I think the reason you see brunch items in these pictures here is because they are sister restaurants and I bet the pics are mixed together because of that. I have seen that before with two restaurants that are owned by the same people.

On that fateful day I immediately knew that I would return someday...yes, I put that out in the universe, and thankfully the universe listened! Living in California and having an obsession with all things coffee and brunch is easy with so many options available (gotta love that California lifestyle!), but sometimes it's a challenge to satisfy these cravings when traveling in other countries. Well thank goodness Holybelly exists in one of my all-time favorite cities, Paris, and it has become one of my go-to spots when I get to travel here. This most recent visit, I had my usual Eggs with Sides (usually the sautéed mushrooms and green salad). My boyfriend had the Eggs with hash browns and beans so we could try a little bit of everything. We were hungrier than usual because we literally had just arrived in Paris from San Francisco, so despite our exhaustion from 15 hours of flights and layovers, we had our hearts set on making this our 1st stop! No time to waste! Food was amazing as usual, hit the spot perfectly, and our Flat Whites were rich and creamy. The only negative thing is that they don't have milk alternatives like almond milk or soy milk, but when in Europe, we don't get too picky because we know their dairy is much better quality anyway. It was wonderful to get to meet the owners Sarah and Nico this time as well, and they were incredibly welcoming and friendly when I decided to go up to them and introduce myself. You guys have a lifelong fan here in California, and I can't wait to return to Paris to checkout Holybelly 2 when it opens!!

And then, there's the friendly people, always smiling and making you more of a fan of Cantine. I've eaten veggie burgers across Paris, and this place figures in the top three. It's a must visit, and the Cantine at Marche St Honoré has become more than a weekly affair. To sum up, the food and the people remind you of your close friends, and puts you in a comfort zone.

I was not disappointed. The pair that own the food truck were super friendly and helpful and enthusiastic about our enthusiasm. It was great. I got the Half Moon Bay Burger: Roquefort, blackened red peppers, lettuce, tomato, caramelized onions and of course a special sauce. The burger was done right, had enough fat so it wasn't dry and nasty and the bun was substantial and delicious. Oh, did I mention they offer SWEET POTATO FRIES? This is so uniquely American so obviously I got them. And they were spot on. To end the lunch I had a red velvet cupcake, that they gladly replaced for me when I received it, covered in walnuts (I'm allergic). The cupcake itself was a perfect level of moistness, and the frosting. Oh the frosting. Not cloyingly sweet, and had the perfect amount of cream cheese. I cannot wait to head back here for their blueberry pancakes/bacon combo some morning. (They have bottles and bottles of REAL maple syrup at your disposal...not to mention plentiful amounts of Heinz ketchup and HOT SAUCE. And some sort of caramel for their French toast.) I love all food that comes from a truck, but this place was especially endearing. ENORRMEE coup de coeur!!

We came here once and were so impressed by the burger that we came back again and all ordered the signature burger. I will say that it was not as good the second time because they swapped out the sesame brioche bun with more of a sesame hamburger bun, but the flavor of the meat was still good nevertheless. The people are also friendly and it's English-friendly, if that matters to you. Would definitely recommend giving Harper's a try!

A couple birthdays and they'd turn down the lights for a couple minutes to sing happy birthday in French. Idk if that's tradition HBD but def had everyone in the restaurant clapping along. Our server Aimen was phenomenal. He was very humble and simply said he worked there but I think he may be the owner or manager. He was so kind and friendly with us. It was a busy Friday night but he made sure we were well taken care of. He also spoke Spanish which was refreshing to hear!! Coming from the U.S. where good customer service is important, he's one of the nicest and friendliest restaurant people we have had the pleasure to meet in Paris. For food, my salmon with the sweet potato puree was amazing. The salmon per the menu is semi-cooked. I requested fully cooked and it was still delicious. The cheese fries were perfectly salted and good to share. The pork fried balls were also very good. They had an English menu. The service was just as good as the food, excellent.

Beef quality was above average and the steak was cooked properly. Service was ok but slow (which seems to be a theme in Paris). We came around 10:30 pm and the only kind person in the whole staff, the bus boy, told us we would be addressed shortly but recommended reservations in the future or to tell the bartenders at the speakeasy for a table. We weren't even offered a table because the people down there are actually the some of the rudest people in Paris. We were told we would have a table in five min after waiting ten minutes to be addressed. They have maybe three waiters who spend a good thirty minutes to even more arrogant people the menu. I actually heard, "miso is a wonderful taste from Asia," as one of the female waiters explained how their tartare was prepared. Thoroughness makes sense but arrogance and pretentiousness does not. We then waited fifteen minutes outside not five for a table. If I wasn't so hungry and tired, I would have gone elsewhere. My boyfriend went and asked to be seated and we were given the table corner that had been empty the whole time. What the hell? We ordered the tartare and a filet with Mac n cheese and duck fat fries as sides. They were sold out of the filet so she offered an alternative. I like my meat well done with no signs of blood. My French boyfriend made it really clear. She said this alternative was great for well done lovers. The meat options had a sauce of choice. We both opted for the shallot sauce. It was good but nothing special. My steak came out thick and bloody as hell. I cut it in half and asked her to recook it. She brought it back still bloody and said it was the best she could do. Not cool. They could have at the very least butterflied it. The steak was thicker than my fist. What do you mean well done people like it? We had to ask for bread and water. They don't serve tap. Our Mac n cheese was amazing. Fries were nothing special. You can't taste the duck fat and for 5€, I want fat. We ordered the profiterole for 12€ and it was the best damn thing. It was a huge cream puff with dark chocolate ice cream. The cream was amazing. The bus boy drizzled warm chocolate sauce everywhere. It's HUGE too!! Amazing. Sadly the service here is awful and I'll never be back. Our whole meal came out to 74€. She didn't have change for a 100€ bill. Are you seriously telling me you don't have 26€? I didn't leave a tip.
