The first time (3/26), we arrived and were told the facility was closed for a belt competition, and that an email had been sent out. We were then instructed to come back the following Thursday at 4 PM. Before going in today, I even confirmed via text that my son had a reserved spot. When we arrived, the facility was closed again. This has been especially frustrating because my son has been excited to start, and he's now been let down two weeks in a row. Also, sending closure notifications 30 minutes prior is not adequate communication. Overall, this experience has been unprofessional and inconvenient. I cannot speak on the quality of instruction since we never got the chance to attend a class, but based on the lack of communication and organization, I would not recommend.

My oldest is now a purple belt and still working towards his black belt journey. He even joined the demo team this year and he loves every minute of being with this team! He developed not just skills, but also confidence. He developed socially and also learned a sense of responsibility and commitment in everything he does with a "Yes I Can" attitude. On the other hand, my youngest did not push through with attending classes in 2023. Emotionally and socially, he is not ready, but he continued to accompany us and watch his brother attend all his classes. VMA Grand Canyon did not push, every so often they will ask him if he is ready to join the mat, even if the answer is always, "no". The instructors treated him the same even without him joining the mat. They always say "hi" and ask how his day had been. They always encourage him to join some other fun activities and he was not treated any different. Finally, this year, he made his own decision to join the Tigers class and now has a Tiger Belt! He even attends Leadership Classes recently! Victory Martial Arts Grand Canyon is beyond just a martial arts class. Throughout this years, they treated us like family!
