This winery was one of the stops on the CM Tours for a day tour of Douro Valley we booked via GetYourGuide. For the first hour, they give you a tasting of a red and a white wine from Douro Valley, as well as a sampling of their olive oil with some bread. All were great but I especially liked the olive oil. You also get to tour the facilities a bit, and they still used old timey methods of using the huge aged barrels. After that, you have lunch for about an hour. That day, we had some vegetable soup (amazing and super comforting because it was rainy and cold that day). Not sure what veggies because when I asked, they just said "mixed puréed veggies" but I definitely tasted carrot in there. For entrees, you get a choice of seafood rice, pasta with pork, or veggie pasta. It's all very meh. It's kind of what you would expect of your food. But they do keep the wine flowing, which was nice. For dessert, it's fruit or cake.
Overall, it wasn't bad. It was just unfortunate that it was raining so much because we didn't get a chance to see the vineyards. read more
