Is that a phoenix or a peacock?…read more It's a phoenix.. A phoenix is a symbol of rebirth. I guess you could say that; I came to Vegas to be reborn. Somehow in 2022, the algorithm on Facebook thought that ILKB should appear in my feed. I needed an outlet and I was still new to Vegas and I came in to the Flamingo location check it out. I had no idea what I was getting into. I was just a little bit stunned with myself. If it wasn't for Mark's salesmanship, it would have ended there. I started coming to the Flamingo location for probably four months. Unfortunately, I had to take several months off due to an auto accident. I had to go to all of these appointments and could not come into the gym. I had to keep putting a hold on my membership. After months of asking the doctors for advice on getting back into kickboxing and not getting any, the physical therapy abruptly stopped. I had no answers on how to pick up the pieces and put my life back together again. The only advice: be careful with kickboxing and try going once a week. That was it. Nobody cared. I started coming back once a week at the Flamingo location. I talked to them about my problem with my injury and I still struggled a bit. Then I moved and started going to the Ann road location. I had a hard time addressing what problems I had (I can't say why because I don't want to start drama.). My neck was still popping and my back is still giving me problems. I felt really lost and that I was broken. I spoke to Teresa (who I met through the Flamingo location) about my problem and she referred me to Brenda for help. Teresa's referral was the best thing that happened since the accident. I got personal training with Brenda twice and worked on my upper strength. My neck nearly quit popping and I made an improvement with high planks, elbow planks, push ups , upper cuts, roundhouse, and side kicks ( still working on that). I am overwhelmed with emotions because I have received so much support from both John and Brenda over here at Ann Rd. I have been through so much and the help I have received from here means a ton to me. I don't really think that anyone realizes what a impact they have made in my life. Brenda and John have been very amazing, kind, patient, and helpful. I really wished that I was talking to them while I was going through physical therapy to be honest. I have met some really great friends here. I think my life would have went downhill again if I never had seen ILKB on Facebook. I would never had met any one here in Vegas.

Scam! Thieves! Don't care about their clients! Avoids hundreds of calls and emails! No response!…read moreLeaves you hanging! The manager David has completely ghosted me! He has wasted so much of my time trying to get a hold of him and writing emails, now he's going to waste more of my time to take ILK to small claims court. He recorded our phone call, as did I, and I have provided all the documentation & medical notes needed to break my 1 year contract that I paid for upfront without hesitation. I went to maybe 5 classes when suddenly I needed an emergency surgery and could no longer punch for 6-12 months. Every punch was slowly damaging me, and I didn't know it til I blacked out and cracked my face open. They will screw you over! Highly recommend finding a company that keeps their word and honors their contracts. Horrible communication. Horrible management. AVOID ILK!!!

My son enrolled here to try Muay Thai for the first time. The first class focused on drills and…read moreconditioning. On the second day, he was paired to spar with a 14‑year‑old girl who repeatedly used elbows to his head. He chose not to match her force because he was trying to be respectful. We contacted the coach afterward and were under the impression the situation would be addressed. On the third day, a 9‑year‑old was sparring in the adult class. My son (5'8", 174 lbs, and on only his third day) tried to guide the younger child by reminding him to keep his hands up. At some point, the coach felt my son made contact too hard. An adult student named Greg--over 6 feet tall and more than 300 lbs--then asked to spar with my son; my son being new and being instructed to spar with everyone accepts to spar. He struck my son hard multiple times and got a clean hit to the face. When my son asked him to tone it down, Greg responded that my son should have done the same with the younger child and if he wanted him to tone it down my son should do the same with the 9 year old. The coach later stated that he had been watching the interactions but did not step in. He defended Greg's behavior while also saying it "wasn't okay," and his only proposed solution was to talk to Greg. He also questioned why my son returned after feeling uncomfortable on day two. The coach repeatedly emphasized that this is a "fighting gym," yet allowed a clear size and experience imbalance to escalate without intervention. This environment does not appear to prioritize safety, supervision, or appropriate pairing--especially for beginners or younger participants. The coach acknowledged that if Greg had gone "really hard," my son would not have been standing, which raises further concerns about oversight and risk management. If you are looking for a structured, safe, and positive learning environment focused on skill development, discipline, and proper supervision--especially at $200 per month per person--this may not be the right fit. My son attended to learn self‑defense and gain confidence, not to be placed in unsafe or poorly supervised sparring situations.
