If you were looking for a charming tea house, this place is for you! House in a beautiful old Victorian mansion, it is recommended that you make reservations well in advance. The servers are incredibly attentive and make wonderful recommendations. I took three friends here this past weekend and we had a wonderful time. The T. selection is quite large, and although we each ordered a different tea, everyone enjoyed what they ordered. My three friends ordered the lady Diana plate, and I had the sausage flatbread. They all loved their lunch, and although I thoroughly enjoyed the chicken soup that was the soup of the day, the flatbread just had too much sausage on it for my liking. Nothing wrong with it, it just wasn't for me. We all ordered the scone of the day, which was a lemon blueberry, and they serve this with clotted cream in jam. The scones were exceptional! The inside of the home is super charming, and they will even give you a tiara to wear if it's your birthday! They have a very cute gift shop upstairs on the second level, and there are other cute boutiques right down the road. This is a long delayed review as I actually visited Quintealia's a few months ago with a large group of foodie-focused friends, but better late than never! Overall, I am glad that a couple dozen of us were able to support this local, independent business, especially since the owner herself stopped by to greet us all one by one and give us a short history lesson of the historic building/former home (formerly owned by wealthy local man, George Ford) and the business itself! The recipies are from the owner's grandmother, whose name is actually Quintilia! As part of our tea party package, we had: -Hibiscus berry tea -Cinnamon orange spice tea -Tomato tortelini soup -Petit fours -Homemade scones -4 half sandwiches and 6 bite size desserts Imo, the best dessert was a small lemon tart! In all honesty, everything was very good! I would recommend adding a small salad to the line up, however. Also, make sure to call ahead of time to buy scones to go! The tea selection is plentiful, and they have a nice menu complete with your regular tea fixings (sandwiches and award winning scones), plus two cottage pies (one beef and one chicken). I tried a few new things today that I wouldn't normally try and ended up liking it! I believe we ordered the Queen Elizabeth option they had on their menu. If memory serves me correctly, I believe it was Between 27 and 30 per person is my guess. Worth every penny, though! We got a nice little tower of delicious little finger foods, the top, starting with a warm fresh scones towards the center we have some extra pastries along with a quiche which was divine!!! And then the third bottom tier is our sweets! We had a lovely selection of a lemon bar, pastries with jam and chocolates! The tea selection was out of this world! It was a little overwhelming at first, realizing how much tea they had. I couldn't make up my mind on what I wanted, because I wanted to try all of them! Each of us ended up getting one pot of tea. I got a orange citrus sunshine, which was nice and light and smelled like fruity pebbles, and then we got a blueberry rose tea that was very fruity and had a wonderful aftertaste and then we got a ginger lime tea for our third pot we got a hibiscus tea that I've gotten twice now and love. For service the staff is always so well dressed! And each interaction with staff is always so engaging and welcoming and the owners story is so cool she has been collecting teasers for YEARS! Very teacup and pot you get served with is apart of her MASSIVE collection! And each person at the table gets to use their own unique teacup and it always so fun to look at what designs you get and also see what everyone else got. This is the best decorated tea parlor I have visited. Make sure to have reservations as this place is small and busy. I was in as a group of five and we sat at a table near the front picture window and beautifully decorated fireplace. We each got our own pot of tea and were able to sample each others: all very tasty. For lunch I ordered the savory sampler which is a variety of 4 finger sandwiches and a cup of soup (I picked the tomato bisque). The portion is dainty so while delicious it's not completely filling. I had to stop here for the second time. From the minute you pull up to the beautiful home, you feel at peace. Walking in you are greeted by a server who is ready to seat you. I saw a sign that they had a little boutique upstairs so of course I had to stop up there first. The owner of the boutique was so friendly and had many beautiful pieces of jewelry and accessories. I picked up a face mask that was so amazing to use I loved it! I also picked up a key ring for my keys and cardholder. Ok so there is mostly good I can say about this lovely tea parlor. As soon as I walked in, I was enveloped in regal Victorian vibes. I was very impressed with the decor which created a very warm and fancy atmosphere. On the fireplace mantle that's closest to the door, there are even pictures of famous people having tea. There's even a picture of Oprah enjoying tea in what seems to be the adjoining room of the tea parlor (I think it was photoshopped). The service is really nice. They even asked my boyfriend if he uses his right or left hand, so they could put his tea kettle on the appropriate side. The food is great, especially the scones that are sometimes served straight from the oven. My only minor gripe is the food is kinda boring. Everything tastes really good however, I would like to see more unique details added to the food. Everything was average items I could find at a normal bakery. Although, this is a traditional tea parlor, so I understand why. Everyone is super smiley here and I really enjoy all the serving ware. I made reservations in advance for a party of 5 and I am glad I did because this place was pretty busy on a Saturday at 1pm. The tea parlor is located around the Burton square in a beautiful green Victorian mansion. Inside is just as lovely with its decor and you can tell there is a lot of attention paid to detail. We all got our own little pot of tea, some dined on finger sandwiches with a cup of soup, others had crust less quiche with a side salad, and most of us tried the scones of the day with cream and jam. Here are my details: *Savory Sampler $12.95 - You get a choice of soup or salad and the soup comes out in a small clear tea cup. I had tomato bisque and it was pretty good. For the main bit you get four finger sandwiches with some fruit. It's a light meal so don't expect to leave full unless you order something else to go along with it. *Scones and Cream $4.95 - Two small scones with devonshire cream and jam. A-okay. *Pot of Tea $4.95 - I got the raspberry tea and had no complaints. I think we all enjoyed our elegant little meals, and of course the pleasant company of each other. With tax and 20% gratuity automatically added, my bill was just shy of $30. So not a cheap experience, but fancy tea time with friends is still a lovely time especially if you dress up and wear hats. However, while good, I would not rate this place five stars though. Half a dozen things we requested they were out of which started to move past disappointing and into tiresome. Also, while our server was polite, he was not fully on top of his game. He had to go back to the kitchen a couple of times to find out what was in things like the crepe of the day, or what else they were out of, and he never brought out our sides so we sat for a really long time waiting with just tea when we should have been enjoying soup and salad before the entrée arrived. I will say that it was nice of one of the owners, Annette, to stop by and see how we were doing. If you live around the Burton area or if you don't mind a long car ride, I recommend checking this tea parlor out. A cute place for a little girl's birthday party, some father daughter time, or just a ladies lunch. Be prepared to spend a couple hours here and don't come hungry. I've visited here twice now and love this little tea room! The space is a historic home with table set up in different rooms. One room is decorated a bit more masculine for their male guests. The decor and dishes are Victorian, ornate and delicate. There is much attention given to detail. The service is impeccable. There is a large selection of teas which are loose leaf. For $4.95, you enjoy a pot with unlimited refills. They will offer to re-steep your pot to keep it hot. The food all seems to be made from scratch and was delicious. I had a pot of tea, salad with chicken, cup of wedding soup and their daily scone selection. My check came to $27 with tax before tip. The salad was filled with fruit and nuts and didn't even need the flavorful dressing it came with. I was glad they put it on the side. It was delicious, but I decided to forgo the calories after tasting the salad without it. The ingredients were fresh and stood on their own. The soup was full of pasta and meatballs. The flavors were perfect. The daily scone was a lemon white chocolate. I will just say, WOW! The scones are served with clotted cream and jam and were to die for! The texture and taste were exceptional. My tea had good flavor and I drink it plain, but they offer all sorts of accompaniments and have brown sugar cubes on each table. If you're looking for an authentic tea parlor, this is definitely the place! Quintealia's is located in a charming victorian home from the 1800's. All the rooms are decorated in a different style, and I would have been happy to have my tea in any one. There are all different kinds of antiques throughout. It was fun to look at the different tables since each one had different vintage salt and pepper shakers, sugar holders, etc. My mother and I went for the full tea. It came with an assortment of sandwiches, pastries and scones, plus a pot of tea. The food was great and the service was wonderful as well. Everyone was friendly and attentive without making us feel rushed. You can actually go and enjoy a cup (or pot) of tea without the fear of the owners waiting to get back their table. They use those beautiful little tea cups and pots that most places just put on display, and I have to say, it made us feel really special. Other little things they do to make you feel special include putting the napkin on your lap, giving you doilies for your tea pot to sit on, frequently warming your pot of tea with fresh water (and we didn't even have to ask!), cream mints on a cute little silver plate with your bill... just go and you'll see what I mean! There really isn't anything bad that I can say about this place, overall, just a really lovely experience. As a retired couple, my husband and I like pursuing our interests together whenever possible and this time we may have hit the nail on it's head. I learned of a tea room near Cleveland through a Facebook group I belong to and my husband has long wanted to travel the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic RR in that same area. On Thursday we had afternoon tea at Quintealia's and could not have been happier. The 1871 Victorian mansion's three ground floor tea rooms are beautifully restored and decorated to reflect different moods. One is reminiscent of an old English parlor, one is fashioned after a handsome library and one reminds the guests of a chic French restaurant. Owners Annette and Renee pay very close attention to such details as menu offerings that will appeal to mens' heartier appetites as well as lunch and tea menus for ladies and children. We both chose their formal tea menu which was beautifully presented on a three tier tea tray. Our tea consisted of fresh scones with jam and Devonshire clotted cream, an assortment of five delicious and beautifully adorned tea sandwiches each and five elegant petite desserts. I chose the Darjeeling tea which came out in a lovely floral pot and my husband chose the single leaf Ceylon tea which, in keeping with that detail I mentioned earlier, was served in a more masculine pot with depictions of a steeple chase. Both of our hostess/owners took the time to answer questions we had regarding the historic mansion, menu descriptions and questions about running an afternoon tea restaurant.
