alternatives, I will. read more

Here was my experience with Quest Diagnostics in Southbury. I was tested in late May for bladder cancer. The report came back a week later. It stated that the urine sample I'd provided was "insufficient" for testing, and that I was given a collection kit and advised to return. All false. I was assured at the site that the sample was adequate, and I was neither given a collection kit nor advised to return. Why would I be, when the sample was adequate? Upon receiving the report, I did return, and this time tested positive for cancer. There followed four-plus weeks of high anxiety (including a ruined vacation), culminating in painful, invasive further testing. The further testing conclusively established that I did not have cancer: the initial result had been a false positive. Perhaps I cannot justly blame Quest for the false positive, as that is a risk of the procedure. But I can imagine no excuse for the claim that the first sample I'd provided was inadequate and that I'd been given a collection kit and advised to return. This was plain false, and Quest must have known that it was false. I wonder: did someone at Quest simply mess up the test and then concoct a phony narrative to cover the mistake? read more

I was diagnosed with bronchitis via Telehealth. I was told to go for a flu and COVID test. Went to my local, Southbury, CT Quest. Signed in, chose the option to wait in my car. Went in after a half hour. The wait time changed from 110 minutes to 232 minutes. They'd be closed!!! The tech was beyond rude. Wouldn't help me. She said they don't take walk ins! Since when??? I left in tears. She could have cared less. No one was waiting and she admitted she had no others to wait on. So she gets 25 minutes to DO NOTHING until closing! Unacceptable! read more

Easy to set up appointment. Only a 5 minute wait time. Was able to check in via text, and wait in car until I was ready to be seen. Lab tech was great, painless. Didn't like that I was asked to sign a confirmation that I witnessed the tech put labels on the vials before they even put the labels on. The office is large and bright. There wasn't any biohazard or debris on the floor like the Middlebury office (so gross). The walls were dirty, and an inch of dust on printer cart and furniture. I feel quest labs has a real opportunity for cleaner offices especially during these times. But overall I was just grateful to be in and out quickly. read more

Avoid this place if possible. Employees extremely unprofessional. Sat in there for 40+ minutes while employees were chatting inside. Once I got in there, they wouldn't scan the order for my phone, they wouldn't except the electronica order my doctor had put in, because she was in New York. I am a convert to Clinical Laboratory Partners thanks to this Quest office. Quest in Southbury treated me poorly when I came in for a specialty blood draw that I had fasted for, (one guy, who of course wasn't the one helping me, seemed very nice), but the lady who I talked to had a pretty bad attitude which I did not appreciate at all. I came in days earlier to ask about my special test (a different woman at the desk who had a bad attitude as well) because there is no way to talk to anyone on the phone. They were not much help & basically told me to leave with no blood drawn. I don't know why Clinical Lab Partners isn't as well known, the office I went to in Monroe helped me out so much because the woman at Quest also neglected to give me back my labwork request (I didn't realize this until I got to Monroe..partly my fault for not checking to make sure she handed me back everything...but still). I won't be visiting this location or probably any Quest again for that matter since I know I have a choice now. read more

I literally had to create a Yelp account to write the following. Within these reviews, there is mention of favoritism despite all having to self register; thus, creating a queue to be seen. In doing so, my estimated time to be seen stated "7 mins". I have my seat. 4 ahead of me and 3 register immediately after me. The 7 minutes became 30 but the worst part was that I was skipped not once but 3 times! When I finally stated, "I've been skipped over going on the 3rd time now...", the employee stated "what's your name? David Torres? (After I told him) Yea, I don't know anything about that..." and preceded to usher in the 3rd person to skip me right before my eyes!Who does that?? Unfathomable disregard and disrespect. No explanations given despite asking for one. Detached, ingenuous apology. To top it all off, they didn't have all of the orders which my physician's office sent over and didn't care to find out why. A quick update of my review. I have been back 2 more times to try and get a single blood test. Same bad results- no test, after spending close to two hours sitting in their waiting room. They don't honor appointments, they seem to hate their jobs and their patients, and they are as rude as they could possibly be. Every time the door opens from the lab to the lobby, a tech comes out and glares at everybody like it's our fault that she has to do her job when she doesn't want to. combine that with all the people complaining about the delays and 'playing favorites' (walking people into the back past everyone who has been waiting) and it's like the waiting room to hell. I have had many many labs in the last two months, at four different lab locations including labcorp on sandpit road in danbury, the absolute worst experience, and the danbury hospital lab in southbury, also not a fan, and the quest lab on south main street in southbury where the wait time and staff were terrific, easy check-in, good service, amazing service actually compared to my experiences at other labs, i would highly recommend this lab over any others in the area. read more

When they arrived he was told there was no order. I called the doctor and had them fax the order agian and when they called the lab no answer. The tech told my husband he needed to leave now and come back tomorrow. I called today and the tech said the order WAS recieved yesterday. The lab is disorganized and unprofessional. read more

There are far more professional places for x-rays and your radiology tests. This place was an exercise in frustration from making the appointment, to their changing my appointment three times,to dealing with the technicians who could not take a proper x-ray. Safety needs to be a hgher priority here for sure. read more

Horrible! They don't honor appointments; they don't take phone calls; they are always running behind; and there's never anyone in the "reception" area to help. But the real issue is the HORRIBLE ATTITUDE of the people who work there. I tried to use these guys this week for routine blood work and have been there three times now...to no avail! Forget it. Going to find a place that has actual people working behind the counter; who take phone calls (as opposed to Quest's "automated" system); and who respect their customers' time. Don't bother with these idiots! Today, no one came out to the counter until 20 minutes AFTER my appointment time...and then the woman gave me a big attitude because I expressed mild annoyance with having an appointment that no one even recognized. And, guess what? If you're there, and they ignore your appointment, and you want to reschedule another one? They can't do appointments in their facility! You have to call back and slog through their phone system again. I don't think so, Quest. You can take your lousy automation and your rude attitudes and shove them up your diagnostic lower intestine!
